Do you buy DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Stream Video?
jray21 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would still buy a DVD version, but the Bluray versions are incredible in their quality. I would happily pay a bit more for the Bluray versions. -

The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
jray21 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Definitely the best views I've seen from any coaster! I definitely will have to go on it sometime! -

Hopi Hari Theme Park 2011 - Brazil
jray21 replied to Lucas.Almeida's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I tried to plan to go the 22, but my dad had already made other plans so we will probably be going on Thursday or Friday. Wish you could make it! -
Going to try and do some running while I'm on vacation in Brazil. There is nothing more difficult to me than going for a run during a vacation. Hopefully I won't get robbed, shot, stabbed, bitten my a mosquito carrying malaria, or hit by a car/bus/motorcycle.

Another amazing post! The nut rolls and mac and cheese looked really good, but the doughnut shopped looked absolutely amazing! Doughnuts are my #1 weakness. I must go visit! -
I finally found the iGiftBag information for the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon. There is a link in the final race instruction emails. Really nothing to look at.
-
By the way, what was the iGiftBag we were supposed to get? Did I miss it somehow? I know they said we would get it instead of the normal gift bag, but I didn't see information on it anywhere. I tried using a QRcode reader on the symbol on the bib but it didn't work.

TPR's 2012 China Trip!
jray21 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only thing that could make Larry's shirt more obnoxious is a soccer team logo on it like Colin! Awesome report! Love the rides of death and the Chinese food that tastes like Chinese food! So jealous! -

Hopi Hari Theme Park 2011 - Brazil
jray21 replied to Lucas.Almeida's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have the opportunity to visit Brazil next week and want to hit up some parks in the Sao Paulo area (I'll be staying near Butantã, Caxingui(?) in Sao Paulo) I saw that Hopi Hari is open, but was wondering about the other parks in the area. Also, how hard is it to travel to the different parks in Sao Paulo (no rental car), and what about some parks just outside of Sao Paulo? Thanks in advance! -

That reminds me of the beaver tails they used to have in Canada. The beaver tail with maple and Nutella was amazing! -

Wow, this really just made my night. Those past updates look so incredibly amazing. I am so incredibly jealous! If I win the lottery, I will pay you a crap load of money to just take me from place to place! Can't wait to see more! -
Been playing NSMB2 lately and am really liking it. Also finally started Zelda: Skyward Sword and it's great like all the others. I also have been addicted to the stupid Simpson's Tapped Out.

Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
jray21 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
QFT! Our visit to Disneyland Paris was terrible. The park itself looked good and had a lot of good stuff, but the Disney 'service' was no where to be seen. It by far had the worst employees on the entire Europe trip, and even worse than most US parks! -
The meet and great looks really cool! I'm just sad I have to wait for Adam's report before I can see all the types of trash cans and drinking fountains there are I love how there is a war between the fanboys over who has the best 'drink.' Butterbeer vs. Energon vs. this new drink. They are all pretty good, and they're all totally different. One is orange, one is cream soda, one is apple. The only thing they have in common is that they are all severely overpriced! Although, the fact that Energon comes with a glow fest ice cube does give it a little bump. I really can't wait to see the completion of all of this. Looks like they are doing some incredible things. Thanks for the great report!

Info about RSR and the FastPass line. They do not start distributing the FastPasses until the park opens to the public. However, they will allow people to start lining up right away. Also, where the line is currently, being a hotel guest and getting in an hour early really doesn't help to much for the FastPass line. The reason is that the line starts at the entrance to It's Tough to be a Bug, and goes straight back into the main plaza area. They will usually let the public in about 30 minutes early, and by that time the line is already into the "public" area so anyone can get into it. In other words. If you have early entry to DCA, you have to get in the Fast Pass line earlier than 30 minutes before the park opens to the public, otherwise the public will start filling it all up. On the other side, if you're the general public, if you can get in the park 30 minutes early you should have no problem getting a relatively early time, even if it's early entry. One last thing. Disney loves opening additional entry gates to the park without warning. I will always line up at one of the lines on the sides. That way, right when they open a new entry gate I can run right up to the front. Granted, this has been my experience in mid-August, and this past week. Hope this helps.

Amy and I rode Indy the night it closed and it definitely was in bad shape. One odd thing was that for our final ride the fire "tornado" in the eye was working. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw it working. I visit LA about 3 times a year, so I'm definitely not an expert, but I actually forgot that the effect was even there.

Congratulations! For your first 1/2 it's definitely about just finishing. I had a really fun race with Renee and Greg. We stopped a lot for pictures, but our actual running speed was pretty good! You definitely have to watch out for the Powerade. I've done a couple of runs where I've over done it and it really screws up your stomach. My favorite part of the 1/2 is probably running through Angel's stadium and having all those people cheer for you. The only thing disappointing about this year was the lack of 'goodies.' In previous years, you got a bunch of useless crap, but there would be a few things that I would always use. This year, they should have just left the bag empty versus putting one tiny cliff bar in it. I think that made it seem even worse. I was also surprised at the lack of food at the end of the 1/2, and heard a few people complaining about it. After burning about 1500 calories, I need a little bit more than about 300 calories to recover. I also like to run on a treadmill rather than outside. I have a treadmill set up in our workout room and I love not having to worry about weather, or getting ready to go to the gym, and being able to watch TV and movies to keep my mind off the pain. However, even if I set the incline at 2-3%, I know I have to at least do 1/2 my runs on cement/streets or my joints and muscles won't adjust correctly to the distances. I learned that at my first full marathon. My muscles weren't tired at all, and my heart rate was still really low, but my joints and bones hurt so bad. I've caught the stupid running bug again, and signed up for the San Francisco Urbantahalon in November, and the Dopey challenge at Disney World in January! Yes, I'm a complete idiot.

2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!

This is definitely in my top 5 of amazing TPR experiences. Imagine an insane jungle gym play place for adults. The city museum alone is worth the trip!
