  1. Maybe the mystery Top Scan at Carowinds is actually heading to the old Hang Time or Screaming Swing spot... I wish haha.
  2. Great Bear @ Herhsey I was terrified for some reason.
  3. It seems like we were in the park at the same time Friday night. My BF and I arrived around 8:50Pm and rode Skyrush three times (without getting up) before heading back to Laff Track to ride it for the second time of the season. We got off when the park was closed so we were probably in line with you! Glad you have a great trip! You are absolutely right about Sidewinder my BF refused to ride it even though I told him it has received new restraints since he rode it last.
  4. Well I finally ended up going to the park this weekend for the first time and it was probably the best decision I have made in a long time. My friend and I left Pennsylvania around 8pm on Saturday night and drove a little north of Richmond and stayed at a hotel for the night. We left the hotel a little before 9am and got to the park around 10:15am. I have been to both Sea World Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa and wasn't too impressed with these parks, but upon entering the park I was completely blown away with how different the Williamsburg park was going to be! I love the height check stations disguised as phone booths! We ran straight for Tempesto to get it out of the way since it was low capacity. The line was about 60 people deep and we waiting about 10 minutes. The operators moved very quickly to get trains dispatched. I thought the ride was fun and was glad to knock one of these Premier creations off of my list, but I wouldn't run to reride it. The public RAVED about this ride all day though. From here we hit Apollo's Chariot in the back. This ride was fun, but it isn't as intense as I was hoping. After Apollo we headed towards Verbolten, but I wanted to ride Davinci's Cradle after missing Buzzsaw at SFNE. This ride was run and looked to have a more tame cycle than the one at SFNE, but I'm glad I finally got to ride one of these flying carpet rides. We hit Verbolten in the Back of the Green train. The ride was a lot of fun, but it was very rattle heavy after the show building. Great fun and the building caught my friend by surprise Next we hit MachTower and had a nice view of all of the Howl o Scream props being built and staged in the fenced off Areas. We hit Verbolten again in the middle of the train with no wait and then we decided it was time to have a Pretzel. After this we headed to Alpengeist which had our longest wait of the day because somebody decided to have too much beer before riding and spew it all over the station. We were in row 5 and I thought this ride was great and really wanted to ride it in the front. We decided to come back later when the line was shorter and wait for the front. After this we rode Le Scoot with a 20 minute wait and then headed towards Griffon. We ended up in the third row and we both enjoyed this ride tremendously. After this we ran to Loch Ness Monster where I had my clavicles destroyed by the restraint since I'm 6'3", but I really enjoyed the theming and the charm to the ride. After this we decided to hit Pompeii twice which was a lot of fun and try Roman Rapids, but the line for the rapids wasn't moving so we decided on lunch. After lunch we took the train back to the back side of the park and did some shopping and hit Griffon in the front which was absolutely incredible. It was about 3:30pm at this point so we decided to do the wine tasting in France which resulted in us doing the tasting in Germany and England as well. After that we decided a glass of wine would be great and then we rerode Verbolten and Mach Tower a little tipsy They were both great fun. After both of those we decided on a pretzel and a beer and ventured to Alpengeist which we rode in the front with a one train wait. This ride is AMAZING. The elements, the speed, and height are crazy. I will easily put this over Banshee as my favorite invert! Following Alpengeist we rode Le Scoot twice in a row and then ran to Griffon at 7:45p with no wait. We rushed off the ride and ran to Ireland to catch the last showing of Celtic Fyre for the day. After the show we ran to Loch Ness for a night ride, Griffon for two night rides, and then over to Alpengeist in the back row for 3 rides in a ROW! On the third ride we were treated to the fireworks show going up the lift. After the ride we watched the end of the fireworks show, hit Mach Tower again, and then rode Verbolten in the dark. Verbolten is a completely different ride in the dark! After verbolten it was about 9:54. From Verbolten we SPRINTED (just like all of the BGW advertisements) over to Appolo's Chariot to get the last two rides of the night in the back row! This ride was also much better at night. Needless to say I was very impressed with this park and their commitment to their guests. Every employee was friendly and willing to help. One thing I really liked was the headsets the operators had on allowed them to communicate without having all of the guests hear their conversations. Six Flags America could benefit from this so I don't have to hear Darnell complaining that he can't put his two weeks notice in because McDonalds won't hire him back over the microphone on Roar (This happened at my last visit to SFA) I think we encountered one rude employee and she was the tram driver yelling at people walking in front of the tram so I don't blame her. Yesterday 8/31 we went to Water Country USA. It was drizzling when we arrived at 10:15am and continued to do so until about noon. The park was not crowded and what could have been a miserable day for guests and operators was not. All of the operators were very pleasant and ready to make a conversation with you. The park was great and we were fortunate enough to ride everything multiple times with minimal waits. We ended up leaving at 1:30pm which got us back into Pennsylvania at 6:30. Callosal Curl was a lot of fun and unexpected since it was my first wave wall slide like this. I unfortunately took very few and very POOR quality pictures or I would post them. I smell a return visit happening next year for sure!
