  1. Nice to see ol' Grizz's third turnaround being retracked, that in my opinion was the last problematic spot that needed retracking (the first two being the first drop and the coat hanger transition into the second turnaround, which are now retracked). Last season that final turn shook me up quite bit and was a bit of a boob/man boob jiggler, so I'm glad to see it smoothed out for this season... ...but adhering to tradition, I'm STILL going to rank Grizzly last come the 2013 Mitch poll, lol!
  2. You must be 18 or older for standup ejector airtime.
  3. Nice to see Demon's red train getting rehabbed, looks like it'll be the smoother one this season (yellow will be the rougher train, orange will be sitting out for rehab). I don't want to make the same mistake I did one particular day last season and sit in the front half of the rougher train, ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch!
  4. These dates are perfect for me as my classes start up later that month. I haven't visited SFMM nor KBF, but this may very well be the time I lose my virginity for both parks. It'll be my first TPR event ever if I go and I'm very excited! *thinks about a TPR takeover of KBF's new flyers*
  5. Tonight, the low where I live will be 27 F according to Weather Underground. The bay area can get pretty nippley, but it is a bit rare to have temperatures dip into the 20s like this. I'll have to scrape the frost off of my car's windshield before I head over to college tomorrow (got my license in early December, practiced driving around until my quarter started last week, now I commute by car regularly).
  6. ^^^ Joris en de Draak at Efteling, with Water falling 17 spots (19-36) and Fire falling 11 spots (29-40). I'm curious as to how the twin GCIs would fall so quickly in their early years.
  7. EarthBound and Mother 3 are both awesome. Very awesome.
  8. I just wanna say that I too am very happy about this. Victory for common sense! Now if only this could apply towards bringing in Tagadas and European funfair style funhouses.
  9. Great TR as always! Looks like you all had an "unacceptable amount of wetness" visit, especially with those Delirium/flyers rides.
  10. As far as going back in time to ride one, I'd pick the SDC Windstorm/Hurricane that once lived at Fun Forest by the Space Needle in Seattle. Rode it in summer of 2004 on a family trip, and from what I remember it ran MUCH faster than SCBB's (that one's closed too, being relocated to NM). It provided a much more intense ride as a result, powerful from start to finish, and the train still had quite a bit of speed going into the brakes.
  11. Aaaaannd, here's another GWW/CGA TR! Had a great time yesterday evening, there were a fair share of epic moments to be had as Angry_Gumball pointed out in his TR on the previous page. I arrived at the park around an hour before the other members of the gang arrived to take some GoldPorn pics, and in these the coaster is bathed in the setting sun, looks pretty! In the "Raiders" funhouse the carnies fixed the "butthurt" (those who have gone through it will know what I'm talking about) joints in the final slide, but there were still a few more joints further down that felt like there were death spikes on it or something, OUCH! Don't have much else to say other than enjoy the photos! UPDATE: Zamperla Teacups! Some more Gold Porn, as there can never be enough of it. They've filled in all the concrete for the first drop. No progress on the lift. All the crazy storms we've had in the past few weeks have slowed things down a little. They'll probably kick it into high gear again soon weather permitting! Mmmmmmmm...random GCI wood... C-clamps in the foreground, steel rails in the background. How many layers can you count? EIGHTY DEGREES!!! Ah, yes, our good ol' old-school beemer. It'll be its 20th anniversary this season! "Do a barrel roll!" Once again, this is an angle one would never get under normal CGA circumstances. GWW thinks otherwise though! I wish QueerRudie were here with us to see this... Empty White Water Falls. Best. Bridge. Ever. Super Yellow Slide o' Death back with a vengeance! Goodbye CGA, last visit of 2012! See you again on March 29th for Gold Striker hotness!
  12. Giant Dipper at SCBB. I would like my first 2013 coaster to be Gold Striker, but I'll be getting coaster withdrawals long before its opening (unconfirmed, but considering how fast the construction is going...) on CGA's opening day of March 29th.
  13. ^^ You'll know whether the yellow slide is running well or not depending on whether your tailbone hurts or not afterwards due to the insane airtime. Last time we did it, it wasn't that greasy and it felt like we hit a trim on the fourth and final dip and there wasn't any airtime though. Hopefully they've re-greased it back to it's original glory!
  14. Argh, these teasers are driving me insane! I've always wanted to visit Silverwood, but the presence of this to-be monster may just make me go this coming summer. I'm in a state of wishful thinking bliss right now, can't wait to find out what this thing is!
  15. YES! YES! YES! That means it should ideally go balls out from start to finish, just needs a little breaking in after opening and some bay area morning fog to lube the track up...making it glisten...dripping wet with moisture...allowing the train to go harder and harder, faster and faster...just imagine a night ride after a rainstorm! I noticed that when I observed the layout from Star Tower, it doesn't seem to protrude out towards the building the way the old layout did. Also, lower to the ground + tighter = more out-of-control ride.
  16. I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed on the 21st, so it'll certainly be the end for them!
  17. Currently playing the Mega Man classic series (1-8 on Anniversary Collection, 9 and 10 on WiiWare). They all provide a good challenge, with the hardest IMO being 1, 2, 7, and 9. One thing they all have in common though is that they have DAMN good soundtracks. Some of my favorite pieces of video game music ever are in this series!
