  1. ^ HoliWood Nights is May 29 & 30 next year - our theme is "Track to the Future." Info - and our lame attempts at humor - are being added daily here: http://HolidayWorld.com/Clubs
  2. ^ We are, however, quite appreciative that all indications are for a beautiful weekend, as we're still open for our Happy Halloween Weekends. The view while riding Voyage will never be the same!
  3. Mother Nature isn't cooperating this week. But ... it could be as early as tomorrow afternoon.
  4. ^ When it's black and white, it's because there's not enough light out yet for the camera to display all of its technicolor glory (early morning, late evening, very overcast, etc.). ^^ We moved the cam a few weeks ago - the SplashCam became the ThunderbirdCam. It's interactive, so you can zoom in on various portions of construction. Thanks!
  5. ^ Oh, but I'm so glad you were willing to be that guy. Glad you like the photos - risked life and limb to take a few of them (during Thunderbird's pre-topping memo to us).
  6. ^ Um, sorry, but we're on Central Time. Also, this is all #WeatherPermitting ... so it won't happen till it happens.
  7. ^ ... which should coincide nicely with my nervous breakdown. #WeatherPermitting
  8. ^ Or simply subscribe to our HoliBlog: http://www.HolidayWorld.com/HoliBlog ... for regular updates. Because we go, you know, behind the scenes. And for all of you asking about the webcam (except for the guy who called me corporate - when I was home sick as a dog, no less - and is now banned from the park and added to Santa's Bad Boy List), we were still in discussion earlier this week so I didn't know and therefore couldn't say, but right now our IT Team is moving the SplashCam over to the entrance to the Snowy White Gravel Road for a nice wide shot of Thunderbird and future interactive fun.
  9. ^ I guess we'll all find out soon.
  10. ^ Its current position gives us very little "play," but we're pretty sure we'll leave it in place until the Immelmann is complete and the 125' loop. Then the webcam itself will be moved north and east. Should be a big week!
  11. Kids these days - so demanding! The webcam will be moved eventually, because the structure for the Immelmann loop (please note spelling and capitalization for future use) will take up most of the view. But not just yet, because then you'll complain that the shot is too wide and you can't see what brand of work shoes the construction guys are wearing each day. You know you will. Just know that we're aware and will make it work as best we can regarding zoom, tilt and pan (as long as you do your part and work on your spelling and capitalization).
  12. Well, thank you! I was the first in my Girl Scout troop to earn the Pen Pal badge back in 4th grade, so the "stay in touch" thing has been with me for a long time. Regarding moving the webcam, I'm not sure that's in the plans at this point - since the rest of the track is, you know, out in the woods and away from civilization.
  13. They were showing off ... several higher-ups from B&M corporate offices were here for a meeting today. I'm half surprised one of you eagle-eyes didn't recognize them!
  14. They kept the track there in Cincy, even though they were ready to start delivering it. We didn't want to take delivery until after the announcement.
  15. ^ Thanks - it took us a few months to fill our open Digital Media Developer position, put Stephen's on board now and can't wait to do more.
  16. ^ Please watch future "Hard Hat Chronicles" episodes for answers to that and other coaster-nerd questions.
  17. ^ Please check with GOCC with any questions.
  18. Anyone drooling at the thought of a Thunderbird construction tour? Club TPR members are invited to GOCC's fall event here on September 20 (Voyage ERT, too). There's only a week or so to sign up, though, so don't delay!
  19. The audio feed didn't work right that day, so most of the interview included Will trying to hear Colbert's questions, with a confused look. They used that. We ended up blogging about the Colbert Report enough that it gained its own tag: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/tag/colbert_report/
  20. ^ Yes it it. You know what it feels like when you reach inside your clothes dryer when the towels are still damp? Yeah, it's like that. Summer has arrived. ^^^ We're saving little details like that, Tyler, for future episodes of the Hard Hat Chronicles. They'll resume in a few weeks, as our new digital media developer comes online (pun intentional) early next month.
  21. We just made him a new name tag ... he's the Whizzer of Claus.
  22. I don't remember commenting on that; frankly, I don't think I would have. But on a different topic, yes - we definitely plan to release the Thunderbird Theme for download. Would anyone be interested in a ringtone? If so, which portion of the song should it be? Not sure I could give up my beloved "Holiday Road" ringtone ... but I guess I could use both. (Heck, I keep my phone on stun all the time anyway. But once in a while, when the earbuds are in ... ahhh! I've missed calls because I'm so happy listening to Holiday Road.)
  23. If I'm out there? What - did you think I vaporized after the announcement or something? Glad you like the music! One of my brothers is a music composition professor - we hired one of his former students to compose our Thunderbird theme. Talented guy!
  24. Thank you. It was too much to tell during the announcement, but it was always there.
