  1. "Sorry guys, no new coaster again this year so here's a really ugly train to go on your worst coaster." I mean it would probably be much more economically feasible to just burn the thing down.
  2. Green Lantern is bad but nowhere near the level of suckage that is Apocalypse. It's bad but it has its moments. The first drop, loop and the pop off the midcourse are great fun. And between Nitro, Batman, Skull Mountain, Sky Screamer and Superman we have some nice rides open. Weather is looking perfect for today, I'll be up around 3. Actually convinced my folks to join us and they haven't been there since the late 80's (which bums me out I can't take them to Frontier since its the most old school area of the park between RMT, Sawmill and BOTW). But I'm thrilled they're coming along and I'm itching to ride today. Hope lines are minimal, would like some Nitro re-rides. Woot!
  3. Why wouldn't you wait until the 5th to see what crowds are like and then decide while at the park?
  4. I love this paragraph so much, literally LOLing in my office. Great report, I am really enjoying reading everyones reports of HITP. And awesome photos, especially the ones taken by your wife. Some amazing shots. I can't wait til Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. top3: Maverick. Make it longer. Maybe a 3rd launched section into more insanity. There is nothing about it that already exists that needs to be changed. That's why its my #1. It should also be in the park across the street from my house. El Toro. I always wished there was one more giant camelback. The drop, 1st hill, 2nd hill, then a third hill, then into the turn. I also wish the first hill after the turnaround was steeper and had more of a whip in the back of the train. This ride should also be behind my house. Other than that its perfect. Skyrush. I don't mind the lapbars as is but it would be nice if they added the vest restraints like Maverick/I305 has so I don't have to deal with the upper half of my body whipping around uncontrollably like a ragdoll and I could actually ride hands up and not holding on for dear life. But I still love the sh!t out of it. This should also be within walking distance to my house.
  6. I don't know. Maybe if they changed the death metal to something like Chestnuts Roasting on a Open Fire. Then they could have added fire effects to the inside. Boom! New credit.
  7. Fixed Speaking of which, is anyone else as surprised as me that no one has yet asked if Poinsettia Peak is considered a new credit?
  8. ^^ OMG shut up about those waffles already! Where did you get them?? lol Just got the thumbs up our office is closed Friday so I'll definitely be up to check out this affair, finally. Weather looks like it might be decent! We are taking my nephew for his 3rd visit to the park. He's 2 but loves the park so extra excited he's coming along, think he's gonna love it. So much Ive heard from all these reports that I want and/or need to check out. Funnel cake, hot cocoa, ornaments, waffles, light shows... oh who am I kidding I absolutely cannot wait to ride Nitro on Friday afternoon!
  9. ^^ I marathoned Toro at Coasters After Dark in April when it was just under 40 degrees and they were making everyone sit in the front of the train because it was seriously about to valley right before the brake run. Also was there in October of last year early on a freezing cold Sunday morning temps in the 30s and they were running Toro but it was unbelievably sluggish. The drop, first two hills and RT hill are all still insane even when its running that painfully slow. Its the twister section and the last few bunnyhops where its so noticeable.
  10. ^ You are aware that Toro, and that entire side of the park (Golden Kingdom, PDC, Frontier, and BBNP) is closed for this event, right? The Bull is hibernating for the winter. Also, and this isn't necessarily directed at you - but so many people have posted online why they are not going to go to this event from Toro and Ka being down to the Safari being closed, to the many other holiday events in the area, etc. I am surprised more people aren't just content with the fact that for the first time ever we have an open park with coasters running until January. I'm so happy they are doing this, based on reports here and elsewhere it looks fantastic, I guess people will always find something to complain about.
  11. Is your buddy the Dippin Dots guy? Thanks for all the photos and reports guys. Looks like its a great event, won't make it there today so looks like Friday for me. Can't wait.
  12. Can you confirm that death metal has a home at Great Adv's HITP?
  13. I generally hate my photographs (especially compared to some of the talent on here) but I do enjoy taking them, I love looking at peoples photographs, and I like this thread. Here are some randoms that turned out OK. I guess. One of my favorite moments of any ride at Dorney Twisted mess of glorious force Great White off season El Toro by sunset Mariners Pier (Moreys) Waveswinger and Giant Wheel Nightro More Great White off season. Caught this as a storm rolled up the coast and shortly after had to take cover Taken on my least favorite trip to Great Adv ever But the skies that day were incredible. See? On the edge of Kennywood I don't know why I like this photo I just do. Early morning Zumi ERT last fall.
  14. I keep mentioning HITP to my GP friends and absolutely no one has any idea they are doing this. Most people I've mentioned it to are like "What!?!? GA is open in the winter!?!" I haven't seen a single TV advertisement for it, though I could see them start running them this weekend once the event starts. The fact that many people are in the dark about it gives me great hope that lines for coasters will be minimal, but there is really no way to know what crowds will be like until the park is operating this weekend since they've never done this before.
  15. I'm on board with all three of these picks, especially Roar and Wildcat. Roar would seem like a no brainer for Six Flags since its twin is already getting the RMC treatment. You would think SF would be able to save a bunch of money by using The Joker's design for SFA's Roar. Wildcat seems unnecessary at Hershey since they have 2 other great woodies in Comet (classic out & back) and Lightning Racer (racing coaster). Wildcat is just rough and not very fun, so it's a prime RMC candidate to me. I beg to differ about Wildcat. I rode it once, was expecting the worst ride of my life. I was extremely shocked with how it turned out. I even found it to be (yes, you WILL read this correctly) SMOOTHER than Lightning Racers. Experience wise, there are more thrilling elements on Lightning Racer, so I would choose that over Wildcat ANY DAY. If you think Wildcat is rough (which yes, I agree, it could use some retracking), I am going to just assume that you haven't ridden Kings Dominion's Hurler yet. That gets my pick for what should get RMC'd next. I'm surprised I haven't seen that on here often, because THAT is an absolutely BRUTAL ride with tons of potential. I don't think Wildcat is as bad as people say, it's rough the way a good classic woodie should be. Mostly why I think Wildcat should get RMC'd is because Hershey has an almost perfect line-up already, I think an RMC would be a perfect addition and of the three woodies, Wildcat is the best candidate. Comet is too classic and Lightning Racer is flat out awesome. RMC Wildcat, add nice drop tower, another adult flat and maybe replace Sidewinder with something (by Intamin) and voila! best park ever.
  16. ^ Superman Theme (Dubstep Remix) on repeat?
  17. Totally. Dorneys looks great now too. I dig the LEDs over the old school bulbs. Looks modern and I love that they are programmable. Moreys has had the French flag up the last few days (and was green for Veterans day last week). So cool that they keep it lit throughout most the off season. Photo from Wildwood 365
  18. Moreys all day.
  19. I agree. This is a huge missed opportunity to upgrade to an LED package or at least replace the dead bulbs. Overall this still looks great tho.
  20. Great Adventure Online just posted a bunch of pics, I guess taken over the weekend while prepping for HITP. Looks great and I'm super stoked. Who is going this weekend?? They're really holding out on me with the Skull Mountain pics lol. Also I think we know about most of this but this bit of text was with the photos.
  21. I had really high expectations for this ride and it absolutely exceeded all of them. I want to get back to KW mostly just to marathon PR. I wouldn't say its underrated though, seems a lot of people rank it really highly.
