Since you mention that, as they're retheming SFNE's Bizarro back to Superman, do you think it's likely that they'll follow suit at GAdv and take it back to Medusa this season? No. Bizarro is fine the way it is. No way the park would pay to paint and retheme it back to Medusa since no one but a handful of enthusiasts would care. Though I do agree they could use something else back there to revive that area. But where? With that arena, RMT, SORA's station, the flume, etc They couldn't really put anything back there without removing trees, no? And that would be lame. I just hope they don't get rid of Bizarro at some point, I could see them eventually relocating it because it rarely has a line, but that works for me since its IMO one of the more solid coasters in the park.

Just popping in here to say this is an awesome addition. I have really wanted to go to Magic Mountain and currently have close friends who live in LA and constantly bug me to come out. Twisted Colossus almost did it this year but then we decided Kennywood/Cedar Point was the move for our 2015 trip. Now this has me SERIOUSLY trying to figure out a short hop out there to finally check out this park. I grew up watching Vacation and have been aware of both where/what these coasters actually are for a long time. Obviously this refreshing is something that's needed from what I can tell by the posts here and elsewhere, and its so great the park listened to years of complaining from the fans and is doing something about it. I'm curious to see the paint job on the track too. So the park is just refurbishing the trains? Not Gerstlauer? If the outcome is anything like SooperDooperLooper you guys are in for a treat. SDL is crazy awesome smooth, kind of scary great for being as old as it is imo.

LOL I wake up and check this thread and its now more people complaining about people complaining than the actually complainers themselves. Good job, guys. As I stated many times before the announcement, this isn't what I personally would've wanted and I'm gutted they are plopping this ugly thing in front of the freshly cleared out lakefront not to mention the name is horrible, but now that it confirmed, this will be a huge hit for the park. After the super loop fiasco we're actually getting a coaster! WOOT! The GP is gonna eat it right up and it will take crowds away from the rides I go to this park for. So its a win. I'll be grabbing my 2016 season pass regardless of this addition, but I'll check this out. (Passholder previews FTW.) Maybe it will be awesome, we'll see come July 4th! Dude is it possible for you to disagree with someone with insulting them? Jesus.

^ Which is great. But personally, X2 - and FTR I've never even been to Magic Mountain - is one of those coasters that has never looked appealing to me. And the mixed reviews only reinforce that. I mean, maybe its great. But there is a certain type of ride I like and certain coasters that particularly appeal to me and X2 is not it. I would ride it for sure but just like the folks in the MM thread that would hope for an El Toro clone, I like the idea of Six Flags cloning a one-of-a-kind coaster that does appeal to me. Again, I feel disappointed for selfish reasons. The rumor of a Full Throttle clone or something similar made my ears perk up immediately. That looks like a great ride to me. I would love an insane giant loop in front of the lake. Simple, elegant, and lots of WOW factor.

I'm sure some people are, I'd say I'm closer to disappointed. But that's only because of my own selfish reasons and I understand why the park is getting a free spin, if that's in fact what it is. It is what it is and I'm sure a freespin will be a success @ GAdv. I know I'm being dramatic, but not knowing this year is making this feel a little like Xmas eve. All we do know is that its a coaster (if the Jersey Township board member peoples are to be believed, and I'd say they have no reason to collectively lie) but at this point it could be anything. I'm geeking a little. We're getting a new coaster (hopefully)!!!

THIS. Dorney doesn't get long lines and still charges as theirs only seats eight. Granted its only $2 but a lot of people feel like they paid to get into the park so they don't want to pay more for upcharges. I LOVE screaming swings so I like that at most parks they are an upcharge. I don't mind paying since the lines stay at a minimum.

I saw this thread and giggled and thought "there has to be a video somewhere of some asshole with their dog on a coaster" and went to YouTube, searched "Dog on a Coaster" and this was the first result!

What was your favorite new ride of 2015?
boldikus replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Its funny the only new coaster I've been on isn't really new - Rougarou. It was good but I still like my home park floorless (Bizarro) better. I didn't ride it as Mantis but considering my experiences with standups, I'm sure its a considerable improvement. I'll post here again if I manage to make it to either Hershey or SFNE by the end of the year, both trips in the planning stages. I did ride the new Flyers at Dorney but I'll echo what coasterbill said - they run such a short slow cycle its not even worth mentioning. The new KONG flyers at Morey's were awesome - great lightning package, good themeing, long cycle, elevated above the boardwalk and you can snap them - so I guess that's my answer. I have ridden a TON of "new to me rides" rides this year. Maverick stands head and shoulders above any of those. I know that doesn't count here, but its new to me. -
One of my favorite times at parks is that last-trains-of the-night-vibe that can happen. I've felt it while riding Toro and Nitro before park closing, and of course Millennium on our night rides when we were there earlier this year. Everyone is hyped up - the ops are hustling to get everyone out of there, and the guests are just like 'BEST EVER CAN WE JUST KEEP RIDING THIS FOREVER AND EVER PLEASE HELL YES DON'T STOP'. It's bittersweet but I love that.
