  1. Unless you want to count kiddie coasters. Little Rickies Twister (I believe thats what it was called) at Riverside (Before the park was flagged). I think when I first rode it i hated it but I liked it afterwards. Then my first big boy coaster was Thunderbolt which I didn't like either the first time since it gave me that sinking feeling in my stomich. But right in 2000 my sister dragged me on Superman: Ride of Steel and thats when I offically became a coaster enthusist. Now no coasters scare me. Craiggers "I was a late bloomer" K.
  2. I can see the new addition to TPR now. "Theme Park Review's Love Connection" "we pair Acer's with other Acer's"
  3. ^ ROFLMAO. Oh man, I'd love to see Max's expression if he were to read this thread. But I don't think he has joined the boards yet.
  4. ^^^wow, an omish that rebelled against technology. Or is that the amish? Craiggers "I'm Episcopalian which is Catholic-Lite, same religion, half the guilt" K.
  5. ^ no hes not.
  6. Steel 1. Superman: Ride of Steel - SFNE 2. Storm Runner - HP 3. Batman: The Dark Knight - SFNE 4. Superman: Ultimate Flight - SFGAdv 5. Nitro - SFGAdv Woodies 1. Phoenix - Knoebels 2. Twister - Knoebels 3. Lightning Racers - HP 4. Thunderbolt - SFNE 5. Cyclone - SFNE (You'd think that this would have gotten the 4th spot, but in reality, Thunderbolts smoother then Cyclone, plus Thunderbolt hasen't been destroyed by Six Flags.)
  7. After bitching at the network i finally managed to view the news package and that was amazing. I loved how the reporter got all nervous because they were rolling back. Now I can't wait to ride Kingda Ka.
  8. It's a nice park, but I noticed a big mass of people that got stuck. Between the Ball Factory and Cool bus there are probably a hundred peeps trying to find the exit but they can't. Reason: bad path layout.
  9. ^ Thanks Robb, it makes it easier to double check and edit your post if you made a mistake.
  10. ^ Also, theres a limited quantity on the Q-Bot Gold. So if you want to get one, best to get to the park before it opens so your one of the first few to be able to get the Q-Bot Gold. If you get there like 2hours after opening the Gold will probably be already sold out. I had that happen to me once at SFNE. Even when I went to the park when it opened with my dad, we got a Q-Bot gold because I told him that we'll regret it if we don't. Just so happens at noon there was a long line for Q-Bots and the line pretty much went almost all the way to the main gate.
  11. ^ I think that it would be better if it were to be called Six Flags Great Escape...Six Flags The Great Escape sounds odd.
  12. You guys are both great people to hang out with. I also can't forget the other Westcoasters I met at at the meet back in July. And going to the King of Prussia mall was a lot of fun. Craiggers "hehehe, taco bell dump" K.
  13. Ok, I fixed the pictures so here they are
  14. lets see...Six Flags Darien Lake and Great Escape are sort of on opposite sides of the state of NY. Darien Lake being near Rochester and GE is in Lake George about 240 miles from Darien Lake. Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce are about an hour and half from each other but it works in working yourself down to Pennsylvania since LC is on the way.
  15. Nooo, it should be more like "Get Dave to Eat Sugar, Win a Prize."
  16. ^ Yeah I know, but Photoshop was being a bi*ch and not letting me convert the .bmp to .jpg. Damn You Photoshop CS!
  17. I got an interesting question for you guys. What was your first impression when you met me at Knoebels?
  18. Six Flags New England in Agawam, Mass. The park is 25 minutes from my house.
  19. ^ I believe the prices are pretty much the same for each park. Heres what SFNE prices are and I think GADv is the same. One Person: $20 Two Persons: $30 Three Persons: $40 Four Persons: $50 Five Persons: $60 Six Persons: $70 Then if you want Q-Bot Gold, it's double the regular price. But I noticed on more then one occasion at SFNE (I believe during the weekdays) the regular prices are lower and I was able to get a Q-Bot gold for $20 bucks.
