According to Katy Enrique (as reported by Iron Wolf 90-11 over at SFGAm World), the Pictorium is closed due to low attendance and will reopen for Fright Fest. I know the Pictorium has popped up here and there each year as a possibility of being the next ride to close for a new attraction. The equipment inside is not good, though it could be upgraded without putting a dent in the park's wallet, but I think the majority of people just don't find it that interesting anymore. The outside and inside are dated and while I enjoyed Screams and Dreams (as most of us here did), I don't know what else they could put in it to bring in more guests. I think the best thing for the park to do is remove it and add a family attraction of some sort. I know Hank Salemi wants a dark ride, and this could very well be a good spot. Pardon my horrid PhotoShop skills, but as you can see, it's a decent sized lot of land for a flat ride or dark ride of some sort in comparison to the size of Ragin' Cajun's space. Or if they work around the service path beside HH's entry path, they have even more room...

I have a couple questions regarding Tower of Terror at DHS. It's one of my favorite rides but it has been a while since I last rode it. I know there are multiple elevator shafts, so does that mean there are multiple hallway and 5th dimension rooms within the tower I'm assuming? Also, what is the little ghost girl saying in the hallway scene? She's mumbling something but it's hard to understand.

Hello Kristen, I would love to say for sure that Goliath will be open by then, but the park hasn't officially said anything as of late except "it will be opening very soon". Media day is on track for next Wednesday so I would assume the ride will open as soon as next Thursday (19th) or Friday (20th). The park will hopefully announce an official opening date sometime in the next couple days. The ride is testing every day now and human riders are already riding it. It's just about ready for the public to ride so I don't see why it wouldn't open next Thursday or Friday. Also, the season pass preview looks like a no go since their top priority is to just open the ride to everyone as soon as possible because of all the delays so I wouldn't worry about getting a pass unless you plan on visiting another Six Flags park again later this year. Just keeping checking here for more updates.

That's good to hear. I looked at the Goliath merchandise in Carousel Plaza Gifts last week and none of the T-shirts looked that great. I saw one shirt that was decent, but the image was the old rendering of Goliath's drop with the wooden supports instead of the steel. Hopefully there's some better ones in Thrillseekers since the merchandise is just exclusive to Goliath. Do we know where the on-ride camera is going to be yet? My guess is either at the bottom of the first drop or the exit of the Zero-G stall since it enters a tunnel. I can see them placing it right under the roof of the tunnel. Another good place is the bottom of the dive loop.

^That's a good one. I believe the intro to that is what they used for the intro video for the ToT. They just put Serling on a different background.

Not sure if there are any other Twilight Zone fans out there, but what are some of your favorite episodes? For me it would be The Night of the Meek. It's a much lighter feel than most episodes.

Goku1910 from SFGAm World said he contacted SFGAm's guest relations and they confirmed that there won't be a Goliath season pass holder preview, only the midnight ERT for people who buy the Goliath shirts and sweaters from the park. I really hope that isn't true because I passed up on buying two Goliath t-shirts 2 days ago when I went because I was expecting there to be a pass holder preview. Their PR team confirmed multiple times throughout the off season that they would have one. I know plans can change last minute but still, I would be pretty mad if they didn't have one.

Funny thing about the world, it doesn't revolve around your plans. It'll be ready when it's ready and if they can't make May 29th, they can't. There's no blame game to do if that happens. Crap happens, yet somehow life goes on. Besides, it's not like there isn't a ton of other stuff to do at Great America and the surrounding area. I think what Goooose means is that they need some days ahead of time to know if media day is being delayed. It wouldn't make media outlets happy if they show up on Thursday and Six Flags isn't prepared to open the ride. There's media coming from NYC, LA, and I believe a Dallas or Houston paper as well that'll be attending media day. It's a bit easier on media coming from Chicago since it's not far, but it wouldn't be fair to those traveling hundreds or even thousands of miles for media day and then the park isn't even ready to open the attraction. The media isn't attending media day only to ride other rides at the park (except for us enthusiasts) or visit other attractions in the area. They're going so they can report about the one thing they came for, and that one thing is Goliath. If bad weather strikes on a media day, then it's not the park's fault since the park obviously can't control the weather.
