  1. Does the park test rides often during off season?
  2. Looks good, Im loving the near misses that coaster offers
  3. OMG, enthusiast nit picking The complaining about the Gaps have surpassed Yolo's coasters backward launch and St louis getting an old boomerang.
  4. Just wondering is there any other B&M's that have a Giant Corkscrew around the size of Gatekeepers, I can only think of Hydra?
  5. I disagree, Merlin knows how to market. Six Flags knows how to advertise. I was being sarcastic Whoever thought Flashback would be sitting underneath the St Louis Arch, my uncle was mourning Flashback yesterday as it was the only big coaster at SFOT he was not scared to ride.
  6. That would be nice, If the towers tall enough they could also take back, the tallest coaster record
  7. I see cedar Point is really proud of GateKeeprer and they rightfully should be. This looks great all the way around. Now that they have gotten the the rigorous work done. I can see the circuit being complete within 2 weeks.
  8. ^ Are the cobra roll footers taller than the lift hill footers because of the slope
  9. Went by the park today, Construction is moving along on TSS. The first crane has arrived and working.
  10. Wow they are taller than I expected, It will be interesting to see them apply the track to them when they are done
  11. Im glad were kinda getting sort of a new park in Dallas, but its gonna take more than an observation deck to get make this a success but I guess this is a start
  12. But that's not how this industry works. The park has to be a proven money maker first to warrant regular expensive capital expenditures. Especially, when the park has no local amusement park competition. Thats true but that said once a park goes down the chances of it ever coming back up are slim. Yes the park has to make the money to get the attractions, but if the park isnt really exciting no one gonna wanna spend the money to go.
  13. I dont think so, theres a new entusiast born everyday. However a lot of sites didnt make it. I guess it kinda goes like this. TPR is like Walmart. Walmart put a lot of other stores out of business as TPR has done to others sites. Why go anywhere else when you can get all here. Im from the south so yes I used Walmart as an example.
  14. Would that type of blasting undermine the structure of Superman? If it did then they wouldn't be doing it. Im not trying to be funny when I ask this. But what was the point of that explosion? From what it looked like there was just dirt here, if it was indeed rock or concrete i would understand. If is was just for the facination of just blowing up things, I really hope that means this ride is getting a new train, if not that money for a "fun explosion" could have been used towards that.
  15. Just seems like Six Flags is behind in construction on all there projects this year except iron rattler
  16. Steel doesnt rust if its painted and kept well I too thought the keyholes would be concrete but steel works too
  17. ^ I agree, I know B&M's have been overall weak the last 6 years of so, but this is Cedar Point, CP has an excellent collection of coasters and that's not by some random coincidence. I don't think they would all of a sudden lower their standards and accept a mediocre ride experience , at least I hope not.
  18. I do like the straight drop vs a curved twist or over banked turn drop. Just after the the straight drop there just one small helix then the ride is over. It would be nice if there was an additional element or 2 between the MCBR and the final brake run.
  19. ^ I agree, I think this coaster for the most has one of the best layouts for an multi inversion ride. The only thing that would have made it better if there was a little more after the mid-coarse break.
  20. I don't mean to get all technical but a that's considered a Dive loop (opposite of an Immelman). According to CP's press release they call it a Inclined Dive Loop – a tight, 180-degree turnaround pushes riders through an overbanked turn and rockets them back towards the station. Inclined Dive Loop, so would it technically be considered an inversion?
  21. I know this kind off subject but have any statistics on the green wing coaster in Japan released as of yet?
  22. ^ I agree, even though its moving at snail pace, some guest will somehow, find a way to get injured.