  20. Ok, firstly I'd like to state that this park is originally not mine. I downloaded it off Coaster-Net (Link: http://www.coaster-net.com/de/rct2/rct2parks.php ). The original creator of the park was AleX. What I did was add new coasters and such and make the layout a bit more user friendly. The original park had flaws in the paths, one of my peeves is creators who don't take the time to create easy paths to prevent patrons from getting stuck. Secondly, I edited this park by using a Trainer. I use Son of the Beast Trainer (Link: http://sob.coastergrotto.com/ ). What I do is I set one ride to 20/7/3 (Excitement/Intensity/Nausea), and click "apply to all rides". Reason I do that is because another peeve of mine is when I create this neat rollercoaster, it is too extreme for the patrons so they don't ride it and my work goes to waste. I also modify the guests by checking off all the available modifications under "Modify Guest Options" then I click "Modify Guests" I also freeze the park rating and cash which are both under the "Park" menu. Park > Park Settings for Park Rating. These modifications help make my park a great place to be and I really don't care since the trainer does help expand my creativity in creating coasters. Now onto pictures (For pictures of what the park used to look like, you can visit the coaster-net link I provided and pictures of what AleX did before I downloaded and made my additions) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/SkycoasterFreak/SCR29.bmp This is the main area of the park http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/SkycoasterFreak/SCR30.bmp This is the Seaside Midway section of the park. This area is the biggest addition to the park I did. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/SkycoasterFreak/SCR31.bmp I modified the Main St from what it originally was. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/SkycoasterFreak/SCR32.bmp This is my favorite wooden coaster I built. It's called Cyclone. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/SkycoasterFreak/SCR33.bmp My version of Superman: Ride of Steel and a impulse twisted coaster. I hope you guys enjoy my park. But keep in mind, if you do play with the park without the trainer, the patrons will not ride most of the rides since they will be too intense and then they'll become un happy since there aren't a lot of food stalls and bathrooms. [Edit] I dunno why the IMG tabs didn't work so I guess you'll have to click on the links themselves to view the pictures.[/Edit] s Oakwood Park.SV6
  21. ummmm lets see... May: Get out to Pennsylvania to hit up HP, Knoebels, Dorney Park, and SFGAdv. Summer: Hopefully California to visit SFMM, KBF, USH, DLR, and any other parks out in that area. Probably in August or something or earlier. October: This year I am going to shoot for to get down to Knoebels for PPP. Since I do have a car now. Summer: I dunno when in the summer to be exact but we will be heading out to Wisconsin for my Dad's high school reunion so we'll be hitting CP and maybe Wisconsin Dells. Hey Robb, when in August is your trip to Great Lakes area?
  22. ^ SFNE is planning to build a spinning coaster, slingshot (if it gets approved due to it's height) and a typhoon water slide which none of us know what the hell it is. http://www.rcdb.com/installationresult.htm?column=1,10,3,4,5&order=1,2&model=219 heres the link to the installations.
  23. I'm the Yankee here of New England so I can give you a little list of the parks in my area. Now there are maybe a few parks that are of good size Heres the list of the good parks in the North Eastern area. Six Flags New England - Agawam, Massachusetts Lake Compounce - Bristol, Connecticut Six Flags Great Adventure - Jackson, New Jersey Dorney Park - Allentown, Pennsylvania Hersheypark - Hershey, Pennsylvania Knoebels - Elysburg, Pennsylvania Now, SFNE and LC are about an hour drive between the two. And when it comes to SFGAdv, Dorney, HP, and Knoebels. they're within about a 2hr radius. When I went down to Pennsylvania last summer I found that from the town I was staying in (Langhorne, PA) HP and Knoebels were both a 2hr drive. Six Flags Great Adventure is about a 30-45 minute drive, and Dorney Park is about a 45 minute drive. If you were to plan a North East trip, it's probably best to start from the north and pretty much work yourself down. You got two International airports in the New England that gives you good access to. But if I had to choose I would suggest trying to fly into Bradley International which is only 20 minutes south of SFNE and it's easier to get in and out of then Logan International which is in Boston. I hope that helps a bit in trying to plan out a trip, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I can give you more info.
  24. I voted for Kingda Ka, reason being is I never ridden Top Thrill Dragster so Kingda Ka will be a new experience for me. Also, since it's currently the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world, it's only a 3hr drive from my house compared to Cedar Point which I blieve is a 10hr drive. Plus I have friends/relatives that are about 30 minutes drive from the park so I can stay with them.
  25. I was the first General Public rider on Superman: Ride of Steel after they re-opened it after the accident and the modifications they made. Craiggers "I sat right behind the death seat...Would have sat in the death seat if the front row wasn't roped off in respect to the family" K.
