  1. It's just an animation, it'll be the newer shin bars. They were put on Goliath, Medusa, and Outlaw Run received them during the off-season last year. If everything was to look exactly like it did on the animation, the breaks would be invisible, right?
  2. According to Dan's twitter, they started testing Rampage on Saturday!
  3. ^ Honestly not going to miss it one iota. Empty concrete pad might be a better attraction.
  4. The first over-banked turn is starting to go up!
  5. I agree as well. There was a picture a couple months ago when they were pouring the footings for the S-Curve and it really showed how close the trees will be to the ride. Much better than the animation did. After seeing some of the work PGAV destinations (the company that has designed all the theming for Thunderbird), I have no doubt that that the whole area is going to enhance the ride experience.
  6. Looking at the shaping of that green side high-five, I'm willing to bet it's going to have outward (maybe ejector) airtime. Much like the wave turn on Outlaw Run.
  7. Love the response Edit: Oh and look what has crossed The Voyage. From Holiday World's Twitter: Double Edit: HW posted this video of the loop being topped off. Kudos to the park, they really got some great footage of this thing being topped off! I'm really looking forward to the seeing what type of B-Roll and POV footage they put together in the spring now.
  8. Sorry to double post, but Holiday World is finally on Google Street View. I know I've seen a few questions on here about where stuff is specifically at in the park on here, so now those who have questions can take a virtual walk in the park!
  9. ^ Yeah maybe something similar to PP, but not similar to PP if that makes any sense. Something that actually delivers a real splashdown. Still waiting on that splashdown that is 30 feet high and 90 feet wide lol What are the chances this loop gets topped off today? They may have to work past 6 p.m if they wanna get it done today.
  10. ^ I'm sure they have plans for the station and land that the ride occupied. They probably are not sure what they exactly want to do with it at this point. Right now, I'd say it makes more sense to just turn it into a huge water fountain type of thing. They sort of did that already, but they can definitely make it more elaborate if they wanted to. As for Frightful Falls, part of me hopes they team up with Sally Corp and remodel it into a half-log flume/half dark ride type of thing. I think that would be really cool and would restore one of the original rides from when the park was renamed Holiday World. I would not complain if they removed the ride and replaced it with something else though.
  11. The crane just pulled up. Ready to see this loop get completed!
  12. Absolutely: Holiday World Six Flags St. Louis Kings Island Probably: Silver Dollar City Six Flags Great America Maybe: Kentucky Kingdom
  13. I think this is the most exciting part about the whole thing! They have the supports laid out and even already have the straps on the next piece of track. Just waiting on the crane to get up there I guess. Definitely no weather issues today.
  14. Some great shots of the fall colors at Holiday World. Oh and Thunderbird as well. From HW's Facebook:
  15. Holiday World is my home park and I always enjoy reading other peoples thoughts about the park. Just a few notes, The Legend has apparently been without it's second train since it stalled on the first anti-rollback in early June. Nobody has seen it since and it really has been a capacity killer for the ride. Holiday World is lacking in the flat-ride department. With the addition of Thunderbird being so far away from the Thanksgiving section, I'm hopeful that we're going to see several rides fill in between. I love that you put great detail into this report and the others as well. I've really enjoyed reading the reports so far and look forward to reading more.
  16. Apart from the rain today, I think the wind is what really kept them from being able to do anything. Paula even tweeted about how it looked like ThunderbirdCam was nodding in approval of the loop coming together. They look prepared to get the loop done as soon as the weather permits. Unfortunately after that, I don't think we're gonna be able to see a whole lot until they get to the carousel through the barn. Of course, this is all pending on where they move the construction cam, if that's still happening. I believe Paula said they plan on moving it north and east. Should be interesting to see where it's placed if they do move it.
  17. Just trust the engineers, okay? As for me, It's Thunderbird. It will be the only one I'll be riding next year and it's being built at my home park. So that pretty much makes it #1 for me as far as new attractions are concerned. I am however looking forward to reading reviews and hearing peoples thoughts on Wicked Cyclone, Twisted Colossus, and Fury 325.
  18. ^ Lol Yeah I did see some of it, but I wasn't really interested in hearing from butt hurt people over a ride being removed. I guess the difference between Twitter and Facebook for me is that I actually have to click on the posts on Twitter to read the replies, where the comment section is just kinda of there on Facebook. I guess it's easier for me to ignore them on Twitter, so I probably just don't see as many of the idiots as you do.
  19. Back seat, 5th drop on The Raven in the dark.
  20. If I counted correctly (which is hard when you don't have much time to keep track of construction) they added three pieces today, which would put them at 28/77 pieces. I'm really enjoying keeping count for some reason. Can't believe how much they got done today, the rain we had in this area was just insane, as where the storms (nice try, Thunderbird ). Also, I love the report from Happy Halloween Weekends. Really love that HW is putting an emphasis on the kids when so many parks are focused on being as scary as possible.
  21. My first was The Legend at Holiday World, my last will hopefully be The Voyage if doesn't try and kill me first. My first in 2015 will be Thunderbird!
  22. Those are great pictures! Saw another picture on Twitter and I was wrong, they actually have 25/77 pieces put in place, which if my math is correct (keep in mind I'm a history major, so there is a good chance I could be wrong), that would mean they have about 1/3 of the ride completed. That's awesome considering that it's only October and HW's season isn't even over yet.
  23. Yep she "retired" from HW and went with Dan to Alabama. Really odd seeing her there.. It was best for both parties though
  24. This, just this. People just like pages for no reason without really looking into what the page is about. They then make stupid comments on posts without having any knowledge of what they're talking about or in this case, just don't even watch the video before commenting. As far as Social Media is concerned, Twitter is where it's at. Seems like there are less idiots on Twitter.
