Here is the thing: Iron Medusa at Six Flags Mexico is pretty much 100% going to happen. Iron Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain is a strong rumor at this point. Isn't Iron Boss just an idea SFSTL's fans want to happen? If the park manager says he doesn't know if the Boss is the proper length to get the Iron Horse treatment, doesn't that mean there is no possibility at this point that management is planning on creating Iron Boss? Also, if every Six Flags park ends up getting an Iron Horse coaster, would it still be a signature coaster? (That's not saying I don't definitely want Iron Boss to happen)

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Who manufactured Grizzly? I thought it was PTC, but I checked their website and it doesn't list it. -
I'm guessing Led Zeppelin would cost around $15 million dollars. Maximum RPM should be around $5-7 million (I have no clue what a ferris wheel lift hill costs so that is my guess). Eagles Fast Lane maybe $3-5 million. The rest of the rides around the park should be around $5-10 million. That is around $37 million worth in rides (my estimates were probably a little high). If the land its on is worth around $10 million, I'd say the park altogether is worth $40-50 million. The land will never be reopened as a theme park. The best thing that could happen would be to relocate the good rides before they rust away.

Texas/Midwest 2013 Tour Mini-Updates!

The City Museum is the coolest place in St. Louis! -
Visited the park today. We arrived around one and immediately used our dining passes to eat at Macho Nacho Burritos. Definitely the best food in the park. It is higher quality and healthier than Taco Bell, but it took way too long to get our food. American Thunder was, as always, short but sweet and full of airtime. Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast was fun. River King Mine Train was boring. Same old, same old. On a side note, the ENTIRE parking lot was full. Yes, even the side that I have never seen full since around three or four years ago. I guess the water park must have been near full, because the theme park wasn't very busy.

River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis -
-Nickelodeon Universe -Silver Dollar City -Six Flags St. Louis -SeaWorld Orlando -Universal's Islands of Adventure -EPCOT -Magic Kingdom -Disney's Hollywood Studios That could very well be it for this year, other than return trips to SDC and SFSTL. Orlando trips are expensive! Next year will definitely include east coast parks, and Kentucky Kingdom, Dollywood, Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Holiday World are possibilities as well.

Visited SeaWorld last Saturday and had a great time. These are some notes: 1. Quick Queue is a great upgrade. Definitely worth the $30, especially when it comes to Antarctica. 2. The food at the restaurant in the Antarctica area was delicious. Go next door and build a penguin cup, then get the South Pole Chill (I think that is what the drink is called), and you are set to go. 3. The employees are nice, but I had one encounter that kind of made me a little annoyed. While waiting for Manta to reopen after a short breakdown, an employee decided to bring up the Texas Giant incident. I'm paraphrasing what he said, but it pretty much went like this: "Our bosses are always telling us to double check...she went straight down that 400 foot drop straight down out of the train... at first I was confused as to why they had to shut down a whole area because of it. Some of her was over there, there, there, there, it was everywhere!" I felt he had no respect for this poor lady and it was just stupid to talk like that about a roller coaster incident to people who were about to board one. I did not report the incident or say anything to him about it, but I feel like I should have. 4. Manta was smooth and fun, but not a "great" coaster. It was simply pure fun to ride and fun to watch. 5. Kraken was a little rough, but still a great ride. Raging Bull, Wildfire, and Hulk were all better B&M's that I have ridden.

Here are the new attractions since 2007 and my ranking of them: Toy Story Midway Mania- 9/10 New Fantasyland- 8.5/10 Test Track 2.0- 8/10 Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow- 2.5/10 ______________________________________________________________________________________________ I have a question. I just returned from an Orlando trip and am wondering, what separates Journey to Atlantis as a water coaster from Splash Mountain and Dudley Do-Right which are called log flumes, because all three have additional hills after the drop, don't they?

Could this be for 2014? There seems to be lots of talk on a 2015 ride that will be the most expensive ride for the park, but that rumor could be wrong. It wouldn't cost much to relocate the launch/drop tower and add some more kiddie rides. If it took over the Geyser Gulch area, (but kept the foam ball fort) it would be a nice area, sort of like an expansion of the Grand Exposition. Speaking of Grand Exposition, while an area with family rides was needed, I think the themeing fell flat, at least in my opinion. A fair with carnival rides is so out of place in a small western town set in the late 1800's. But hey, little kids love it and it gives them a lot to do, and I only have to see it if I want to ride Electro Spin. Back to topic, if this new area would refurbish the Geyser Gulch area and still leave a budget for a big attraction in 2015, I think it would be great. If they bring in the firework factory theme, this could even potentially bring a fireworks show over the riverfront in the near future. At least, that idea came to me when I saw that picture.

Why did X-Flight rank so low? It looked pretty cool to me. Can anyone who has actually ridden it say what may have made it score so low? -
Boomerang was surprising fun to me (it was my first Boomerang coaster). It's no Mr. Freeze, but it is a little bit better than Ninja to me. Although, the guests waiting in line before me kept going on and on about how slow the ride was. The speeds of the coasters at the park surprise me: Mr. Freeze- 70 mph The Boss- 66 mph Screamin' Eagle- 62 mph Ninja- 55 mph Batman- 50 mph American Thunder- 48 mph Boomerang- 47 mph River King Mine Train- 37 mph Pandemonium- 31 mph I did not know Ninja and Screamin' Eagle were faster than Batman. American Thunder really isn't any faster than Boomerang.

Figment is fun I have to admit, but the ride itself is dreadful. If they keep Figment and the Imagination theme but completely redo the ride, the pavilion could be awesome. This is just a thought, but if the Muppets get removed from Hollywood Studios for Cars or Star Wars, could they modify the theater inside to suit the film, or maybe even a new original Muppet film?
