  1. ^ Exactly my thoughts. I'm still trying to figure out why people are skeptical about it NOT being Iron Colossus. To me, its as plain as day that this is happening. Its like the park practically spelled it out for us.
  2. That is the best idea I've heard all day for what to do with this coaster. That would absolutly be possibly the best dueling coaster element in the history of ever. And yes-even better than the high 5 element! WHERE'S RMC, THEY NEED TO HEAR THIS BRILLIANT IDEA!
  3. I go to parks all the time alone. Coney Island, Six Flags Great Adventure, Kings Dominion, the list keeps on going. I prefer being alone because I can do things on my own schedule without anyone in the group complaining or arguing about what to do next. I still go in groups at times, but I personally like being El Solo.
  4. Anyone know where it was inside the building? Queue line, loading platform, inside the actual building??
  5. I always ride Rebel Yell in the front. The back is just too rough, and not worth it for the airtime. The front is smoother and still provides plenty of airtime. And as for shockwave, honestly if you know how to ride it properly, then its not that bad.
  6. ^ Last year it was one of the last days of August. Well we all saw it coming. Heck, they stopped running the one side ages ago. So heres my two cents about what they need to do to this. Make each side different. Different maneuvers and make them duel and race. Have the track do a barrel roll, flipping the track over to the other side. Have them intertwine. Have each side have different epic elements. To turn around, one side has an overbank, the other has a dive loop. Have one side do a vertical drop, the other has the Medusa: Steel Coaster drop. You get the point. Will all of that happen? Probably not. The other thing I'd like to see is a different color of track other than orange or red. I'd be interested in seeing how the color works with the white wood, since this would be the first RMC hybrid that doesn't have the traditional brown wood.
  7. Thats a beautiful sight! Looks amazing! I didn't realize that the parking got that close to Ka...is that employee parking only or can the GP get that close if they wanted?
  8. I never understood why people liked this woodie so much until I rode it. It's very fun, and has some Great airtime.
  9. ^ yeah I was thinkin about that. How can SFGAm be calling themselves the wooden coaster capital of the world if technically KD has the same number? And wow I didn't realize that before this year KD was the launched coaster capital AND the wooden coaster capital! As far as 2015 goes, I still believe it's going to be fairly big... this season although they did a ton to the park was technically an "off" year and the 40th Celebration is for 2014-2015 so why not go out with a bang? Plus, it's been 5 years since Intimidator 305 next season... it was 5 years since Diamondback at KI, 5 years since Intimidator at Carowinds, so why not KD? Especially when competing with BGW who is putting in a coaster next season (although a small, crappy capacity coaster) and got Verbolten 2 seasons after 305 opened. The way I see it, KI got a coaster the year before KD got i305. I305 was added the same year Carowinds got a coaster. So couldn't that mean that potentially we could be seeing KD adding a coaster and Carowinds adding a coaster in the same year?
  10. ^ well the way things are looking, your dream will probably be coming true!
  11. I'm still pro B&M. That's exactly what this park needs.
  12. thanks! I was curious if they pronounced the 't' or not. Guess they do!
  13. So WMG at Canada's Wonderland takes up over 23,000 square feet of land, does anyone know how much land the Volcano mountain takes up? If volcano isn't big enough, then they would have to expand the mountain if they wanted to fit a WMG style ride in there.
  14. A bit of an awkward question, but how do you pronounce the name of this park?
  15. Maybe a waterpark expansion with the new coaster? Or here's actually what it could be, and I don't know if anyone has ever considered this. The park talks about how each day will give little subtle clues. Perhaps the water indicates maybe a water theme or maybe even a splashdown break?
  16. Travel channel. 170, or 570 for HD version. The first episode I believe is airing Sunday, June 29th
  17. This is exciting! Makes me want to delay my trip to florida! (As if I was ever planning a trip to florida haha)
  18. Its said to go at Mango's Tropical Cafe on i-drive, near the Orlando Eye. Sure to be noticed from driving on that long road! Especially a coaster at that height...
  19. What do you guys think of Lance's post on screamscape today? 2015 - New Attraction(s) - Speculation Only - (5/30/14) Based on a fun discussion on Facebook about what Kings Dominion may have planned for 2015, I’ll share my own thoughts on the matter. Keep in mind that at this point, I’ve received ZERO rumors about any 2015 projects at Kings Dominion, so what you will read below is purely my speculation, based entirely on what Cedar Fair has been doing at some of their other parks. And to cover this first… don’t expect a new coaster. Or at least not the big kind you are probably hoping for. I do wonder if something that uses coaster style track could be in the works however. I’ve never really been inside the mountain structure that serves as the home to Volcano: The Blast Coaster, but in the old days I know it used to house a few different smaller attractions, so I have to wonder if there may be room for one more today. Could Kings Dominion follow the lead from Canada’s Wonderland and build their own version of Wonder Mountain’s Guardian inside the same structure? Even if there really isn’t a lot of room, the park could build a separate and hidden structure behind the mountain, and simply run the new ride (or part of the queue) into the structure to make it look like the new ride takes place within. Another idea may be to focus on the waterpark for 2015. It has been a few years since anything of significance was added to it and this may be the time. One more idea comes to mind… perhaps following in the footsteps of Cedar Point and Valleyfair’s 2014 additions with a small collection of new flat rides, anchored by a Zamperla Disk’o Coaster. They are all good ideas, but I think I’d prefer to see the “Guardian” clone myself, as it is just a new and unique new concept and KD could use another themed dark ride. I personally can't really see a Disk-O at this park, but I could definately see a WMG style attraction next year. The main reason I say that is cause the park has talked about how they have plans to renovate the mountain in the coming years. This would do it, alright! My only thing about that is that KD already has a shooting dark ride, while other parks like CP do not, so I don't think that KD might necessarily be the next park that would get it. I think other parks deserve it more. But don't get me wrong! I would love this at my home park.
  20. Great photos, but I gotta disagree with you on the line about Tennessee Tornado not usually crowded even on crowded days. When I went, the park was packed, and TT easily had a 2+ hour line. And I waited in it! It was awful.
  21. I think that is easily what it will be in 2015. If not, then a aqua twist/tsunami soaker. But probably swing.
  22. How bad can the lines get at this park? On weekdays? On weekends? How about in May? And is it possible to ride all the coasters and thrill rides in half a day?
  23. The great escape. They need a stand out steel coaster that draws in the park visitors. Right now they're lacking in terms of stand out coasters, with the exception of comet. I realize they want to be a family park, but this would make the thrill seekers in the family happy! It probably won't happen, but it's be a perfect fit.
