  1. It would be nice if they repaved the old stretch of pavement at the front of the park (approximately from The Wave to Monster) in a similar fashion to the path near the waterpark. That is really the only bad midway stretch left in the park. Even though this would be considered a ride-related change, I think High Roller and Steel Venom could use a fresh coat of paint because HR looks ugly in some spots, and SV is looking a little bleached. I would say the same thing about the old slides in the waterpark, but I doubt it because those slides will probably be meeting the wrecking ball in a few years. I believe they have filmed a Wild Thing POV because a while ago they tweeted a picture from the top of the lift hill that looks like a POV shot. Not sure why they haven't posted it yet. They probably don't have an Excalibur POV because the other ones look like they were filmed in October (judging by the Haunt decorations and fall foliage), and the Excalibur trains were taken off the track sometime in September.
  2. Granted, but all of the coasters and thrill rides are down for maintenance the day you go. I wish for more parks with thrilling rides to be built near me.
  3. ^ Whoops, I stand corrected. The I-Box track is only for their steel coasters. The new slide tower slides have been added to VF's Fast Lane system for this season.
  4. ^ RMC makes both wooden and steel coasters. Outlaw Run and Goliath are both wooden coasters, while New Texas Giant, Iron Rattler, Medusa, Wicked Cyclone, and Twisted Colossus are steel coasters that use the structures of former wooden coasters. Both their wooden and steel coasters use I-Box track. Back on topic, I get that graffiti isn't the biggest of Valleyfair's problems, but they can't completetly ignore it. They could at least get rid of some of it now so that Renegade's queue doesn't look like a Six Flags park in a few more years.
  5. Fury 325 - Wimpy 325 Top Thrill Dragster - Top Thrill Downtime Mad Mouse - Sad Mouse High Roller - High Trimmer Superman: Ultimate Flight - Pretzel Loop: The Ride Dueling Dragons - Solo Dragons Gwazi - A Chiropractor's Dream
  6. Granted, but they are all kiddie parks. I wish for a new cell phone.
  7. I think Cannibal is going to be the sleeper hit of 2015. Even though it isn't getting that much attention outside of the enthuaiast community, it looks like it will deliver a thrilling experience, and the GP will love it. Too bad I won't be going to Utah anytime soon .
  8. On another note, I think the park really needs to do something about the graffiti in Renegade's queue line because it is disgusting to look at. The queue has the potential to look very nice, but the graffiti ruins it. Graffiti near Renegade's station (June 2014).
  9. From what I've heard, the process of a park getting a new coaster takes about two years, so if we are getting one in 2016, I'm sure they already have it planned out. If 2016 is not a coaster year, they could still be in the planning stages for something else, but I wouldn't know.
  10. At least be glad you only have two weeks left. My off-season doesn't end for two whole months. Anyway, the progress on the new park entrance is looking great.
  11. Good point. I think it's definitely possible that Kings Island could get a B&M Giga for their next coaster considering the route Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland have taken, although I don't see it happening until at least 2018.
  12. High Roller is not going to randomly collapse. Even though it's the oldest coaster in the park, it's perfectly safe and structurally sound. It looks like they're preparing to pour concrete for the new path.
  13. Wouldn't that be a little too similar to Volcano?
  14. They could probably use that land in the bottom right corner as more parking spaces if they decide to remove part of the current lot for park expansion. It would have been a good idea to build the waterpark there originally (if they owned that land at the time), but it's obviously too late for that.
  15. ^ Cedar Fair owns plenty of land north and west of the park as you can see below, but all of that land goes farther into the flood plain (anything above the blue/white line). Even though floods rarely occur during the operating season (2014 was an exception), I think VF would rather take advantage of available areas within the park first before expanding further north and west. We know that they're willing to build attractions in the flood plain, otherwise they wouldn't have built Thunder Canyon, Excalibur, and Renegade where they are, but I doubt that they will ever use all of that land they own. Taken from the City of Shakopee website.
  16. I think a B&M hyper would be more likely since they already have Intimidator 305, but a new coaster called Fury at KD wouldn't be a bad idea.
  17. I agree that the Arrows are more likely to go before High Roller, although I believe S&S still makes Arrow parts, so VF's Arrows should be okay for at least another decade or so. Excalibur would be the obvious choice for removal because it's not popular at all, never runs two trains, closes in September, and is the only coaster on the Fast Lane system. They'll eventually have to remove Corkscrew too, but they should at least wait until VF has a new inverting coaster to do so.
  18. Just wondering, do you think VF might remove High Roller sometime in the near future? I personally hope it doesn't get removed because it is still a fun ride with some decent thrills despite the trims. They really couldn't replace it with a new coaster since it doesn't take up a lot of space, and I highly doubt they would RMC it because there really isn't much they could do with it. I just have a feeling that they'd remove High Roller before any other coasters (except Excalibur).
  19. If they're starting 2016 construction already, this is awfully early. Although, this might not be related to 2016 at all since we know that Tony Clark loves teasing enthuaiasts.
  20. One day last summer, I was waiting in line for Renegade at Valleyfair, and I overheard some elementary school-age kid say "I love wooden coasters! You're more likely to fall out on them!"
  21. ^ I can't find it either, so I assume they might have deleted their account. If VFZ is indeed dead (they haven't updated their website since Haunt), I don't think it's a big loss because their content is sarcastic/satirical to the point where it's not funny anymore. Also, is it just me, or are the rest of you not able to see the webcam?
  22. Well, that tweet was made a long time ago, so I guess it's possible that Valleyfair has dropped Subway since then, which wouldn't bother me since I'm not a big Subway fan.
