  1. The punch cards are very new.. last Thursday they still had wristbands although the bands then looked like a softer plastic than the original hard plastic black ones.. last Thursday they were a translucent blue Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  2. The front seat om Tornado used to scare me to death because it does fill like it is going to rollback or stop on the loop Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  3. That sounds about right! I'd imagine the pond area would be done by this weekend so that gives them another week to finalize the other small stuff I saw them working on last week. With that being said, if Dollywood does try a soft opening, I'd imagine they could next week if the pond is finished. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  4. Also, not giving a hard date makes sure the same thing that happened to LR doesn't happen again.. Last year the mugs said LR would be open in March and we all know that didn't happen Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  5. I guess it's mainly because this is so "new" to Dollywood.. Six Flags is big on unannounced soft openings.. I have gotten lucky and caught several of them.. With Dollywood normally having rides open BEFORE the park opens, they never really deal with soft openings.. I wonder how much of this was planned and if this is going to be the new trend for Dollywood? Most parks wait and open their rides around May and use the new ride being built as advertising and say "upgrade to a season pass today and return to enjoy the NEW RIDE ride this summer".. I wonder if Dollywood is going to start doing the same? I know it has been said that these new rides were a late decision but is that really true? Only management knows lol Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  6. It looked like the ride was done and I know it has been testing but the area itself isn't there just yet.. The pond was the biggest area that still needed worked. I'd imagine, when it's done, in theory, the ride could probably open.. I doubt it will open before the pond is finished though.. The opening date for the ride has been said to be "early to mid May" from several interviews I have seen with Pete As for an exact date, none have been said to my knowledge Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  7. Last week when I was there (Thursday) it looked like Drop Line is mostly done but they are still working on themeing, more exactly they were working on the "pond" on Thursday.. They had guys working on the pumps and stuff when I was there.. the Pond had not been filled yet. They were also working a few smaller things it looks like for Drop Line So at this point, they aren't 100% done with it but we might get lucky with a soft opening early May! Who knows! 8. I love cyclone and how rough it is haha, maybe I'm just weird Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  9. Glad to see it's open! Hopefully it stays that way this weekend I might come back.. I did make it yesterday because I wanted to see Enra, which I greatly enjoyed but I'm a very technical person and love Japanese culture so it was interesting to me Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  10. I made it to Dollywood today.. crowds very light, finally got to try Front Porch Cafe.. Service was kind of slow, but the food was amazing! Probably, hands down, best food in the park.. It's a very nice restaurant clean and contemporary but with Dollywood charm.. Service could be quicker though, but overall well worth it! As far as I can tell, I see nothing happening to LR.. no work or anything Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  11. Actually, they where closed Sunday I believe for Easter but maybe they started the maintenance then Technically they said "quick maintenance" according to the post which I also take as scheduled but that might not be the case.. also she/he also said it would be back up by Wednesday and that wasn't the case either lol.. weekends are always the most crowded at Dollywood so maybe you will get lucky and they will have it open It's hard to believe any of the employees but I'd imagine they are just as in the dark as we are Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  12. Man, I was planning a trip there today but will probably still head that way! At least they are posting early that it's closed Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  13. Haha well on a side note I was on the mobile site when I clicked purchase.. that might be the difference lol Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  14. Just click the "purchase" hotlink and this page shows up Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  15. I saw the small fire on local news.. didn't hear anything about evacuating the entire park though, they just mentioned the "small area" was evacuated.. Again, I don't know for sure how much was evacuated though.. Edit: Doesn't look like it's opened yet but the park just opened 10 mins ago.. no CD for it though so possibly a good sign Edit 2: Just updated to "CD".. This is why customer service agents shouldn't use words like "quick maintenance" and it will be open "tomorrow".. if I was traveling I'd rather them be honest and say that they are trying to have it open as soon as possible but there isn't any news on when it will be open. At least then a guest can't say "you all told me it would be open" Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  16. We know absolutely nothing about what they're working on or the intricacies of how the ride works so your