  1. ^Exactly. The GP can't tell if it is relocated or entirely new, so Six Flags can switch around their coasters to different parks and still count them as new. That is why they have a new attraction at every park every year. Cedar Fair is more invested in "quality over quantity", so their parks get brand new coasters, just less often.
  2. ^When you were there riding Goliath, were the lines still insane, or have they died down a bit? Just curious as I will be there in a week.
  3. That would be perfect for this park! I really think that if they go for this, they would please a lot of enthusiasts. The only other think that I could think of that would also make sense is a Mack Rides launch coaster like Helix or Blue Fire. Any of those possibilities sound good, so I hope we are onto something!
  4. I was just thinking about something based on the recent clues (about a week ago - mentioning the storms. I was thinking they could be like Verbolten's event building - could be located on the pit). I was thinking that the clues could be hinting towards the layout of the coaster, each day being a hint of a certain element. Here is what I mean: Day 1 "At last the day is here. After years of planning, we depart for the New World." Dispatch from station. Day 4 "We are told to remain below" underground tunnel perhaps? Day 5 "My worries drift away with the gentle rocking of the ship." Some pre-launch/lift turns? Day 8 "The liar must clean what the swabber will not, the beakhead and chains." A reference to a chain lift? Day 11"The children look to the skies and imagine what secrets exist within the massive clouds." High height, or nearing the top of the lift? Day 15 "We count one hundred plus two passengers on board." Could this be the height? Day 16 "And now we are one hundred and three" Drop length? Day 21 "The spray on deck feels colder now than at the start of our journey." Water effects? Maybe the old Pilgrim's area will be used? Day 22"As the ship shifts unexpectedly, there are times we can no longer stay upright." Inversions, anyone? Day 25"The skies are worrisome." Could this the coaster going into the pit? There could be a building like Verbolten, and worrisome skies are usually dark - a building could be dark on the inside. Day 26 "We have survived our first storm at sea." Storm effects, turns, inversions that happen in the building? Day 28 "The air on deck is fresh" Out of the "event" building? Day 34 "The wind has taken on a deeper chill and stronger force." Launch to reach top speed? Day 35 "The ocean waves rock our ship." Could this mean back and forth "twisties"? (Cheetah Hunt & Lightning Run are examples) Day 36 "Another storm." Back into the "event" building? Anyways, I might be overthinking, but this could be something.
  5. Thanks for sharing! Front row of Kingda Ka with arms up is the best way to do it!
  6. We all have our own opinions. I see no reason to question someone over their opinion.
  7. Todays clue is now visible on the site: http://www.holidayworld.com/66days/
  8. Of course they were joking! "Banshee sucks because you can't get to it - Kings Island is not located on a waterway"
  9. Just thought of something. The clues keep hinting towards "long time before _____________________" Could this mean the coaster will outdo Voyage for length? If so, it should be a good one! Most coasters created recently reach somewhere around 4,000 feet long (Banshee, Gatekeeper), so this would be at least 2,000 feet longer if my theory is true.
  10. ^^I completely agree. At Banshee's media day, they were just having the stations pop in their GoPro and record the footage of them riding not live. The thing that screwed Goliath over was that the stations were waiting for a spot on their channels so they could record live.
  11. ^Yes. A bunch of soldiers marching in....you have to see it for yourself.
  12. I'm with you on that one. The gladiators were a nice touch and looked good until they came up close. They just started to pile in and it just looked bad. It would have been much more effective if they marched in to the ride's queue instead of doing some awkward trot/run. I know this is Six Flags, but I feel that if you are going to go with something, they should plan it out first.
  13. Just in case anyone who wasn't at the park today wanted to see the opening ceremony, here it is: I was pleasantly surprised by this opening ceremony. I expected just a speech, but I was wrong.
  14. ^^Exactly. Millennium forceless wins EVERY year! Now, I didn't mean to get off topic
  15. Goliath is definitely a fun one! The front is really smooth, and the back has a bit more force. I just can't wait until the heat of summer kicks in (it was cold today), and the coaster gets even better!
  16. ^^That is one of the best photos of Nitro I have seen! That approaching storm must have been interesting to ride by. The bright blue sky contrasts very nicely against the track.
  17. ^It does look like smoke.... The stickers I believe are to advertise the ride as Six Flag's coaster, so they get credit on the news stations. They put same type of stickers on Full Throttle, but then removed them shortly thereafter. Just got an email from Katy Enrique, stating the check-in time will be from 4am-noon.
  18. I do think Goliath will place over X-Flight no problem. However, you can get a really good ride out of X-Flight last row, inside seat, and left wing. I feel it is running very well this year in that seat - has a nice whip over every drop/inversion, but especially the first drop.
  19. ^Right! This is just making me laugh
  20. Usually not that crowded. Banshee's media day was about 45 min. line at most, and there were a TON of people invited to that media day. Goliath's, however, probably will not be as busy, because less people were invited.
  21. A little rain would actually make the coaster run faster, so I'm all for it!
  22. ^^Dark Knight is a good wild mouse in my opinion. If you like wild mouses, you should love this one! The theming of the ride elevates Dark Knight above other wild mouse coasters.
  23. I never really expect Kingda Ka to pull me through an amazing "poetic" and graceful layout. The ride is not like that. Kingda Ka's calling card is the extreme forces, speeds, and heights. When you strap into that front row seat, tension building for the expectation of the launch, and the launch blasts you forward as a "climax" to the rising tension, there is nothing like it. Cheeks flapping, tears forming (from high speeds), lots of fun. At the top, the height is oddly graceful and quiet, so slow at the top after hearing the wind rushing past your ears. Kingda Ka is my favorite coaster. I know it is "gimmicky", but then you can say that about Top Thrill Dragster (seems way more liked than Ka). Anyways, I just find Kingda Ka very good, and the theming around the ride is phenomenal - better than Animal Kingdom? I think so. (just my opinion, though!)
  24. I think something like Helix or Bluefire would work wonders for this park. Long layout possibly, and inversions and launches to provide something different and new to the park.
  25. Make sure you give it a few tries if you come out to Great Adventure again. The front row in the morning (1st or 2nd or 3rd train of the day) seems to run really well, and it gave me an adrenaline rush, which I normally don't get on coasters for some reason. I also feel like the more times I ride it, the more I notice how good it is. Just my opinion, though.
