  1. Anybody else find it strange that there are no visible markers in the supposed area for the new ride? Shouldn't they be in the ground by now?
  2. That's surprising to me. The building itself was completely redone (filled in trough, air conditioning moved to roof, new walls, etc.), the ride vehicles are top of the line, the two animatronics are crazily realistic, the sets, screens, and lighting are well done, the queue is nice, the facade is awesome, and (even though the cost was split) the animation had to have been expensive. I can't believe the ride was less than $10 million with all of those factors added up, but I'll take your word for it.
  3. As much as everybody wants a new steel hyper, I'm hoping for an RMC similar to Goliath, but hopefully a bit longer. If RMC Boss ain't happening, I'd like SOMETHING from them, and a brand-new woodie would be awesome.
  4. ^Prozach, I totally respect your choice to not visit the park until they add something that interests you, and I agree that the chances of a large steel coaster coming our way soon are very low. However (and this isn't just directed at you), just because a new dark ride doesn't interest you doesn't mean our park is "neglected". Justice League had to have cost around $10-15 million, which is no small amount. It's obvious SFSTL is trying to transform into a family park, and not a giant thrill park, like SFMM. Would I love a giant new hyper RMC? Of course, but that doesn't seem to be the direction the park is headed. (Oh, and while it really doesn't compare to rides like Spider-Man at IoA (IMHO), JLBFM is BY FAR the best dark ride in the Midwest, so at least SFSTL has that going for them.)
  5. Wrecker's Salvage is the train ride, I believe.
  6. I think the park would back off that idea since its a little bit maybe too similiar to SkyScreamer like you said I doubt the tower would be nearly as tall (probably less than 100 feet), and the sensation of the rotating "planes" would be totally different than the sensation of the swings on SkyScreamer. They're totally different experiences.
  7. I don't always trust Screamscape, but he mentioned in a new article that Six Flags has been looking at new flat rides to put in next season in place of planned Larson Giant Loops since the ones across the chain have been having mechanical errors. A Zamperla air race mounted on a tower (like SkyScreamer) looks to be a main contender, and I would not complain one bit about them adding one to SFSTL.
  8. I mean, that's what happens when you debut a first of its kind attraction. I'm still glad we got the ride though, as (when it's working) it is awesome and lots of fun. The same thing happened when SFSTL installed Mr. Freeze, except that that was delayed an entire season. I'm glad they're taking the time to fix the ride now instead of waiting until next season.
  9. Eh. He's right most of the time. It's hard to be positive about new additions when the park hasn't recieved a major steel coaster since 1998. Granted, JLBFM and American Thunder were great additions, but yeah, the park doesn't seem to be getting any special steel coasters anytime soon. A 4D freespin is a possibility, but very unlikely.
  10. Camp Killamore should be a spectacular addition to Fright Fest this year. I'm glad they found some more creatures/spirits/psychos that seem to be harboring dark feelings. Looking at Fright Fest 2012 and comparing it to 2013, it was an incredible improvement. Then 2013 to 2014 was another noticeable improvement. 2014 to 2015...you guessed it, bigger, better, scarier. It'll be a fantastic time! I've started writing a response to your post about a dozen times. I just can't find the proper way to respond without jumping into a five paragraph essay. I wish you worked with the park's management team so that you could see all of the details and work going on. The park's management is devastated (that isn't a dramatic overstatement), and they have been working insanely hard on a lot of things this season. You would be surprised to see the causes of the issues, and statements like the above are a bit of a slap in the face to a lot of people. I didn't mean to say anything offensive in my post... I know there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes. You yourself (I believe) said that Oceaneering is working overnights to make tweaks to the attraction. All I said was that I hope Six Flags doesn't clone the ride until it's fully able to operate at both parks it's currently at. I don't see how that's a "slap in the face" to the park? I never said that the ride wasn't awesome, I'm just saying that it certainly has had issues. Are you saying that by saying that I am being rude to the park's management?
  11. I voted no simply because I personally would probably never use it. I just think Reddit itself is confusing, cluttered, and kind of just ugly looking. I think the current TPR looks a lot cleaner and is a lot easier to use. Then again, there is the chance that it could take off and be successful, but it seems to me like you're already busy enough with the current social media accounts and forum that it might not be worth the effort.
