  1. Something has been bothering me about the plans submitted to build the new soak city parking lot: *They're using an older map *Why have 2 staff parking lots? *The park could be further land-locking itself by bookending with parking lots. *Dave Frazier has said that he would rather not lose rides, but it looks like Excalibur's in the way of parking *Staff and guests use the same entrance road. will there be toll-free, or tolled parking? Additional security checkpoints for staff?
  2. I too, have seen the construction in the parking lot by DA. I remember last year there being some survey markings around that area as well. With the recently submitted plans to build a parking lot near the back of the park, that frees up some spots to be removed in the main lot. I wonder how well the attendance at DA has fared since Jurassic World came out and broke box office records. That could influence CF's decision to renew/let that contract go. Either way, I think that a dinosaur themed ride should replace all CF DAs.
  3. ^While I think that the park could do very well with a wing coaster, it needs a launch coaster more to round up its lineup. However a launched wing coaster...
  4. Walking around the park, I've seen markings around the Gazebo stage. Maybe the Galaxy Theater could very well be the location for our eventual dark ride with some remodeling of the Gazebo stage. Another strange, stupid idea I came up with: Chateau du Damne is usually in the Hi-Test arcade correct? With that construction behind Mad Mouse being CDD's new location, could the HTA be the dark ride spot? On the subject of Dinos Alive, the chain should replace them with Dino themed coasters/attractions to keep the theme/stores.
  5. At the park yesterday, saw some survey flags out between Excalibur and Thunder Canyon. Also, saw some next to a drainage ditch coming into the park on the path behind High Roller where the proposed new employee lot would go. On an unrelated note, during the rain yesterday, I bought a poncho at the park. When I went on Wild Thing, the poncho kept slapping the guy behind me in the face. On the on-ride picture, my poncho was blocking his face. He bought the picture. Same thing happened on High Roller.
  6. Whoo, that was a busy day. I heard that there were 60 school buses in the parking lot at about 11 am--which is about when I started today. Today is the first time that we ran all 3 towers on Power Tower this year.
  7. Can we just talk about Looping Starship for a second? I know it's the product name, but why call a Viking-themed ship "Starship?" And another thing about the park: a large number of rides have very little decorative signage. On these rides, the only place that it says the name is on the safety bulletin board and the park maps. Like Northern Lights and the Scrambler. Some food/merch stands have better signage. The trash cans have better signage and they're every five feet!
  8. On my way out of the employee parking lot yesterday, I saw that the old sign is still in the back part of the lot. It's still on site for now, if that means anything or not...
  9. A thought I had on Thursday: when the park replaces the Corkscrew, how difficult would it be to reroute the train just slightly enough for an immelman to make a loop around the Power Tower bridge?
  10. ^A number of single riders on Ferris Wheels over the past couple years have attempted suicide. It's an additional safety precaution. Or so I've heard. If I've heard incorrectly, please correct me.
  11. Here's a stupid idea for you all to completely reject: relocating the ferris wheel to Ripcord's spot. Get that new light display to show off to everyone on the road!
  12. Just a thought when I was walking back along Route 76 coming back from my break today: there are a number of open spots now over there now that could fit a ride: where Chaos was, in the Wild Thing turnaround, between the Wild Thing turnaround and the front Steel Venom spike. There's very little parking over in that area. It could fit a nice little flat ride while only losing a couple spaces. Other than that, open spaces include: where Scrambler was and where Tilter was. Some filler rides include: a Larson Flyers, a Windseeker/Starflyer whichever they go with, a Frisbee style ride, and a Zamperla Air Raid. As long as the park doesn't get a SooperLoop and call it a coaster.
  13. Yeah, our middle tower is giving us issues. It stops just short of the brakes at the top every time. At least we have another Turbo Drop!
  14. Agreed. It makes more sense to scrap Excalibur and replace it with something completely new. Let RMC start fresh on a coaster. After that B&M Invert, Soak City Phase 2, and a Larson Flyers that is. I'd also like a full-circuit launched coaster from Mack, Intamin, or Premier first as well. A new wooden coaster is probably the last thing that the park needs right now.
  15. For those of you who came out/are coming out to Power Tower this weekend to ride the Space Shot, please be patient with our frequent breakdowns. I've also heard a rumor that something is going to happen with the back of the park next season. I have no idea as to what. Maybe it has something to do with that disturbed land behind Mad Mouse? Tonight (the 16th), we had to close Power Tower about an hour and a half early due to lightning. As I was walking back to the employee dorms, I noticed Steel Venom running (private group bought out Route 76) with lightning ongoing. And I saw this after a Power Tower co-associate told a story of about how he almost got struck by lightning near Steel Venom. We are also woefully understaffed throughout the entire park. We at Power Tower keep stealing Merch and Game associates to keep two towers running (when Space Shot is active, that is). I dread that we may need to get Dave Frazier in to help when we want to open all three.
  16. I'll be working Power Tower! Can't wait to blast/drop you all!
  17. ^The pass should take care of it. If anyone comes out on Sunday, I'll be at Power Tower until 5.
  18. I caught Renegade testing today. Can't wait to make screams happen!
  19. While on the subject of Orient Express, when do we think that the next interlocking vertical loop coaster will be built, if ever and by whom?
  20. ^Going off that idea, it could be another exit in case of emergencies with all the increased traffic in the area. I don't think that it will be a full entrance due to how small that corner still is. Maybe it's a future entrance after the next phase is complete and Mad Mouse is relocated? I'm holding to the idea that Mad Mouse will be relocated to the amphitheater spot as part of Route 76 as a throw-back to Wild Rails.
  21. ^I get a feeling that our next big attraction will be either of those (after the B&M invert and Soak City phase 2 of course).
  22. When Corkscrew eventually leaves, I think that RipTide will be taken with it and the entrance to the new coaster will be in RipTide's old spot. Also, for a little bit of hope, I was looking at previous B&M invert installations--specifically the price tags. Carowind's Afterburn cost about $11 million, which in today's economy is about $17 million. Do I think that we'll be getting a $17 million coaster? No. I'm hoping for a $15 million one. In other news, where could a Zamperla AirRace go? With Carowinds essentially naming Fury 325 after the newly revamped Charlotte Hornets, Here's a couple suggestions for a Minnesota sports-themed coaster: Timberwolves: Howler Twins: ???? Vikings: Pillager Wild/Lynx: Predator
  23. ^Like some people claiming that Fury 325 is the tallest coaster in the world?
  24. Just a thought here, but when we get our B&M invert, I'm thinking it should have an immelman, vertical loop around the lift 1-2 punch that Banshee has. But only if it has at least 5 inversions. Can't have a 3 or 4-inverter with 2 of them immediately for pacing reasons.
  25. ^Garyman, I've been on several Disk'os, but never a Disk'o Coaster. But the latter's bound to be more fun right?
