  1. This makes me wonder if there will be 2 seperate launches. One to get it through the loop and one to get it up and over the top hat(i smell trims). Or maybe just one launch with a quick turnaround that leads to the top hat. The loop might pull some serious g's thhen. Either way this coaster seems (so-far) to be a bit Of a letdown. Seems MM is going with gimmicks and one-trick ponys now. Yet it does seem unique, as long as it rides good and pulls some decent air, it will suffice.
  2. ^ Yes! maXair and Skyhawk are by-far my favorite flat rides. maXair has some good "pop" air, and the views are good. It's an overall enjoyable experience, worth a 45 min wait. Skyhawk, nothing but airtime and speed! It's no surprise more frisbee-type rides are showing up nowadays.
  3. Small County-fair type park.
  4. Update! Lots of new screenshots to show with you all today. I've completed most of the odds and ends around the park. View of the Park from Blue Streak's turnaround. Same, but at night. Sky Ride station. Jack Aldrich theatre, Bayou refreshments, Hurricane Hannah's, Midway Carousel and GateKeeper in the backround. The completed Picnic area. It's not 100% exact, RCT3 demensions are hard to work with. Bear with me people Coral Dining Room, Joe's Cool Cafe, Pagoda and that random castle-like building. Current construction zone Final shot of GateKeeper with the Main Midway in the backround. I can't wait to ride this one in June. Comments would be appreciated, feedback always helps me improve.
  5. ^im with you100%. I'm hoping premier surprises me, S:TUF was a step in the right direction. Lets just hope they keep going with this momentum. Launch, Loop, ground hugging banked turns and some heartlines/barrels is all I'm expecting.
  6. Cedar Point Kennywood Park Don't travel much, but I hope to do 2X more next summer.
  7. Well most parks are like that, 2 or 3 world class coasters. 2 or great coasters, and the rest are average. i.e. SF:Great Adventure World Class: El Toro, Nitro Good: Bizarro, Superman Average: Batman, Green Lantern etc.
  8. I know this has probably been brought up dozens of times in this thread, but I'd like to address the Mean Streak situation once again. The ride has received some much needed TLC over the off-season and rides much better. It's not "OMG this is like glass!", but is some-what enjoyable now. I know CP is now focusing all their negative thoughts on MS now that DT is gone. I really hope they do some serous treatment to this coaster, because re-tracking the ride each year is only going to do so much. I know Cp would probably never do the "I-Box" track. But why not Topper? I know it's a bit pricey but It could really pay off. Newer/lighter trains would help with the structure, causing less wear and tear as the current massive trains do. This would mean less money spent on repairs during the off-season. Topper track really seems the best way to go, the ride will run like it did on the first day, but maintaining that for years to come! Mean Streak's layout is considered "bland" by many. But Imagine if MS had newer RM-trains with all-new topper track. Just imagine how much air-time you would get on those bunnys scattered throughout the ride. You would fly over those banked turns and down into the valleys, possibly keeping a Voyage-like pace. All this without hurting and best of all, NO TRIMS! An investment like this could really pay off for MS and CP. Their ride will be more popular and less money would be spent on wood. I know this situation is probably not that simple, as I've never run a mult-million dollar amusement park. But when you look at the big picture, it seems the best way to go...
  9. Dosen't look that bad actually. I just hope thier working on RCT4!
  10. I believe that is the rail causing that and not the cars..makes me wonder if Eejanaika and Dinoconda have the same issue. Still, it is the one coaster they have that is definitely that unique even if it isn't everyone's favorite. I find it a bit weird that so many people look at it and go 'meh' because it still provides an experience that no other coaster (other than the two above) can provide. The thing was launched 10 years ago and still is the ride most people run to in the morning and consistently has the longest line in the park almost every single day. I don't think there's a lot of 10 year old rides out there still spinning turnstiles like that. To me that's pretty impressive even if I didn't like the ride. I do think that what Arrow did with X was very innovative. Although most rides towards the front of parks almost always have long lines. i.e. Raptor, Skyrocket. 2013 Thoughts: I just hope this thing provides some decent airtime, but this is Six Flags. There still new to this thing called a "launched coaster" Just don't let it be another monster inversion coaster, those grow old and tire.
