  1. Though the webcam is not in HD, I'm almost 99.9% positive he shook and zipped after standing in that position for a short period. He most certainly did not appear to be checking out the machine. I thought it was just too hilarious not to share.
  2. He must've drank too much soda, he literally just did it again.
  3. I just went to check on construction on the webcam, watched them dig a little dirt then next I know I see the bulldozer stop. The man gets out walks around whips it out and, well... He had to go!
  4. Since I haven't had a chance to ride El Toro I can't compare, but I will say all the debate reassures me that it's a fantastic coaster as well. I will return to Silver Dollar City soon, and definitely will refer my friends. Thanks for the heads up about the cave tour it was really really interesting to learn how much influence it had on the park.
  5. Just got back from the park after visiting for a few hours. Lines were almost nonexistent! Powder Keg -15 mins Wildfire -Walk on Outlaw Run - 20 mins Didn't have a ton of time to explore, was just trying to get a feel for the layout of the park and grab a few rides to prepare for a whole day in the park tomorrow. Absolutely beautiful park, definitely has Dollywood beat, which really surprised me, I guess you can say I'm a Dollywood fanboy. Outlaw Run, WOW!!! I have no words for just how much fun that coaster is, it's just relentless beginning to end. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. First ride I was in the 3rd row and it was amazing, second ride I nabbed the backseat, while waiting in line, it went down about 45 mins before park close. They ran a few cycles of empty trains and then within 10 mins it was back up and running. The back is unbelievable. Absolutely blown away by this coaster. Really really love this park.
  6. ^^Thanks!! I'm a regular visitor of Dollywood so I'm pretty familiar with the craftsmen and always check them out. Good to hear about the short line times, was worried how soon it is after the 4th crowds may be lingering.
  7. I will be visiting the park for my first time tomorrow. Taking advantage of the come after 3 get the next day free deal since we will be arriving in Branson in the afternoon. If any one has tips for making my rounds at the park, things I don't wanna miss, awesome deals, etc. please let me know. Also how are crowds on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in July?
  8. So here's my guess after today's clue, like it's been mentioned before The Storm really sounds like it could be the name of the coaster. I was also thinking maybe The Deck is a children's play area or something similar for smaller children. Grasping at straws but "the storm" and "the deck" have been mentioned multiple times.
  9. Heading to SFStL and Silver Dollar City in July. Will be in Branson July 10th and St. Louis July 11th. Any advice on hotels and travel routes?
  10. I feel like this would be a great alternative for the zipline already in place at Dollywood. Can you imagine being able to do the entire zip course without having to stop and hike to the next platform?
  11. Maybe there is a break room under the station, like Wild Eagle.
  12. Led Zepplin, would also be a great addition for Wild Adventures, it is truly lacking a nice coaster.
  13. I'm thinking that all of the footers near Delirium/Slingshot are not for the beginning but for the end. If you look at the station/transfer track footers I believe the lift will head directly out into the cleared out land. Any clues what kind of element(s) would require so many footers like that? Has this already been mentioned? I don't mean to state the obvious.
  14. I wasn't sure until I read through this thread, but after a few people posted it, it hit me. Rock n' Roller Coaster Opryland USA, don't remember the year, just as soon as I was tall enough.
  15. I always thought building a park in between both might work, it's far enough from Dollywood. There are no other parks within a decent drive, I know because I like smack dab half way between Memphis and Nashville. But it is also, a bit too far from the tourist action. I really think Jackson would be a great location for a park one day, that city keeps on growing.
  16. Nashville, may not attract that many tourist yet but it is a growing market. Nashville in general is a pretty hustling city at the moment. I think Nashville is in the market for a theme park, maybe just more so to the west of Nashville.
  17. Here's my opinion which probably doesn't matter. My mom is now 45 and went when she was just a child (can' really tell exactly when.) I am 23 and am dying to visit. To me the Que is only is only a pre-show and most people will only visit the attraction once. So as far as the complaints go this attraction is perfect. This isn't something that needs to be re-ridable. Most GP only get to go once.
  18. I've been to the park twice in June 2007 and June 2010 and SOB was never open, so for me it's sad to see it go. Another coaster I will never be able to ride. However, I'm hoping whatever they replace this with will make up for the loss!
  19. I am actually very intrigued by this whole project.
  20. I have a friend who works at the Hotel and they switched over to Marriot about a month ago. I just assumed this was already dead in the water.
  21. I agree, great additions, but they do need a signature coaster. It doesn't have to be huge, just unique to the park. The SLC and the Boomerang are upon the worst coaster types, and last I was there Cheetah was mediocre at best. I think Wild Adventures has potential to becoming a great LITTLE park if you know what I mean.
  22. I wish those pics were larger, new angles and such that would be great to inspect.
  23. I use to go to this park multiple times per summer while visiting family in the area. Haven't been in years, it was always fun and never packed which was always a plus. I just kinda hate the re-theming of Hang Man. Wild Adventures needs a new thrill ride or land ride at least. The water park has been expanding since I can remember. All together the park is looking better than it did when I used to visit, would love to go back someday. Btw a few years ago they were supposed to be getting a new ride, don't remember much about it but it involved water and the sketch was up on their website.
  24. Orphan Rocker is just full on weird. Cable lift towards the end of the ride, a rather shady past, and check out those trains! Now, tilting trains are nothing new in the railway industry, but this is the only instance where I have heard of them placed on a roller coaster, bar suspended coasters. Isn't the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at WDW gonna have similar trains?
  25. This looks to be a great coaster I'd say one of the best wing riders, however it's not groundbreaking like Outlaw Run.