  12. Where is it? Every sign I've seen is for past houses/scare zones. Edit: Nevermind I saw it the second I posted this.
  13. At the park today. Moderate crowds, surprising for a Thursday, even in July. JLBFM has a sign out front that makes it sound like the ride is going to be down until they find a way to fix all of the issues. I really doubt Six Flags is going to clone these rides anymore until the problems with the current two are solved. I hope they don't, because once more are added Oceaneering and Sally aren't going to have time to keep adjusting ours. The Boss was actually awesome today. The back row actually had a few pops of airtime.
  14. The Six Flags Fright Fest websites have been updated... ...and it looks like nothing new for SFSTL once again. It's kind of disappointing, considering last year all we got was a new name for a maze. HWFan, do you know if they will be announcing anything more?
  15. Yeah.... no. As somebody who has greyed out on the majority of my rides on MF, "Millennium Forceless" is one of the dumbest nicknames for a coaster that I have ever heard of. In no way is MF "forceless", at all. Wikipedia claims that it pulls 4.5 Gs, which I would guess is a low estimate. The Batman clones supposedly pull 4.9 and Boomerangs supposedly pull 5.2 (that sounds like BS to me, though), I never grey out on those. I would assume MF actually pulls up to 5 Gs at the very least. Yeah, very good point. ... But what about the airtime? MF has strong floater airtime on every single hill (not the over banks, of course). No, it's nothing major, but it's there.
  16. Screamscape is 6 months late with news once again. His whole article was dumb. He went on a little rant about how Intamin's involvement means that this ride is now automatically unsafe. You'd think a guy as smart about the industry as him would realize that ride accidents are extremely rare and that Intamin rides are no more likely to have incidents than any other manufacturer.
  17. Yeah.... no. As somebody who has greyed out on the majority of my rides on MF, "Millennium Forceless" is one of the dumbest nicknames for a coaster that I have ever heard of. 18. Nope. The land that the Forest Park Community College sits on is where the park used to be located.
  19. I have to admit, when TR's closing was announced, I jumped on the "#SaveThunderRoad" bandwagon. I never rode it, but I have ridden Racer at KI, which I really loved for some reason, and I was worried that if TR left, then Rebel Yell and Racer would go next. Then I realized that Thunder Road was far more neglected, and unlike Racer, was definitely in the way of lands that could be expanded on. Carowinds water park and water ride selection appears to be minuscule, so a log flume or water park expansion looks like a good choice for the park.
  20. Holiday World has no reason to feel the need to compete with KK. Will Storm Chaser be awesome? I'm sure it will. But KK does not market their new additions very well. Storm Chaser's announcement trailer was done terribly. Not only the animations, but the editing of the video was terrible. While enthusiasts may think SC looks incredible, I'm almost sure the GP would all rather ride Thunderbird. HW marketed the ride amazingly and it seems like everybody in the area's talking about it. I could be totally wrong, but I feel like the whole announcement of SC was a big blunder. No build up, crappy teaser, and no real big talk about it outside of coaster forums. And I'm sure the GP will love it once they ride it, but I just don't feel like SC is what KK needs right now. They're going to have to add something comparable to Thunderbird. Tall, fast, multiple inversions, etc. LR at KK is amazing and airtime-filled, and SC looks to be more of the same, which is awesome for enthusiasts and for the park, but it's not adding anything that the park doesn't have.
  21. Yeah, thanks a lot for your boomerang. I know you guys loved it so much and miss it dearly. Sorry though, there's no way you're getting Excalibur. With all its issues, corporate would rather scrap it than pass it on to another park (it is an awesome ride, though).
  22. What makes the first element so different than an Immelmann? They look exactly the same to me.
  23. Inside Out attractions need to be put into EPCOT's currently SBNO Wonders of Life pavilion as soon as possible.
  24. To be fair, ANYTHING can happen with it closing this early! Remember dismantling of Disaster Transport didn't begin until August 6th for GateKeeper. I'm not saying expect a GateKeeper sized coaster, but with the August 9th removal date it definitely seems like they're making way for something of significant value in 2016. If you've watched Coaster Studios, he predicted that Kings Dominion will get a 200 ft tall invert. That would be epic. Either that or a launched wingrider. Why the heck to people take Coaster Studios so seriously? He's a teenager that either states rumors going around and acts like he thought of them or just makes up dumb predictions. He has no more insight into what parks are adding than you and me. A 200 ft invert would not fit in the site at all. Maybe in the future, but not in Shockwave's location.
  25. I've been on Outlaw Run and Goliath. Goliath had a better drop (from the back row, at least) and the zero-G stall was amazing, but it does not come close to touching the awesomeness that is Outlaw Run (my favorite coaster). The terrain, the layout, the airtime, sideways airtime, barrel rolls, everything is just so awesome.
