  1. For me it is mostly self-imposed changed. I normally work from home 2-3 days a week and last week did WFH all week and this week will be the same (mainly because somebody in our office building but different company came down with it) and I'm trying to avoid going to restaurants and bars. So mostly jus trying not to go out if I don't have to. Grocy store has been insane.
  2. Disney is extending season pass expirations.
  3. Seaworld closing now too https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1238529008456871940
  4. These are nice bit of these are going into Gotham what is happening with splaswater falls? For white water I’m guessing that ride will go where rapids used to be.
  5. So Herschend is the possible buyer? I'd be all for that then. SFOG is my home park and I'd love for them to be running it.
  6. Went yesturday mainly to make sure I got my 2019 pass processed before end of the month and did run through the haunts will I was there. CaSa De Muerta - about same as last year. Entertrining and enjoyable. Alien Abuducton - really nice additional. Lots of cool elements and costumes. One of my favorites Camp Slasher - very very much improved last year and a lot of cool rooms and stuff build in. May have been my favorite haunt. The school bus out front was weird. ZX-1 - My favorite the last few years but dissapointed this year. The whole "story" of the haunt was removed. No TV screens outside telling you about what is going on in dodge city (even though they did get repetive), no people inside helping you get to the cure at the hospital. Most just a generic town with zombies. If I wasn't comparing it to previous years probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. Evil passage - in the old dracula building. Short but what they had was good. I'd rather see then add a short additional haunt like this then leave the building empty. Witche's Coven - basically same a last year. Good eye candy. Not real scary. Now last year I did this 3 time and one time they had a really really cool scene in the final room that made the whole thing amazing. On this trip through nothing special in the final room. After one trip though I think I'd rank them. Slasher Alien Casa ZX-1 Witches Evil passage Did not get a chance this trip for dead man's party or bad bob the bone butcher or the train. I expect all 3 to be similar to last year but I would all 3 very entertaining last year so that wouldn't be a bad thing. I also want to comment on the building near goliath. There was talk that it may become a storage building or something about FF but I'm not so sure. The railing for the queue line going in and the exit into goliath gift shop looked definitely more permanetly installed and were not using those temporary movable railings and I don't see them putting in pemanent railings just for FF (even casa de meurte which is used every year for FF uses the temporary railings). So I'm thinking there will be some kind of attaction there come next year though that would be FF19 would lose two haunt locations from this year.
  7. Yes - I failed to mention the "Ghosts of Six Flags" - I did not experience it yet this year but I have a hunch it is the same as 2017. It is a free experience featuring a narrative of ghost stories in and around the park! Considering the regular season narrative on the train was the same as last year, this one probably will be as well. At least they are doing that. I did like the old terror train but it has major capacity issues which is likely why they changed it. Ghosts of six flags was interesting last year.
  8. Are they doing anything with the train this year?
  9. It is worth going. Great coaster lineup. No afternoon discounts.
  10. I went to opening day at white water. Hit a lot of rides in when I got thee at opening but due to heat got real crowded in afternoon. Left around 3. A few links like the bucket water drop were not running which always confuses me. You know when opening day is. Why should everything not be working? First time I saw the dive in movie list for the year and outside I’d emoji movie is a good list. Wonder Woman justice league coco cars 3 pirates of carribean. Star Wars. Definitely will make more of those this year.
  11. I was trying to compare and just re-ran the numbers. My gold combo pass for this year during the flash sale was $52.99 and $82.99 for dining. I actually went and looked at the passes and if I'm only buying 1, membership lowest level is $7.25 which would come to $87 or almost $30 more then my season pass. Not enough value to me for $30 more. Offer it without having to buy 4 at the $5.99 price point and I might do it. Dining plan seems to be about even. I was $82.99 for deluxe dining plan (with a free upgrade to premium). Deluxe on membership is $6.99/month or $83.88. So that one works out money-wise. So considered doing a switch to membership but after running numbers I'll stay with my season pass as long as I can keep getting the good flash sale rates. If they remove that this year (which is likely) I'll reconsider a membership at that point.
  12. I agree the park appears to be spending their limited resources wisely. Refurbishing Ninja into Blue Hawk was genius. Other than the old Thomas Town area, the only other area (in dire need) is repainting the Scorcher. I am actually quite surprised that was not done this off-season, given all the love the rest of the front of the park is getting, including the Twisted Cyclone and coastal theming. Although Scorcher is a good coaster, its also an eye sore. On a side note, I have long noted in my surveys that the park really needs to widen the sidewalk to the parking lot. it is only 4' wide and when hundreds of guests are all exiting (or entering) the park at once, there is simply not enough room, forcing some to walk along the road and in some cases right into the path of cars or trams. (I have seen it happen!) My guess is a new major ride will take the space formerly occupied by Thomas Town, but not until 2020. Next year, Hurricane Harbor gets an addition of some sort....unless the park is able to do both in one year, but that is not likely. But - that is merely my prediction. I did last years gold combo pass for 64 which would be 5.40 a month. Lowest membership is 6/month costing me more. Haven’t run dining plan numbers yet.
  13. I noticed the same thing at SfoG. I much prefer paying once during the flash sales at the end of the season and be set for next year when to me psycoloically all my visits are now "free" and totaly paid for (do dining plan to so most visits I pay zero). If I don't go a month I don't worry since not going doesn't cost my anything. If I was paying mothly I think I'd feel I need to go each month since I paid that month for the service. Kinda like I am with moviepass ($10/month unlimited movies) where I feel I need to make at least one movie a month to pay for the card. If memberships are all that were offered I would have to think a lot harder about doing it but I wouldn't have to worry about it for a year. Like I said, I normally hit their Aug/Sep sales times (and yes get some overlap on passes) but if I'm going to be forced to membership I wouldn't start it until next March. I hope they don't remove the pay one model. If you do it in Aug/Sep you can normally get some great deals.
  14. I hope they dont. Guess we’ll find out toward the end of the season when they start marketing 2019 passes. I guess that is one reason that they like memberships. No need to sell again to people every year.
  15. Do you just prefer paying all at once? Seems that is the only difference other than what they call it. The new perk of getting to skip one line each time was a nice addition. I prefer pay up front, and not have it auto-renew, with a pain in the A$$ cancellation process (assuming you remember to cancel it). they seem to be taking away Passholder perks and moving them over to Memberships. I budget for a Season Pass if I'm going to get one, so yeah, rather pay up front, it's good for the season, and if I want to buy one the next year, i will. Same here. I pay once normally during something like the Labor Day sale get a good price and am done for the year. The thought of paying monthly and now having to pay regular price is not appealing.
  16. Sfog doesn't have the land to compete with white water. In fact I'd love to see ww pick up some of the land that used to be the dry park beside it and expand there but have no idea the current legal status of that land.
  17. Very possible. I've noticed they have to use the manual locking wrench thing more and more on seats.
  18. I'm pretty sure around where skyscreamer is is where they can build the highest.
  19. I doubt it will happen but I'd love to hear sfog was getting the first rmc t-Rex. Now that would get attention.
