  1. ^ I hope so, I really like more of a reason to get out and visit the park when I'm in the St. Louis area.
  2. Only thing is, Six Flags corporate can say all these things about expanding the park, but are they actually going to go through with it?
  3. I think the only thing that disappoints me is the fact that Will Koch's last project ultimately failed. However, I don't think Will would have wanted the park to continue with the project if it wasn't going to work. I consider The Voyage to be Will's ultimate masterpiece, considering he had such a big hand in the design. I hope the park finds a way to get the ride running in top form for a long time. Whether that's a full re-track, topper track, or new trains. I consider the layout and design of the ride to be one of the best in the world and you be hard pressed to find better terrain for a coaster. I can't think of one coaster that has a mid-course break run 10 feet off the ground, but it sits a good 100 feet above the station. The potential is there, hopefully the park can find the right solution and keep Will's masterpiece running world class for a long time.
  4. ^ Holiday World takes care of the Voyage, it's very evident at the beginning of every season. Those trains just tear the track apart over the course of the season. Last year was the first year I went in May, June, and August. The ride I got in May was great, the one in June was rougher, and August gave me a hell of a back massage and my sister a jarring headache.
  5. ^ You make a great point. I don't think the park wants to use the Voyage as a testing lab for another coaster train again.
  6. I like to see the park purchase a set of RMC trains for the ride and start putting on topper track a little at a time. I think the the earliest will see anything done will be 2015, but whatever the park chooses to do, I'll be supportive and understanding.
  7. I think we're at the point where the other wooden coaster companies are going to have to come up with their own track design to meet the modern demands of wooden roller coasters. If they don't, they're going to probably find themselves out of business.
  8. I look at it like this, 165 feet tall, 3 world records, and Six Flags obsession with YOLO = Premier launched coaster.
  9. Good news is, Holiday World listens to the coaster enthusiasts. Hopefully Paula is giving the head brass the overwhelming feedback to get RMC in there and work their magic on The Voyage.
  10. If it was a brand new woodie, I think you guys would already see footers and quite possibly bents going up. It took RMC almost a year to build Outlaw Run.
  11. I went back and watched the 2010 IAAPA interview with the Gravity Group and they said that there was to much motion in the seat area ( ). I went looked for some pictures of the trains to see how they have evolved since the first model in 2010. The structure on the back of the seats is the one thing that has consistently changed since 2010. I don't wanna make any assumptions, but it looks to me that the Gravity Group could never design a seat support system to contain the motion in that area while it was running on the Voyage. I could be wrong though. Edit: If they got the trains running on something as rough as Hades 360, they might have solved the seat motion issue. This was the first model that was brought to the park in May of 2010. Notice how there is little structure on the seat. This is the same train in Nov. of 2010 when the train took its first riders. Notice the added structure on the back of the seat. These are the Timberliners on Wooden Warrior in 2011. It appears to have the same structure on the back of the seat as the picture above. Hades 360 Timberliners. It appears to have the same seat structure as Wooden Warrior. This is the Wooden Warrior in 2012. Notice the added seat structure This is the Timberliner train that tested on The Voyage this spring. It also had the added seat structure.
  12. ^^ RMC can probably put topper track anywhere the park wants I think it needs to be noted that this RMC topper track is all just speculation at this point. The park might be content with The Voyage as it is right now.
  13. Probably a good amount of money, but look at it like this. The park would probably spend the same amount of money maintaning the Voyage over the next 10 years if they don't put on the topper track.
  14. You have to think that HW has been following the Timberliners on Hades 360. The whole goal with this project was to make the Voyage re-rideable and it's very evident from all the reports from Hades 360, that it's not re-rideable or rideable at all. If the trains can't make the coaster re-rideable, it doesn't make sense for the park to continue with the project. I think they should now focus their money on permanently fixing the Voyage with RMC track and trains.
  15. ^ Funny thing is, the last few years, nobody would even consider that a possibility because of the parks relationship with TGG. Now you have to wonder if this is a real possibility.
  16. You know I can't even begin to think of all the money the park has wasted on these trains. Not just the trains themselves, but the extra costs for testing and the extra wear and tear they may have put on the track.
  17. To be quite honest, after hearing all the reports on Hades 360, I kind of expected this. Edit: I also have to wonder if this is where RMC enters the picture.
  18. ^If it's Premier, it has been a problem for the last couple of ride that have opened at Six Flags parks. Full Throttle http://rcdb.com/10948.htm Superman Ultimate Flight http://rcdb.com/10139.htm
  19. Makes sense for Six Flags. Coaster won't open until late June if it's true.
  20. ^ I know that. I'm saying if there was a spot in the ride where you had a chance to really catch your breath, it wouldn't seem as rough.
  21. I think all these photos are definitely questionable. That being said, Lance over at Screamscape isn't stupid. I don't think he would have posted these photos if they didn't have some type merit behind them.
  22. I really hope the park doesn't go all Kings Island and makes up a fake logo and webpage to try and add more speculation. In my opinion, that almost confirmed it was Banshee and would do the same for this supposed Blue Iron Eagle.
  23. It has been quite cool here in Illinois for the last few days. Very weird for August, but you're right. It hasn't been cold enough to warrant a hoodie.