  18. Awesome TR! Looks like you all had a blast. Love that famous Starfox 64 quote in the middle.
  19. I'll definitely be there with you all if I can make the long trek from where I live!
  20. GoldPorn update time! The "drumstick" turn is now fully tracked, the turn after the first drop is going up (looks much sharper in banking than in the animation), and they've filled in the area of that turn with concrete. Now for some pics of the curvaceous beast...
  21. Giant Dipper (SCBB). Runs very smooth thanks to how very well maintained it is (a few potholes are present at the bottoms of the first and second drops though). Great airtime in the back seat and some extreme laterals in the fan turns. It also has Morgan trains that are actually GOOD. Just a single position lap bar and nothing else, makes for some quick dispatches and lots of .
  22. My first visit to GWW exceeded my expectations for surprises and overall insanity. Crazy carnie death machines, insanely expensive food, TPR antics, and the sort. Definitely one of the more fun and interesting visits to CGA that I've done! Angry_Gumball wrote a great summary of the evening's events on the previous page, so I'll let my photos and their captions to the talking. I can say this though: *thump...thump...thump...OUCH!!!* Even now, my A$$ still hurts from that awesomely demented slide. List of highlights: -GoldPorn, can't have enough of it. -Backstage path open, meaning photos of Anton's feet. -Clench-n-squish (4-man) ride on Tilt-A-Whirl, a lot of fun! -Starship 2000. That ride is wrong in an awesome way. -Super Yellow Slide o' Death! List of letdowns: -Wristband process was a bit of a hassle. -Dizzy Dragons' bad foundation basically means no intense spinning. Now, photos and video! INSANE Slide o' Death Offride Snowfoam Tree TPR antics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gunvbfQEBxQ All right, we're back! I see you Gold Striker lift hill... Stadium going up fast! Death wheel and Flight Deck. Not a good match... Something Intamin-y sticks out of the bushes. There were workers all over GS! Gotta thank them for getting this thing up so quickly. NERDS! "Dude, where the hell are we supposed to take these?!" Finally, got our sexy wristbands and stamps! Yay flyers! OK, this wheel looks innocent, but it rotated quite fast and actually pulled a little Gs at the bottom. WTF?! NERD SHOT! "A wild Jeff appeared! Jeff used Flash! Blue Fire Guy's accuracy fell!" I honestly thought this was a Waveswinger when I first looked at it. Pretty! Swings... Drippy lights like MMMM's, but bluish white. Achoo! The Elephant is still alive and kickin'! Underworld Alley is no more...for now. Commence Disneyland castle size jokes in 3...2...1... All right, time to eat expensive fattening food! "Rocky Mountain Alan Schilke Outlaw Run burgers." These were actually pretty good! Nom nom nom... Backstage path. This is a photo-op that you'd NEVER get under ordinary CGA circumstances. A Cedar Fair trash can reminds us of where we are... Angry_Gumball tries to right up the leaning tower of Pisa. Strange how this is in the Dead Man's Cove area and is still using a marine theme. XTREME CLOSE-UP!!! Burj Khalifa. Epilepsy peacock! And now...time for the most INSANE, screwed up, and totally awesome attraction of GWW! Your A$$ actually catches on fire when you go down, so they leave burn marks there. DO NOT BE FOOLED by this little humps! They will KICK YOUR A$$ in the best way possible! This is not blurred because of shakiness, this is blurred because Jeff is hauling A$$ enough to break the light barrier. Time for Raiders of the Lost Ark, the ultimate GS vantage point! EIGHTY DEGREES! Rob attempts to slide through, this is actually more difficult than it looks. A barricade consisting of Cedar Fair trash cans and a fence? You know what this means... Sexy! More pretty lights. No water here... Snowfoam machine. Snowfoam tree! At Columbia...wait, WTF?! YES PLEASE! Sexy midway curve... The lift goes straight towards a lamp post. No, it really does! NERD! Overlord is gone...at least until fall 2013... Time to head back to the carnival of death with ghetto Dinosaurs Alive! Grrrr... Too bad we couldn't try these... Sign of quality. Such an intense, bizarre ride! Yay Tilt-A-Whirl! Nerdy Tilt-A-Whirl stats. Max capacity 4. Clench-n-squish! 3 minute cycle. Nice and long! f*u*l*l t*h*r*o*t*t*l*e "Journey of Jeff Johnson" Here, Jeff Johnson isn't even out of his egg yet he is already 5 years old. Loop-de-loop. Dizzy Dragons...why did you have to be put in such a bad place? A combination of wooden footers and a muddy foundation makes as much sense as shoving diarrhea up your butt. They had a Jeff Johnson credit here too. Cute! Jeff Johnson's cousins. The moons say good night as I take my leave. Good night CGA/GWW. Thank you for a night of CRAZY FUN!
  23. Definitely coming along Saturday evening! Finally getting GoldPorn after Haunt will be exciting. Folks, bring an extra change of clothes! We'll take over Dizzy Dragons and the flyers as well, one can only know how those two rides will end up with TPR members on them.
  24. Thanks for the update! Is it me or is it that the midway turn looks lower than it was in the rendering? It's getting sexier every week, and GWW is coming soon...a word of advice: Should you venture to GWW, then bring tens of towels!
