I didn't realize that the angle of the lift hill was staying the same, I thought it was going to be adjusted into a steeper incline like wicked cyclone.

It's true, we have! The argument started with leviathan and behemoth... And this is almost exactly the same situation! Two B&M hypers, one around 230ft focusing on airtime (complete with the staggered trains) and the other about 300ft focusing on speed. They're even on the same side of the park from the entrance! Come on people, move on!

I wonder If they would actually go more in the twisted cyclone style and make it one long ride...

Good point Ryan, It's also possible that the brakes for the entire ride need to be replaced to work with the floorless trains, so there waiting to take care of that until after the ride officially closes!

I disagree, I believe the only roller coaster that we really can put up against fury is leviathan. And even in that situation I don't think that's fair since it's so far apart it's not really in competition, unless were discussing something like the Golden to get awards. I am intrigued to see how it runs compared to Leviathan, which was not very intense but extremely enjoyable and fun, as well as compared to intimidator 305 which is clearly on the more extreme end of the giga coaster category. No matter what, it's gonna be a great addition to the park and I absolutely love the color scheme (especially the thin stripe on the bottom) as well as the look of the new entrance to the park! Next season I'll be going to Kings Dominion followed the next day by Carowinds and I cannot wait to put the two Gigas back to back!

I'm pulling this thread up from the grave since there is some excitement on long island about the new Mack spinning coaster coming next year. I went to the park today after lunch with my mother since I had the day off (got to love Jewish Holidays and working in public schools!). Got my last ride on the Hurricane and the last ride of the season in! Took a few pictures of our beloved S.D.C. hurricane before it is removed. I agree, park as close as possible. Absolutley... Although I hate parking lot coasters while riding them, being able to go stand under Kingda ka and watch it take off prior to getting in the car for the ride home is always a delight!

Well I'm sure the fact that it's all the same color helps... Easier than trying to paint a stripe or something...

Keep in mind,mine crane has to fit in all the areas the track is going... And there not cutting down too many trees for this ride... I wouldn't be surprised to see a smaller crane that can easily move...

I'm not surprised, after the debacle of last season's new rides almost all opening significantly later than their original opening date, it's not at all amazing to see that so many of the rides are already being built... Plus I'm sure RMC is wanting to get there roller coasters Bill sooner than later so that they can focus on building their new factory as well!

That may have to do with what it's standing with in the park... As Chamg, it was T2, and a few other "not world class" coasters... At great adventure its standing with Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Nitro... That a tough group to stand up to...
