I'm not expert, but typically local schools are better suited to help as evacuation spots. They can provide much needed shelter in gyms and cafeterias, as well as having nearby facilities--and I believe I've heard local schools have already been providing shelter. Magic Mountain isn't really set up like that (like, where exactly would you put them for shelter?), so not sure exactly how you'd want them to help. I've never heard of any amusement park helping out in this manner during a natural disaster, and I'd imagine it's because they're not set up for that, not because they're selfish.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

can't stand people who take out cell phones on rides, it's just blatant disrespect for park safety. What also sucks is if somehow their phone flies out of their hand and injures somehow, the park is liable and not the idiot with the phone. -
I was all ready to pencil in a Justice League ride for this park and move on to what Knotts is doing next. And then I see they've been pretty much confirmed for SFGadv and SFOG, and now I'm not so sure. I guess 3 JL in the same year isn't out of the question, but now I wonder if SFMM could be doing the SFOT flat ride additions instead or even something else? Hmmmmm.... Yeah, Gradv and SFOG getting JL kinda makes me question MM's 2017 as well. I feel like there are several different possible scenarios: 1.Six Flags is installing 3 JLs for next year, there should be extra capital since there are no rumored RMC conversions and the only other major addition is a rumored 4D for SFstl. 2.A Justice League was planned for MM but switched to Gradv last min due to MM coming up short on performance goals. Or possibly market research determined JL wouldnt fit MMs demographic. 3.A flat ride package similar to SFOT was planned all along for the old stunt show area. 4.MM taking 2017 off to plan for a 2018 dive coaster. Interesting note, one of the market research survey questions about future planning was which name (Joker, Wonder Woman, etc) would be fitting for a ride tallest of its kind (I'm sure an MM dive would one up CP's height record).

You realize you are posting on a theme park message board, right? That's something in itself that would make the majority of people go "wait, what?" People will do stupid things regardless of whether or not the game existed. In fact, you can argue the game is just helping weed them out at a quicker rate. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before, but it is kind of cool. Every single area I've seen where people congregate for Pokemon, it's been nothing but people socializing over something they are enjoying. Kudos to all the theme parks striking while the iron is hot and participating in the phenomenon, since it encourages people to visit new places and get out and walk. I visited USH with a friend and took the studio tour...I'd say 3/4 of the tram was playing the game for the opportunity to go in an area they wouldn't normally be able to in order to catch pokemon. There's even a gym on the backlot that I am sure USH employees are constantly fighting over. I'm not against the game itself or having fun. No one is talking about "acting" stupid. Sure we all do stupid things. Pretty sure I made it clear I'm against it controlling people to the extent that they're breaking the law and inconveniencing those around them. I'd bet 99.99% of the 21 million (and counting) people playing the game are not breaking the law and/or incoveniencing people. It's just that negativity tends to attract more attention from media etc. Most people, like someone mentioned earlier, are using the app to have fun, exercise, socialize etc; -

Wow, Pokemon Go is already at 21 million users in just one week of release. Crazy numbers! It's always been a crazy successful franchise, but this is insane. -

See I'm the opposite, I find it beautiful sitting on top of the the water. However, it gave me crazy whiplash on my one and ONLY ride I'll ever take on that thing. -
