  1. The trees are coming down for Goliath's MCBR.
  2. My comment was referring to being in the park with other people, but using a fastlane alone, while they socialize with each other. I should have known it was going to spawn comments justifying solo visits.
  3. Gone for good, is my guess. I don't see a reason to spend the money on bringing them back. ROI
  4. If you go on a weekday and stay until close, you will not need to go two days. It's a small park. Get to the water park as soon as possible. Go straight to the water coasters.
  5. It very well may be your friends laughing at the person hanging out all by themself.
  6. The park is looking pretty good, considering last year. Considering Catwoman is going to need different clearances, I would only imagine significant changes will take place in that area. I don't expect anything to happen this year when attention can be paid elsewhere. I'm with everyone else hoping something is done about Eagle's queue. I mean... is verbal communication even a thing anymore, for the oncoming workforce?... This is always a conversation. I don't understand why people keep eating food at SF parks. I wouldn't wait an hour at my favorite pizza place, let alone for park food. Not even cinnamon bread is worth an hour. I think the balance will still be there, replacing Superman with a visually imposing thrill ride, which also capitalizes on height. Superman was probably my favorite drop tower and it will be personally missed, but only to an extent. (The loss won't personally be as bad as when we lost Mr. Freeze...) It seemed so much taller than it was and the view was good. But, as far as popularity goes, I don't think SFSTL is missing much. The Moon Cars ate shit after Evil Kinevil was added. I remember we were all surprised to see them come back and the opinions were mixed at best. I was looking forward to taking Eve on them, as one of the only rides she could go on, but it's a good long term play.
  7. Agreed on waiting for 2022. Wait an extra year and add a couple days onto the trip. Visit local this year. If you don't have plans for vaccination, I would absolutely not consider traveling. It's only a matter of time before you're going to be required to show proof, at the very least for travel. It's just not a good year to risk anything with long term plans, in my opinion. Things could go south in a matter of a few days. Also, if I were going to travel all that way, I wouldn't want a neutered experience. Good luck with your decision. Yes. That's like saying, "I could swap out white bread for ice cream."
  8. If everyone compacts, it gets people closer to the station, which can only mean getting on the ride quicker. Less distance = less wait. It's simple science.
  9. Actually, it's already constructed, but this thread was trying to compete with the Worlds of Fun thread for inactivity. Way to ruin it.
  10. Back row. That way, she'll never want to ride another roller coaster again and you can save money by leaving her at home.
  11. Crossing my fingers for an explosive demolition, so I can go watch...
  12. Thanks for sharing the photos. Digging the new wood work.
  13. I applaud this company for their appreciation for nostalgia, and understanding there's still a market for it. (probably the driving factor, but still...)
  14. I remember the paintball attraction being a head scratcher for me. That was during the five years or so I didn't visit, despite being an hour from the park. Granted, I was the typical thrill demanding enthusiast back then, so no new coasters meant it wasn't worth the drive.
  15. Did you go on a weekend, or a week day? I think we went shortly after they reopened, then again for Winterfest. Both days were fail. American Thunder was one train ops: They ran one train, every other row. The train would be unloaded and drenched with the (seemingly) cheapest worst smelling sanitizer in existence. They would cycle the train empty to dry it. Then, they would load every other row, again. We walked by the entrance attendant carrying a bag. We waited about 30 minutes for those operations. When we went to get on the train we were told we couldn't leave our bags on the platform. We're not used to carrying bags. We should have known better, but it also would have been great for the entrance attendant, maybe the easiest job in the park, stop us. Everything else we saw was one train, every other row, with an unmotivated sanitizing session in between. The park was depressing, it was hot, and we left. #karenstrong
  16. Careful. You're going to trigger someone if you put "The" in front of a ride name.
  17. Send emails, make calls, do whatever you can to get in touch with someone ASAP.
  18. It had gone a little beyond that, but Ok. --------------------- Anyway, I don't believe Outlaw Run has gotten rough, aside from a pothole on the first drop that I experienced from opening year. That's kept it from making my list as a preferred back seat ride. I also hope the tree clearing doesn't expose the not so aesthetically pleasing maintenance area. Hopefully Herschend doesn't continue to plow through trees. Historically, they've walked the fine line between new attractions and retaining the old school charm, which differentiates the park from corporate parks. I feel like I'm getting old just by saying that.
  19. So, yeah... How about those theme parks, eh?
  20. Not even one joke about adding a new ride when they can't staff what they have?
  21. Bert... dude, chill... I'm not in favor of opening up any state, so we have no beef. My post was a response to Kim's questions, except it came with a poor joke on media in general. There were no political undertones.
  22. Texas has "opened up" since march, lifting mask mandates and allowing businesses to be at 100% capacity. It didn't make major news networks, because loosening COVID restrictions are no longer controversial enough. Executive order GA-34, available for public view: This doesn't mean businesses still can't have mask mandates. The partitions are still in place, because there's no need to remove them yet, if they may potentially have to be put back up. I'm guessing if they're taken down, it will be long from now and quietly done on an as-needed circumstance for maintenance or damage.
