  1. I didn't even read that! These are much better I agree! Some money well spent here. Now KKs flat ride selection is going to be pretty strong. Hopefully that will prompt kings island to up their game in that department. Yes! Agreed!
  2. Yay! A 130 foot Skyscreamer, and it's not the clunky mondial ones!
  3. I'm sure it will increase the crowds some, but like 2 hours before the concert things should start to clear up.
  4. I just looked up who Demi Lavato is—a Barney & Friends character? There were a bunch of people in costumes and stuff when I visited, but they didn't really draw crowds. Is this like a "meet and greet" affair? [EDIT]: Ugh. Nevermind. I see she's like a Britney Spears / Justin Bieber type thing. I could see how that would be a major problem with visiting—especially if you can hear the music. I dont care if we can hear it just dont want to deal with crowds that would go to that show. Don't know her music but I know she's a fairly big pop star. Ugh ugh ugh. :/ She's okay, but nothing to kill yourself over.
  5. Parks don't make decisions based on how rides perform in the Mitch Hawker poll... they make decisions based on what coasters are most popular with their guests and what they think will give them the best return on their investment. Wingriders seem to be very popular with the majority of guests. Even then, I don't think Six Flags will be buying a B&M in the near future. But, I have no clue.
  6. I would love to ride Mantis with half of it painted with new colors.
  7. Status: Sitting and rotting. It will probably get demolished next summer for whatever comes in 2016. If anything comes in 2016. A few people have noticed (Including myself) that an X-Flight fits perfectly in that spot. Hoping whatever comes has major theming and Gotham gets an over-hall. I doubt Six Flags will spend about $20 million on an X Flight clone. It isn't even that good of a ride.
  8. I think I'm the only one really excited about a B&M launch. I've never rode a B&M I didn't like..
  9. That show scene wasn't even realistic. How would someone put a wooden coaster on sand within inches of an ocean tide? The wood would rot or giant tides could crack the wood.
  10. I've always wondered, what is the building in between Racer's turn around(s) ?
  11. Why did Drachen Fire close anyways?
  12. It must have messed up your memory really bad.
  13. I don't know if they would invest a lot of money in the ride if they thought it wasn't going to smooth with floorless trains. Thank you. The people working on this are some of the best coaster designers and engineers in the world. Cedar Point wouldn't throw (presumably) millions of dollars at a coaster if those designers weren't confident that this would make it a better ride experience and those designers wouldn't take on a project that they felt would jeopardize their relationship with a company that's been one of their biggest customers for the last few years. These people know what they're doing... it's their job and they have an excellent reputation.
  14. I was there in August last year and a lady told her son this part of the track launched you into the loop. She said the loop was taller than the drop.
  15. 1. Batman 2. Thunderbird 3. Wicked Cyclone 4. Twisted Colossus 5. Fury 325 Not much hype for Fury since announcement week IMO. It's just a taller B&M than the park already has.
  16. Hey, it exists on Family Guy. Peters goes to SFC to ride the worlds tallest and fastest looping wooden coaster.
  17. That's great news! It's worth pointing out that that may spell the end of the ride operating in the rain like it does now. I'm assuming the reason this is the only coaster in the entire park that never shuts down for rain is because they have so many extra blocks. Most of the other coasters have been known to operate in the rain if they transfer a train off but usually they elect to wait the rain out instead and take the ride down (In some cases they run in the rain without removing trains but the policy is horribly inconsistent ). Again, this is pure speculation but it seems like the only explanation as to why this ride doesn't follow the same rain procedures as all of the other coasters. I was told by a gatekeeper ride op that Wicked Twister won't shut down unless lighting is spotted, they have a certain type of brakes. I'm not sure why, but they did shut Mantis down when it was raining last time I visited. I don't get park policies. Wicked Twister is particularly ridiculous. This ride does operate in the rain more than a lot of other rides, but keep an eye on the live cams when it rains and you'll see it close frequently (many times while Mantis still operates). This ride should never close in the rain. The brakes are all magnetic, they're all covered and most importantly there isn't another train so there's a 0% chance of an accident similar to the one on Magnum that started all of this crap. Agreed
