Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread
prozach626 replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think next year will be more of the same with most parks. If they limit attendance based on proof of vaccination, they're going to limit their customer base. I'm also not sure of what proof of vaccination there is to offer, aside from maybe a paper document. If proof becomes mandatory for a lot of activities the government is way behind the ball at this point. -

I hope they keep riding the classic ride wave. The crow is proving to be a real OG. -

I'm waiting for someone to say they don't have a hotel, because Cedar Fair doesn't want Kings Island to compete with Cedar Fair. -

People didn't ever think Six Flags Saint Louis would be open in December. -

I heard Six Flags has some rides for sale if Indiana Beach is interested... -

It seems recently businesses sure are throwing around the word "luxury." It's becoming about as useless as the intangible label, "World Class." -

So basically there were about as many rides open as there would be in peak season with 15 mph winds. -

At least the loss of one coaster comes with an upgraded replacement. -

I don't think this park gives a shit about the enthusiast community, because they can't afford to right now. I think Indiana Beach is trying to establish its identity as a quirky and fun park, with a focus on nostalgia. This coaster will fit right in. A larger newer attraction might look as out of place as Impulse. -

How is stringing lights off of the tower a comparison to the amount of work needed for an event like Winterfest? Be grateful, because from the sounds of it KI had one of the better seasons in the industry. -

Wow. You're trying pretty hard to make lemonade. Ouch. I just texted his phone the other day. His parents have been replying back on his status for the past couple months. Emily and I were concerned. We knew things were bad. Really sucks. He's the only coaster dude I've ever met up with. We texted regularly. I'm going to miss our conversations. Thanks for the update. I'd been trying not to blow his phone up too much, because I didn't want to bother his parents. -

I guess you didn't notice the almighty dollar is in short supply for 2020. Survival means paying a bit more. Be happy they're open. -

Isn't it, though? We're lucky to speak such a common international language. I'm still apprehensive of traveling overseas, because even though English is so common, I still worry about the language barrier or if it's perceived as rude to not speak the language. I haven't had the balls to make the trek, yet. -

Yep! I'm still holding out for pierogi to make my first trip, though. -
Define the word "us." I like B&M hypers and I like B&M gigas. I find Diamondback, Goliath, Mako, and Raging Bull especially all ride different from one another. If you've ridden one classic wooden out-and-back coaster, have you ridden them all? I'd be able to relate to your idea much more if we were talking about wild mouse coasters and boomerangs. Hypers just don't seem to be 'your' flavor.

I'm not trying to be negative, but I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. Did I miss something? I wasn't under the impression topper track would never to be replaced/retracked. El Toro is a prefab wood coaster and it still receives regular retracking. RMC may have pushed the envelope a little too far with Lightning Rod. It's nothing most other roller coaster manufacturers haven't done. -
I miss those days.

So a classic ride followed by a classic roller coaster. I hope this is a continued trend for IB. Another version of Knoebels would be great.