  11. UPDATE: 8/26/12 I've worked a bit more on this project and have completed some buildings and scenery around the park. Most of these are all WIP, so don't judge to harsh. There will be some more scenery added later. Coral Dining Room (WIP) Pagoda Gift Shop. Notice GateKeeper poking through the top View from Midway Carousel. Looking towards Toft's Ice Cream and Donut Time. *Wish I was on Wicked Twister* View from Pink's. Looking towards Midway Market, Raptor and Blue Streak. Splash Area (WIP). Hot potato and Attitudes in the backround. Blue Streak Station. Trying out some CS. Trying out some more CS on Blue Streak,I think I'm getting better at this I leave you with a view atop of Windseeker.
  12. Best Rides in CA (IMO) 1. Xcelerator 2. Tatsu 3. Medusa Those are the only rides that I see worthy of visiting CA for.
  13. ^Thanks for the replies. I do agree that some CFR and Custom Supports would spruce it up allot more, but I'm doing a mostly no CS recreation.
  14. That must hurt. But this doesn't surprise me, this is on of the GP. Surprised he didn't suffer a broken neck. Ive always found It "dumb" when people throw their arms up during TTD's launch. It's going to cause you nothing but pain and possibly a broken arm. Just my 2c.
  15. Hello all. I've been working on a CP project for quite some time now and think it's time I gave you all a little preview. This recreation will be mostly NCS. If your looking for CS, turn back now! So far I've completed most of the Beach and Main Midway. Midway Market, Toft's, Camp Snoopy etc. I'm really pouring alot of time and effort into this so I would appreciate some feedback and comments to help make this one of the best RCT3 CP recreations. So without further ado... Parts of Kiddy Kingdom, Sky Ride, Giant Wheel, maXair, Windseeker, Extreme Sports Staduim(WIP) Coliseum, Snoopy's Botique, Part of Planet Snoopy, Wicked Twister, Giant Wheel, maXair, GateKeeper. MORE SOON! *I am posting this on RCTL also*
  16. You don't know much about MM. If you did you'd realize they focus 99.9% of their time and effort on coasters, this is the go-to coaster park. Nothing more nothing less. SF tried the "multiple coaster plan" back in the early 2000's, and it worked for MM. They're still going with that momentum.
  17. I'll give DT untill sunday. Bring on GateKeeper!
  18. So Toppertrack is just steel on-top of the wood, and i-box is a complete replacement of the old track. Thank you for explaining that, I was confused with the difference. And I do agree that Toppertrack still makes a coaster wooden.
  19. Here is a thought; this coaster may be 307' (seing the CF giga-trend) Hopefully this coaster utilizes "bunny camels" like levaithan, but more intense. Id much rather see this coaster be full of those and less giant camels. Size isn't everything.
  20. ^Uhoh! We could see another ride leaving us (WT) lets hope not, Id rather have them push SS on DT
  21. Intamin could be it. Some parks (CP) do multi-coaster additions from manufactuers. So it's still possible. But Mack seems more MMish. Just my 2ยข.
  22. ^If not Intamin then it could be a Mack. www.mack-rides.com/en/products/coasters/launch-coaster/c-lc-info/c-lc-info.html
  23. The entire area around DT has been boarded up. SS is being demolished, and Troika is now closed due to to its close proximity to the construction site. It will most likely be closed the rest of the season, and re-open next season. pointbuzz.com/Photos/Photo.aspx?id=8179 ^Image is not mine, Photo taken by Michael Rearick.
  24. Thunderbolt at Kennywood. -The most intense Airtime I've ever experienced anywhere -Forcefull -Smooth -Terrain hugging The Voyage at Holiday World might take the top spot once I ride it, that POV has me hooked!