  5. I'd say it's a coin toss. Monday should be the slowest day for either park. That's what I imagined. It's my first visit ever and he has been since 2009 so it's going to be exciting regardless of our plan of attack. Thanks!
  6. Ok dumb advice time...! I'm heading to the park Sunday into Monday from Pennsylvania. I think we are leaving around 7am Sunday to get there around 11am. My questions is should we do the Park on Sunday and then go Water Country USA all day Monday, or should we switch the days. I really want to do my park and my friend really wants to do the water park..... I'm expecting crowds since people are squeezing their last vacations in. Thanks
  7. Roller Soaker- Hershey Laser- Dorney Hercules- Dorney Hypersonic- Kings Dominion Shockwave- Kings Dominion Thunder Road- Carowinds Rolling Thunder - SFGADv GASM- SFGADV Does Cyclone at William's Grove count??
  8. The train, flume, and Sky Screamer were on the to do list after the water park but the other half wasn't feeling it. He had too much tequila the night before and the heat was taking its toll on him...... Next summer.....
  9. Went to the park this past Sunday and I'm just getting back to posting some thoughts. This was my first visit EVER and it was probably one of the best Six Flags parks I've been to with my count of only SFA, SFGADV, SFNE, and now SFFT. We got to the park at 10:20 after driving from downtown San Antonio and were in the gates around 10:35 headed straight for Batman. The ride was cycling empty and was closed with a fun operator running the line outside the building letting everyone know that it was currently closed. We ended up waiting with about 100 other people for it to open and then just shy of 11 the ride opened. It was only about an additional 10 minute wait and we were on. My thoughts on the ride were that it was insanely fun! Yes it's short, but the ride made us grin and laugh the entire time and that is why we love coasters! After this we got our first of 3 warm waters............. This was not fun even when we asked for cold water we got warm ones from all different booths 3 different times throughout the day.... We hit Superman next with a 5 minute line. This was a lot of fun as well and the interaction with the surroundings was a lot of fun. Can somebody explain the "shoes most go with you" and rudeness of the operators at SFFT about this rule? I've been on many B&M floorless and inverted coasters that don't have this rule. Is this a Texas thing? I've only ever experienced this working on Tidal Force at Hershey and that was because if the ride needs to evacuate the steps are abrasive to your feet. I'm assuming it's along the same line here? We hit Iron Rattler next and this was my second RMC. This was a completely different experience than Wicked Cyclone which is really cool to think about. We sat in the 2nd to last row which was absolutely incredible. The air over the hills was amazing. I can't wait to see how RMC keeps changing their style over the years. After this we hit Road Runner Express which was unexpectedly fun, Poltergeist which felt like it had and extremely slow launch, and then Goliath where we encountered rude ops yelling about shoes again..... I get it people don't listen to you, but don't get nasty and have an attitude over the mic about it.... From here we went to the car and changed quickly before briefly hitting the wave pool and mat racer before leaving. The park was starting to fill up now. We ended up leaving ar 2:15pm. It was a great visit and hopefully another is in the future once a move to Austin happens.
