Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

The company that works with Intamin's launch systems has 3 products listed for 2017 in the U.S. Not sure if that means for sure it's Intamin or if another company could be using them. However, I was able to match several of the products listed on the site to actual Intamin launch coasters. Like for instance there are two products listed back from 2007 in the U.S. which would correlate to Maverick... one at 1000kva (lift hill) and another for 3200 kva (tunnel launch). On the site as well, the very last product listed for the U.S. was 2011 which would correlate to Cheetah Hunt, the last Intamin launch coaster in the U.S. Again, not sure how accurate this website is, but it seems like a lot of things correlate even with the overseas launch coasters in Turkey, Dubai, etc; Here's the site: http://www.indrivetec.ch/en/references/ -
There's no way MM bulldozed an entire stadium for a superloop lol. I would love if MM did indeed get a Zamperla giant discovery ala SFOT but highly doubt we'll ever see one. The longest standing, most common rumor is JL, and these days usually the most popular rumor is the one that comes to fruition. I'm more excited about the possibility of them re-doing the movie district than the actual JL itself.

What a giant Sequoia!! -
Actually Six Flags Mexico and St Louis have a lot of the same rides, the only one up they got was of course the RMC and the fact that they have an old Morgan hyper. I'm sure if Six Flags felt iron-horsing The Boss would give them a solid ROI they would've done it by now. Plus the Boss seems to be well liked by people who've ridden it, all it probably needs is a GCI Ghostrider treatment, but then again how much ROI would they get from that?? And those 4D flip "non-coaster" thingies are pretty fun actually and would be more than World's of Fun has gotten in the past 5 years if you think about it.

Six Flags 2017 New Ride Predictions
Superbatboy replied to djackson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, HELL NO!!! The parks were dying under Kinzel's watch. He was stuck in the 80's when running the parks (whereas Six Flags was using the latest technology to help move the parks forward). Matt Ouimet came in and did things that Kinzel would never have done therefore bringing the parks up to where they can be more competitive. Hmmmmmm, Kinzel was stuck in the 80's? Yet he was responsible for green lighting some of the most iconic rides of the 2000's (Millennium Force, TTD, i305, and some say Fury 325 was conceived while he was still with the company). What exactly has Ouimet done that is forward thinking? Everything has been safe and done in the past. People also don't give Kinzel credit for buying the Paramount parks. Yes it was problematic in the beginning, but now that it's had time to flourish the Cedar Fair brand has become incredibly profitable. People credit and praise Ouimet for this, but it was Kinzel's vision. Also not sure how parks were "dying" under Kinzel. All regional parks were having trouble during the recession, that time period just so happened to coincide with the end of Kinzel's stint. -
Same here, I thought they went belly-up a long time ago.... If they're still around, then I'm surprised they haven't pulled a Zierer and make their debut on the big coaster market. I think people remember Miler going belly-up when it never did is an example of something called the Mandela Effect. You mean like The Berenstein Bears vs. The BerenSTAIN Bears? I swear when I was a kid it was the Berenstein Bears.

Hurler at KD! Looking forward to tomorrow's announcement! -
The fact that it's a clone doesn't bother me, I just feel the ride doesn't fit SFMM's core demographic which is thrill seekers. Especially since attendance is down this year, I don't think Justice League will get people through the gates like Twisted Colossus and Full Throttle did. I'm also extremely worried that in 2-3 years, only half the effects will work, the ride cars will be vandalized beyond repair, and they will only have half of the vehicles operating at any given point. Looking forward to see if the Movie District gets a complete overhaul though. The last 3 area revamps (Full Throttle Zone, DC Universe, Steampunk) have been pretty good. Hopefully next, Cyclone Bay will get some MAJOR love.
