Well it wasn't opened much during that time anyways.. Technical Ride Rehearsal started the last week of May (I can't remember the exact date but a Google search shows news articles about it as early as May 26) and the recall was June 17th (another Google search haha) So the actual up time was very limited until after the recall anyways I just remember being frustrated waiting in lines for 30+ minutes only being told to leave and it happened several times until closing on the first full weekend it was in ride rehearsal.. I finally got lucky at closing Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Well before the recall it was mostly in technical ride rehearsal. The recall was shortly after it officially opened for real.. So most of the downtime before the recall could always be attributed to the ride being finished late, fine tuning, and all that good jazz. I rode it the first weekend it was in technical ride rehearsal and actually got lucky and got a night ride! It had opened and closed several times when I had been in line.. finally I caught it open again right around closing and it had no line.. it was already fairly dark. It was an awesome ride! That was the only time I got to ride it before the recall I believe.. after that most of my rides were in the Fall after it opened back up Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

I'll believe that.. you can tell Dollywood tries everything they can to get it running.. we have seen them list it as TC all day long only to get it running an hour before closing.. being listed as CD makes me believe they are waiting on parts Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Last season, it worked fine during the heat do I don't think that's it.. remember, last season the ride didn't even open until early June.. Maybe late May.. it ran fine when it was running until the "recall" that took it down for a while.. but then ran fine again and we had a fairly warm fall.. about the same temp this spring was.. Wild Eagle normally has some of the best operations in the park. I wonder what was up! Also, for those who might not check, DW started listing LR as closed shortly after 8 this morning.. so no go today either Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Everyone just assumes it's a launch issue due to the rollbacks but if you listen to the videos of Pete or pay attention to DW management when they talk about issues the main things that comes up are trains (Pete said they planned to have RMC rewire the trains during the off season).. and electrical issues such as sensors (again this makes since, if they have to rewire the trains) Even the true rollbacks, I don't think are caused by the system just not having enough power.. but I have never actually seen any of the "true" rollbacks.. I saw several of the failure to launch issues though Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

All LR injuries are due to folks being stupid and not securing their phones.. so yeah I agree let's burn it like SOB because people keep getting hurt.. lol JK LR and SOB are two different issues.. SOB had some serious injuries that started it's downfall.. LR just does that work Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Well timber tower was torn down due to the lawsuit I'd assume.. it was actually running fine later in it's life but stopped running due to a contract dispute and was then torn down Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

I think being torn down is overkill haha, I'm sure eventually they will have it running.. it might require extensive work though with a new lift concept or something but being torn down I don't think will happen.. unless they go into a lawsuit similar to timber tower Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Nice app.. my last trip, the 18th shows LR as opening with the park (if it actually opened with successful rides lol) and closing shortly after opening and shows it open for two short periods of under 45 mins each around lunch.. I never saw it open that day but one of the regulars here got lucky and got a ride.. it's nice seeing the timrs it was actually open.. the longest period (a 45 min period) was when I was at Aunt Grannies eating which is why I never saw it! All you can eat buffet with desert takes about 45 mins lol Nice app! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Luckily I am close to Dollywood so I would never have this issue but I have to plan my vacation 2 - 3 months out for wotk.. yeah anything can happen in that time but even for enthusiast, a lot of folks probably have to do the same.. if that's the case, I see no issues with them coming on here and complaining. Depending on where you book your lodging and when you book it (most I assume do it when they finalize their vacation plans at work) it's not as simple as just canceling your trip when you get two or three weeks out and it's not running.. you might be out deposits or even the entire amount for lodging.. Tickets can be used anytime during the season but are non refundable.. yes, Dollywood might refund them if you complain enough but that's not a guarantee It's like last year, a lot of people rescheduled their vacation for late summer like posters on here suggested they do.. LR still wasn't open or running consistently then eithrt.. So when should an enthusiast schedule their trip in hopes of riding LR? Never? At least not for this season? No guarantee it will be running next year we'll eithrt I think it's easy for us that have ridden it to shrug it off and say DW is still a great park, have fun and eat cinnamon bread.. but it's truly not that simple, and I know it.. A lot of people I know are trying to travel and use their 1 or 2 weeks they get off from their job to ride LR.. I completely understand when they come here and bitch because it was closed.. it really can ruin an entire vacation if that was the reason for the vacation.. even if Dollywood is such a good park. There might of been somewhere else they would rather be if they knew LR was closed Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Exactly, I wouldn't plan any trips just for LR personally.. Planning trips to visit DW because it is a great park is fine but not just for LR Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Short answer is yes.. I have been multiple times his year and only seen it working once.. I go now assuming it will be closed Although it's a great park without LR, a lot of folks on here don't seem to understand people who are upset after traveling and it's closed haha. I know lots of folks travel for LR Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