  10. I'm heading to the park for the first time this Sunday. After reading through I have a few questions. How does Fiesta Texas handle Gold Pass Early entry? I know SFA has a separate line that they allow you to walk through, and SFNE had ropes that they would stop the GP at and then check your pass and allow you to walk through. Our plan is to head to Batman first and then just hit up Iron Rattler afterwards and then just knock the rest out casually. It looks like it is going to be about 97 degrees Sunday so I am going to expect the waterpark to be packed. My partner loves water parks so I'm trying to make the trip fair for both of us Regardless I'm very excited to visit this park!
  11. Went to the park this weekend and had a blast. I have never been before and rode my first RMC and GIB. A few random things we encountered.... The park was crowded but managable and we went on a Friday. Many of the operators (thunderbolt and Wicked Cyclone) were sending out empty rows with one train running on both and pretty large lines. This was practice at Lake Compounce as well and pretty annoying, but we found a trend of the general public not wanting to fill in all of the rows? For example there were two empty rows and the girls in front of us refused to move or go into them after politely asking them to go in them or if we could take those rows????? Regardless of that Goliath was our first stop before opening and we waiting for the front. I was expecting this to be painful but it was a lot of fun. After this we headed to Wicked Cyclone for about a 15 minute wait and 1 train running. We sat right in the middle and had a great ride. Really fun and a different experience! From here we thought about Pandemonium but the line was full so we headed to Thunderbolt with a 35 minute wait.... It was fun... We walked back to Bizarro with a posted 30 minute wait, but we waiting about 10 for the last row. This ride was great!!! Exceeded my expectations! We hit Gotham City Gauntlet and Catwoman's Whip while we were in the area which were both fun, and then we headed to the waterpark for a little which was PACKED but still a good time. After the waterpark we headed over to Pandemonium, Wicked Cyclone, and New England Sky Screamer. 2 trains were running for Wicked Cyclone so we rode it in the front and then as soon as we got back in line it went down and 1 train was removed so we left the line as it was pretty long. So we hit up the scrambler and then sucked up the courage to try the Sky Screamer which ended up being fun and not as terrifying as I had expected ( I hated the Sky Screamer at GADV and all of the Windseekers I've been on). We then walked back to Dark Knight right at the water park's closing time and ended up waiting 30 minutes for what was one of the better floorless coasters that I've been on. I liked it more than Rougarou but not as much as Dominator. Then we headed out around 7:15. Overall it was a great first visit, but I don't see myself going back in the near future. Oh and you can seriously buy beer almost anywhere in this park. The above posts are absolutely accurate
  12. Is anyone interested in meeting up at the park later tonight? I'm thinking about going around 5:30-6 and wouldn't mind meeting up with somebody from the area. I figured it would be worth a shot to post here Thanks
  13. I had the pleasure of visiting the park this weekend for the first time since 2007! Drove from PA Friday morning and stayed on-site at lighthouse point and left Sunday morning. It was unique seeing the park from a resort stand point as my last visit we stayed in a dumpy hotel for a few days. Not going to go into details, but I was pleasantly surprised by Gatekeeper after reading all of the mixed reviews on it. Rode it first thing Friday night when we arrived in the back left seat. It was my first wing rider and a lot of fun. The park has changed for the better since I was there and Maverick is still my favorite. There were a lot of breakdowns through out the weekend, TTD up and down both days for rain and other issues (we were lucky to wait 10 minutes for a ride after a quick rain delay), Maverick down most of Friday night, Skyhawk had a cherry picker and maintainance on it all weekend, Magnum stuck on lift Saturday, Blue Streak Stuck on lift for 15 mins when we got in line, and so on. Still had a great time. Wicked Twister was testing while we were in line for Windseeker. Also met a really nice group of people from Nashville who were talking to us about Dollywood and Holiday World while in line as well. If you are reading HI! On another note after my visit to Canada's Wonderland last year I have been terrified of Windseekers for some unknown reason. After riding the CP version I wasn't as terrified, but I think the full ride and the gorgeous view may have had something to do with that. I'll see if I can suck up the courage to ride New England Sky Screamer in July.....
