  1. Your post is not logical. You ask why they hired William Cobb and infer he couldn't make an exciting coaster. Then you say the coaster was great at one time. If the coaster was great at one time (which it was) than William Cobb is capable of building an exciting coaster. I suppose in that case a reiteration is in order. The point I was trying to convey is that William Cobb, even at that point in time, didn't have the best of track records. Yes, he did in fact create some good coasters, but he also created some coasters that were less exciting. I guess from a business standpoint that seems like a poor decision. I would hire someone with a better track (pun not intended). It's all about the ratio of good coasters to bad coasters, and it seems that he had created more bad coasters than good ones...
  2. Yeah, I do like a few select coasters of his, but the rest ave these large very rounded hills that eliminate all forms of airtime.
  3. Okay, so my biggest question in terms of the original cyclone, Why did they hire William fricking Cobb to make them a coaster. They honestly should have gone for someone who knew how to make an exciting coaster. Of course this was one exception, I mean this was a great coaster in it's hay day, but who decided that they were going to hire the creator of the least exciting coasters in existence.
  4. I couldn't agree more. the current management team has the job of cleaning up the mess that the previous management team made.
  5. Yup, they had OTSRS on the original trains for many of their rides including Poltergeist and Jokers Jinx. By the way, does anyone else think that maybe the new trains on Bizarro will look closer to Skyrush without the wing seats? I don't know but the new ones seem to be lighter, faster, and with fixed restraints maybe more comfortable. If that fails, they will probably be closer to I305 with lap bars. That is if they don't make a whole new design. Maybe Bizarro will be the first coaster to try a new prototype train?
  6. No, your not the only one. I love the parks New England charm and all the rides that are housed there. My first time visiting the park, I actually had a really good in terms of the staff. They were helpful, friendly, and humorous. I guess the other days I have gone were just bad days.
  7. I don't know, the actual park isn't bad but the operations are what kill it for me. It's always clean, the rides are well kept, but the employees, man.
  8. First of all, no... that wasn't announced. We're just speculating. Nothing concrete was announced. I do believe that they'll eventually paint it red, remove the speakers and re-name it because it's marketable and they can sell more merchandise that way. Just painting the ride isn't marketable and it costs the park money so this is a clever way to make a profit but I doubt the ride experience will change much. I won't fault them for that but I'm not all that interested. I'm not reading too far into the line about "new technology" because that could mean anything. Maybe it will be cool but until something is announced I'm not getting excited about it. And second of all... Yes. I am hung up on the "measly" sky ride. I'm hung up on the sky ride because it's just another ride in the endless list of rides that this park has removed and not replaced with anything because this park has no concept of the fact that a park needs more than just roller coasters to be enjoyable. This park was better 10 years ago in 2005 than it was in 2014 and for that to ever be the case at any park is truly amazing. I can't think of any other park anywhere where you could honestly say that but in this case it's the truth. Here's a list of non coaster rides closed since 2005... Log Flume (good ride replaced by an ugly, awful piece of crap) Colossus (iconic ride that was not replaced at all, a ride was relocated here that already existed in the park and an up-charge carnival ride was added) Chaos (not replaced) Spider (not replaced) Rodeo (not replaced, highly visible eyesore pad and queue is still there 8 years later) Bumper Buggies (not replaced) Double Trouble (not replaced) Time Warp (not replaced, pad is still there 6 years later) Nightwing (replaced with a ride that we already had only now it's outside so it's far less interesting) Shipwreck Falls (actually replaced but with the current State of Goliath and it's new train I'd almost rather have Shipwreck Falls back) Catapult (not replaced) Taz's Daredevil Dive (actually replaced) Twister (not replaced, and despite the rumors I'll believe it when I see it) New England Skyway (we all know this will never be replaced) In that time the following adult non coaster rides have been added Splashwater Falls (replaced the log flume... the log flume was a much better ride) Slingshot (an up-charge Carnival ride) New England Skyscreamer Yup... that's it. So yes, I'm annoyed about the Sky Ride. I'm really annoyed, because this park just continues to do this stuff year after year. You know what, you are right. This may seem like a small thing to me, but it's part of a much larger and way more serious problem that needs to be fixed. Also, your right about Bizarro. Six Flags is really thrifty when it comes to replacing rides. By the way, I'm sorry if I offended anyone in any way by that last comment of mine. That could have been taken the wrong way, and that was my fault.
  9. That wasn't even a transportation ride. It only had one station. Edit: Also it was removed until the end of the 1996 season. Six Flags wasn't in the picture until 1998. So it wasn't Six Flags that removed it, but rather Premier who ran the park during that time. Actually it was bought by the company 1996 and then was six flags branded in 2000. Seriously, what happened to rumors surrounding Bizarro!?!?!?
  10. You guys are hung up on a measly sky ride when they announced that new technology would be implemented into Bizarro and changed back to SROS. Maybe they will replace the chain lift with a cable lift, or get rid of those God-for-saken trains. Maybe they will add a LSM lift like Maverick.
  11. I am so excited to know that only an hour away from my living quarters are soon to be two coasters within the top 10 ranking. Also, is it just me, or is there something about the coaster that is just beautiful, even more so than Twisted Colossus.
  12. I must say, that is my pet peeve too. I hate it when people focus on things that don't matter such as story lines and the color scheme of the ride, when in reality, the only thing that matters is how enjoyable the ride itself was.
  13. I understand that running a popular website is very difficult and time consuming, and I really respect you guys for that. What would you say is the single most difficult thing about running a website like this is?
  14. By the way, I have done some thinking recently, and I have come to the conclusion that they shouldn't scrap Flashback. I looked at the Cobra at Powerpark and I must say, it looks like a very good coaster. If they added magnetic breaks, an electric lift(similar to that of Boomerang at Six Flags St. Louis, MK 1212 trains, and a new paint job it would be a decent ride. However, the one problem I ran into was the cost of the trains. I'm not sure how expensive they are and if it would be worth it to the park to spend that kind of money refurbishing an old coaster. Any thoughts? Also, if they replace Flashback, what do you think will go in its place: a Superman Ultimate Flight clone, or a Yamaha Racing Coaster clone?
  15. Just a quick coaster geek question, how does the steering system on the RMC, Gravity Group, and GCI trains work? I know very roughly how it works, but could someone explain it in a little more detail?
  16. Yeah, it felt like bb's were hitting me, but none the less, it was the best coaster experience of my entire life.
  17. Actually, for some reason, they let me ride Bizarro during torrential rain. Oh, and when I mean torrential it was completely bucketing.
  18. On a more positive note, imagine how good it will look on a slightly stormy day in the color grey. That in my opinion would look epic. I smell epicness...
  19. By the way, what is the figure on the front meant to look like?
  20. Scratch that last comment, that would look wrong on many levels. I think they will remove it.
  21. It's apparent that they are keeping the center steel tower. If they were going to tear it down it would have been taken care of by now. In my opinion, it will give an otherwise new coaster an older feel so it still has a little cyclone left in it.
  22. So why did Zamperla mess up to the extent they did? They managed to make a brand new coaster only to be described as getting into a car crash. It takes some skill to make a coaster that bad.
  23. Okay, can anyone describe to me just how bad Thunderbolt is. Does it rival Vekoma in terms of comfort or is there no competition?
  24. Wait a second, there is a trip that could pass by my home park next year?!?! Why didn't I know this! This means a Bizarro Bash! Wait, what would it be called when you ride Wicked Cyclone multiple times in a row on a trip with Tpr?
