^ Will playing bass with the Beachcombers is one of my favorite memories. He stepping in so that my son (the bass player for the group that first year) could attend his high school graduation. John would have preferred to skip graduation and watch Will play, though! (We did run over to catch a set before it was time to get John in his cap and gown.) The Beatle's "Day Tripper" still chokes me up.

^ Thanks so much - I have a feeling she'll take a look at this thread tomorrow if not tonight. We've all gotten quite a charge out of reading the musings on here.

^ When I took Leah's photo for the post this afternoon, she did that and it brought back so many great memories of her dad. She's her father's daughter, that's for sure!

^ Here's the story: The reporter arrived with the assignment to ask Matt about Goliath and how it's toppling Voyage's records. I explained up front that it wasn't taking away our "most air-time on a wooden coaster" record -and that Voyage didn't hold any other measurable records. I even told him about how our "steepest drop" record lasted only a month (El Toro opened several weeks after Voyage did). I gave him rcdb.com as a good place to go to check all the specifics. When he interviewed Matt, he didn't bring up any records, just asked what he thought about the new ride. I'm guessing whoever provided the assignment back in the newsroom didn't double-check the facts we provided and they ran with their original (mis)information.

Ha! And sweating! Yes, that's Leah Koch, VP James and me. The photo was taken, I think, by a member of the news media visiting yesterday. Our local paper released this article this morning on their usually subscription-only website. The reporter is really getting a kick out of the 66 Days campaign.

I was present when Will said that - to clarify, he said eventually Thanksgiving will be the center of the park, meaning there's lots more land available for expansion. No hints here, just wanted to set the record straight.
