Yeah, I'm in agreement its probably just going to be a picture of El Diablo construction. The ride has been there since December and the park opens in just three days, so now seems like the best time for this park to start construction on their brand new flashy carnival ride. We already had the Namtab announcement, they aren't going to announce the 2016 attraction just yet, I guess there is a slim chance the state agreed to a fix for Z:DOD and KK to run together? That would be kickass.

Thanks for that report, Bill. I really enjoyed reading that, it honestly made me want to go to this park more so than any other Fury report Ive read so far. Sounds like you guys had a great time. -
This picture (found here) shows two trains, one on the final breaks, one on the mid-course. Article says guests were 20-25 feet in the air. My guess is the breaks didn't release on the final break run for station advance, and the train behind it was stopped on the mid-course? Whatever the case, SENSATIONALISM.

Last year me and bunch of friends went opening day, everything was open except for Ka and Zumanjaro for obvious reasons. Lines were not too bad except mid-day they got a little hairy, and operations were smooth for the most part. It was generally cold and winter-y right up until opening day last year and out of nowhere we had this beautiful 70 degree day, so it was probably more crowded than it normally would have been. I'm sure it being the first riding day of the season has something to do with it, but looking back it was one of my favorite days @ the park all year. I wrote about it on my blog.

CP or Bust: Trip Planning Advice Needed
boldikus replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, we're finally booked to stay at Breakers on Memorial Day weekend. It hasn't really sunk in yet. We had some logistical issues involving babies and pets so we cut out the Thursday stop @ Hershey, and since its only 2 hours from here we can do it another day/time. So we're now leaving Philly at the asscrack of dawn on the morning of Friday the 22nd to head straight to Kennywood. We hope to arrive around noon and have about 5-6 hours there. Hopefully it will be enough time to do all 7 coasters and a few of the flats. We have nothing to book here so if weather is bad we'll just head straight to Cedar Point on Friday and take our time getting there and enjoy the Friday preview steez. If all goes according to plan and we do stop at Kennywood, we'll leave there around 5/6pm to head straight to Cedar Point on Friday evening, with hopes to arrive by 9pm. We're booked @ Breakers through Monday and we have Platinum Fast Lane Passes budgeted in to really enjoy our weekend. -

I'll be doing this @ Dorney with my bro-in-law, first time participating. Very excited. We formed our own team early on (link in my signature) before I saw you guys post up here about TPR teams, but we're definitely hoping to meet some other forum nerds that day and make a few friends! Anyways, I just saw Dorney posted on their site (not the official Coasting for Kids site) their schedule/itinerary and thought I'd share here for anyone else who will be at the park.

Some cool general maintenance photos and an article about the park slowly sprouting back to life. I'll say it again, I can't wait for his park to open! full photo set and article here: http://www.pennlive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/03/hersheypark.html Note: still no mention of Laff Trakk opening date yet. -

Ride that Makes You (a bit) Sick
boldikus replied to coasternate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't get nauseous from much, but usually anything that spins: spinning mice, teacups, etc will do it. I avoid those mostly. Things like Skyscreamer, and Apollo @ Dorney I thought would make me sick but I was fine. Apollo is one of my favorite flat rides, in fact. Two notable "think I might hurl" moments of 2014: - riding Green Lantern (GAdv) after chugging a bunch of beer in the parking lot - riding Bizarro (GAdv) 3 times in a row without getting up @ Coasters After Dark last year after not eating anything all day. -

Great report. This seems to be a really nice SF park, I'd love to check it out for Medusa alone. -
^ To be a fair, Great Adventure does it too. - steepest/longest wooden drop - tallest/fastest coaster - tallest drop ride - first floorless - tallest on east coast (nitro) - first dual LIM (chiller) - first heartline roll (ultra twister) - first interlocking loops (lightning loops) OK I'm reaching but you get the idea, lol.

This. Twisted Colossus looks great, but to me they seem they are going to be different experiences. Between the dueling aspect, the two lifts, the high five, the different colored tracks, etc etc it feels more gimicky, for lack of a better word. Flashy maybe? I don't mean it as a negative, it seems to me it'll fit right in with Magic Mountains vibe, and I think out of the two coasters it will likely go over great with the GP because of all of that. Given RMC's track record, I'm sure it will be a great ride and quite an experience. Based on the rendering, and I know the actual ride experience may differ, Wicked Cyclone just seems absolutely relentless and just a good old, down and dirty, insane ride from start to finish. I think it will be the hit among enthusiasts out of the two.

I am really excited for this thing. Pretty sure I've said it here before but out of all the 2015 additions this is the most enthralling to me. It's the only ride this off season I find myself salivating for more updates on progress. The new aerial pics floating around are making this thing look amazing. It's also nice that its kind of close to me. Anyone else think that pop at 1:19 is going to be WC's "Rolling Thunder hill"? So many elements/sections where I'm like "Holy crap I cannot wait to ride that!" Not to throw down on the east/west coast war brewing between these two rides, while Twisted Colossus looks awesome in its own right, I strongly feel this is going to blow it out of the universe.

TPR Facebook Questions
boldikus replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Do you have your videos set to auto-play on your: a. desktop computer and/or b. mobile device? Nope. 2. Do you regularly "share" content from Facebook "page" (like the TPR page) to your own personal Facebook page? And have you shared something from the TPR page? Yes, I share. Regularly? Hmmmm depends on your definition of regularly. 3. What kind of content are you most likely to share? (Videos, Photos, News Stories, etc?) POV Videos mostly, photos on occasion. 4. How long on average do you watch a video posted to Facebook for? Do you watch the entire video? First 30 seconds? Until you get bored? Depending on the video all of the above? 5. How important are "video thumbnails" to you? (the image you see with the > Play icon before you click to watch a video) They can help attract my attention but I usually check out most videos posted by TPR. 6. What do you like/dislike about Facebook? What features do you use the most and which ones annoy you? I like that its a central place to connect with friends and family, find out about news, check out others photos and videos, promote my art and business, and waste time at work. 7. Is there anything that TPR does or doesn't do on Facebook that you think we should be doing more/less of? More banning the trolls.