  14. I can't wait to ride this and visit SFNE for the first time in July!!!!
  15. It was a blast this was my 8th trip to WGI and we pretty much drove by KI with the team last year so I had to make it a point to go this year! Hopefully next year there will be more time so I don't have race around the park!
  16. I went to the park on Saturday with my partner. We were in Dayton for WGI Thursday-Sunday and had planned to go on Sunday before the schedule was up for 2015, but obviously that didn't work as the park was closed. So we ended up getting there around 9:15am to take advantage of early entry and get back to Dayton by 2pm. This was our first trip to KI ever and it was great for how quick it was. Park was obviously crowded as shown in the earlier posts. It really reminded me a lot of Kings Dominion especially in the area by Shake Rattle and Roll. We hit Banshee first before opening with about a 15 minute wait and then booked it to Bat since it was 5 mins before opening and there wasn't a line and just continued to meander around the park before leaving at 11:45. After bat we hit adventure express with no wait and honesly had a blast on it!!! Was not expecting it to be fun as I have trailblazer in my back yard which is just ok (the 2nd lift animatronics are interesting). After this we headed to Firehawk with absolutely no wait! This was much more uncomfortable than Batwing to me. The ride broke down after we got off so we tried to hit FOF but the line was about 35 minutes so we headed towards Vortex. This had about a 5 minute line. It was much better than Anaconda, but still uncomfortable. We finished up the day with a 25 minute wait for The Beast. I was honestly looking forward to this ride the most and so was my partner. Definitely loved the ride! The layout and terrain were great. Extremely enjoyable!! We just laughed and smiled the whole time. Wish we would have gotten a night ride on it, but we were lucky enough to get a few hours in at the park. After that we headed towards Diamondback, but with a full queue and what seemed to be slow operation we decided to grab a pretzel and some waters then head back to Dayton. It was obvious the staff was still being trained, but the highlight was the poor girl at the Auntie Annes booth. We needed $4.36 cents in change. She pulled out a quarter, two dimes, and six pennies. She put this back..... She then grabbed two dimes and the rest of the change in pennies The trainer came over and told her no no and grabbed a quarter, dime, nickle, and a penny.... Poor girl I hope she gets the concept of handing the least amount of coins by May!
  17. My first was the Tickler at Coney Island back in April, and my last was yesterday at Knoebels on Phoenix.
  18. Maybe something like the Demon Ride at La Ronde with the hot sauce flames and all!
  19. Ten minutes from the rotting Williams Grove Cyclone or 15 minutes from Hershey
  20. Is the Knotts price with a season pass only for a Knotts Pass, or would my Platinum Pass qualify me for that price as well? (stupid question)
  21. I was at Dorney yesterday for a Color Me Rad race and to get my platinum pass processed. It was quite a fun day and my group took about 1.5 hours in the park after the race then headed home. Snake Pit is a lot larger than I expected it to be with pieces of the constrictor slide in the lot still. The race ran through Wildwater Kingdom and there is quite a bit of work left on the complex, but it shouldn't be much longer until it is finished. As for Stinger the train was no where to be seen. The race ran through the maintenance areas with the doors open and you still couldn't see the trains anywhere. I wonder if we will see stinger up anytime soon, or removed! *fingers crossed*
  22. I was at the park today for the first time ever and saw them lifting the supports in place as well. It was a pretty cool area considering I've never been to Coney Island the 7 times I've been to NYC. Rode my first volare (would be great without the inversions), SteepleChase was a lot of fun the launch seemed extremely intense, Air Race was great, and the Cyclone was way better than I expected it to be! All of them employees seemed really happy and had some very personable conversations with my group while we were in line. I had a great experience and hope to go back in a year or two to ride the new Thunderbolt and whatever else we are surprised with!