opinion is meaningless, but okay. Agreed. Who knows, maybe they figured out a way to keep it open consistently by doing maintenance for two-day periods every couple months? You can criticize their operations of this coaster, but it seems to be doing infinitely better than last year. I just hope this new system works for them in the long run. Mystery Mine has been down this season more than Lightning Rod. And I know you're saying it's peak spring break week, but over the past few days, the longest any queue has gotten was 5-10 mins. The parks seems to be empty. According to the app, Blazing Fury has the longest line in the park right now, lol. The past two days seem like the perfect time to knock out some quick maintenance. Maybe I just can't take your pessimism right now when I'm 4 days away from possibly getting on the damned thing. [emoji38] The park has been empty everyday this season during the week it seems.. Nothing like last year, but it's also been raining today.. and yesterday was nasty in the morning We get a lot of visitors at work from people travelling.. so far we have had 14 this week that traveled to the mountains for the weekend.. 1 person visited Dollywood while all of them went to the Aquarium.. why these folks aren't visiting Dollywood, who knows lol.. I want Dollywood to be doing well Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  17. Quick maintenance is Dollywood bring cryptic like always.. to me, quick maintenance, sounds planned.. It probably isn't that simple nor was it planned with the ride being down for two days already. Not that quick either, two days so far. But yeah whatever, plan to close your most popular ride on probably the week that has the potential to be your busiest of the season with Spring Break.. makes perfect financial and business since to me. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  18. Point is though, this is a brand new coaster.. no maintenance should close it down for two days even if it is just "quick maintenance".. the park is closed most Tuesdays this time of year (except for today because of Spring Break) so quick maintenance should be reserved for those days.. Just my opinion on it lol Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  19. Not looking good! I guess something major broke again Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  20. I doubt it.. it's Spring Break for the local schools in Sevier County I believe.. That's why they are open everyday this week. Normally they would be closed tomorrow. I mean Dollywood would want it fixed ASAP but I don't think they closed early in the week purposely to make sure it's open this weekend.. they are planned to have a fairly busy week all week I'm sure it'll be back running by the weekend, let's hope Essentially, this is a very bad week for any downtime on LR in my opinion.. Locals might be like "well LR is down, let's do something else instead" during a week when a lot of locals will be off. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  21. CD isn't a good sign! This is how it starts with the ride being down for weeks/months.. as we have learned, Dollywood doesn't give up trying to get the ride working even if they just open it 30 minutes before closing.. CD might be a sign something broke that needs a part Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  22. As for wait times it all depends but in the heart of summer they can be pretty bad depending on weather.. on the slow days LR, Fire Chaser, and Mystery Mine can have waits of 30 - 45 minutes.. on the semi busy days LR can be as much as an hour and a half. I recommend not falling for any buy a fast pass online promos (if they have any) and just buy at the park.. if you are spending two days there you may not need one at all unless you just hate lines One tip is even on busy days the lines die down about an hour before close. Sometimes the exception to this can be if a lot of folks are trying to get night rides on the coasters but in the middle of summer it doesn't get dark here until 9:30ish anyways so the night rides aren't pitch black meaning it shouldn't cause much of an issue As a tip, Dollywood doesn't hide wait times in their app like some parks do (meaning you don't have to be in the park to see wait times).. Download the app and keep an eye on wait times, it's fairly accurate.. it might be a good way to plan especially if you check it various times of the day to see the trends Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  23. Late summer early fall.. I feel I saw it closed more during the early fall for the bees Luckily they said the top on LR works so Pete said in a video that they are considering putting something similar on wild eagle.. not sure how I feel about that.. but it might keep it from closing Also, the rides close during the heat of the day for the bees.. so ride in the morning and evening.. mid days when they are closed Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  24. Anyone remember off the top of their head how long Enra is going to be there? I forgot their dates.. that's one show I do wanna make a special trip to see Edit: April 22 is the last day for Enra Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  25. Some of the performers have their CDs available but none of the other vendors are back.. Shows are decent like always but food isn't what it was last year for the festival.. Overall, festival is neat and fun but not a "driver".. I would be very upset if I visited for the festival only.. that's just me though Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