But was it a full rollback or failure to launch? See my description above lol Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

True rollback or just a failure to launch? I have honestly only seen one instance of a true rollback.. most of the time it seems the train just stops on the lift.. A video from last year had a much better look at what was happening.. You could clearly see the launch engage on the flat portion but as soon as the train hit the lift, a fin popped up and stopped it meaning the train only went a few feet up the lift and rolled back.. I wouldn't consider that a true rollback.. like a safety feature was stopping it from launching I see a rollback as making it up the lift a good ways and not having power to crest the top. I have only heard of that happening once or twice with LR Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

It actually changed to CD much earlier than 6. I made a post about it here around 3:30 or 4ish I believe, maybe earlier Like you, it was closed when I got there but must of opened up sometime when I was at Aunt Grannies eating.. When I left the park around 1:30 it was still listed as TC on the app but someone had posted here they saw it at a 45 mins wait shortly before.. that might of been the only time it was opened all day. What time were you able to ride it? Just curious haha Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

That's essentially what they did several times last year but it didn't help much. It not helping makes me feel like there are several areas on the coaster having issues Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

A lot of folks today weren't very happy with a few leaving the park early because of it.. I had the Joy of hearing them complain on my early tram ride out haha (I personally didn't leave the park because of it, my GF got called into work so we had to cut our trip short.. but we are locals) With that being said, the stamp lady on the way out did send one unhappy family to Guest Services where I assume they probably got a free ticket if Dollywood is still doing that this year Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Honestly, the ride operated very well during the fall last season.. Almost no issues or closures at all but currently, it isn't operating nearly as well as it did last fall.. Maybe it did the first few weeks of the season but recently, downtime seems to be 50% or higher, with one week of almost 100% downtime last month I go to the park a lot, although normally short visits.. I actually only recall LR being open during only one of my visits.. I know it had been opened on some of the days I visited, but was never open when I was actually there. The cost was between $25 - $30 million and has probably topped that now due to all the issues haha Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Looks like LR has been shut down for the day.. it's now listed as CD.. like I said, I never saw it running at all during my short trip today but a poster here said at one time the app showed a 45 min wait for it so it possibly opened for a very short time. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Yup.. now some folks on here say that it stops right before the top, makes a full rotation, and then goes up a little more to drop.. like I said, when I watched it this morning (it was actually closed until shortly before noon) it never made the stop for the full rotation it just stopped spinning and continued to climb then drops.. that's how my ride cycle was as well.. So not sure if they were trying to keep the line down by putting it in a fast mode or if it was having some sort of problem which could explain why it wasn't opened for the first 30 - 45 mins when I was there (I arrived shortly before 11 so not sure if it was opened before then or not and went down) Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -

Yes, Daredevil Falls finally opened.. as for LR, I either missed when the app said it was opened or it never opened.. We had to leave early as my GF was called into work but I never saw it open when I was there haha.. They also seemed to have Drop Line on a fast mode or something.. It never actually stopped at the top today like folks have been mentioning.. it went up, stopped spinning towards the top but never stopped moving up.. as soon as it got to the top it dropped, no stopping haha. Good short day though! Fairly busy, looks like summer crowds are starting.. lots of families Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk -
