  1. It's the journaling mother onboard the Mayflower ... we call her the Mayflower Madame.
  2. ^ You betcha! We embrace our weirdness. And our ability to spell it.
  3. ^ You folks get the credit for this one - I didn't know either until a few days ago.
  4. ^ Early in the season, we use 6-car trains - as they're easier on the track. As capacity needs dictate, we add the seventh car to each train.
  5. Thanks - we're sort of giddy about it.
  6. Years ago, some enthusiasts were visiting during the winter months and one talked about having to miss our Stark RAVEN Mad event because of a college exam. I joked that I'd be glad to write a note for his teacher. Gads - he took me up on it! I did write the letter - it was very soft and "education is very, very important" and I felt like a crumb. But I just wanted to affirm that there really was an event that day. And by golly, the prof let the enthusiast take his exam early! But I'm never offering to do that again ...
  7. I don't want to be responsible for truancy - go to bed and get a good night's sleep!
  8. I'm actually the only one who knows exactly when. I get to push the button. But I'm not telling ...
  9. You're welcome! What was your favorite part? ... and did you take note we had not one - but two - types of gravy on the buffet?
  10. Um ... May 19 is my birthday. Sweet party favors, huh? Meanwhile, if you've ever considered subscribing to the HoliBlog (via email or RSS), today would be a really good day to do that.
  11. ^ For more information about HoliWood Nights (and to register), please visit: http://www.HolidayWorld.com/Clubs
  12. ^ ... and what's a Thanksgiving-themed section without a Mayflower? Shortest ride-naming meeting ever!
  13. All of this wild speculation brings me back to an earlier time.
  14. ^ Any old-timers here remember our Y2K quest for coaster-enthusiast input? It was long ago ... we ended up with 200 emails and letters (one was 16 pages long and hand-written, as I recall). Will Koch read every last one and discussed with CCI. So if you don't like The Legend, you have only yourselves to blame!
  15. ^ All I can say is I got calls and texts from everyone who rode it today and there was a lot of excitement. And that's the truth!
  16. ^ Self-promotion doesn't have to be untrue, you know? Matt called me all excited after his first Voyage ride of the season - and I gave him a hard time (in my ever-so-charming way) for not taking photos for me to post. So we created a graphic by him texting me what he'd just told me on the phone. Thanks for following us!
  17. ^ We have one water tower (the yellow one - easy to miss, I know). I think you've got the information a bit out of order, sorry. The flap was when the town was changing water systems - a new water source was needed (even if you factored the park out of the equation) and there was some resistance.
  18. If you'd like to attend, please be sure join our HoliWood Nights Facebook page and add your name to the list. That's where we'll post updates, too. Thanks, Paula
  19. She was getting her hair done. Nice to know I'm needed here at TPR. Back in the office now. This isn't a Holiday World project, so it wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment, except to say we wish them a safe and successful endeavor.
  20. ^ Wildebeestro is actually quite close to Kima Bay. West to east on the east side of Bahari wave pool, there's a restroom building and soft drink oasis, then Wildebeestro, a few cabanas, and then Kima Bay.
  21. ^ Thanks! We're really excited. The story behind the naming of Wildebeest is told here on our HoliBlog.
  22. Indeed. We tweeted about it a while back - thanking everyone who pestered Google to update their satellite image of the park. I was going to post it on our Google+ page, too, but they might have taken it personally ...
  23. Here's one we blogged about several years ago: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2010/06/20/laughter-goes/
  24. Since TPR prides itself on having a sense of humor, anyone want to take a whack at this caption contest? You know you want to.
  25. Nah, nothing that dramatic. We just want to provide a more festive entrance to Thanksgiving and to lessen the view of our behind-the-scenes roads.
