  1. Diana named her chinchilla "Chimichanga." Don't ask me why... Eric
  2. ^ I doubt they renegotiate. Even $35 to upgrade is a bargain. I paid $125 for my Xtreme Play Pass and have been five times this year already. And many more, I'm sure. Eric
  3. ^ No, smoking is only allowed in the designated areas of the park. But people do smoke wherever they like, unfortunately. Disneyland/DCA is like that, too. Not sure if Knott's is, though. Eric
  4. I've always wondered whatever happened to Ron Toomer. No doubt he retired, but nothing's been said about him. Also, I wonder how Karl Bacon and Ed Morgan (Arrow's founders) are doing---if they're still with us. Eric
  5. ^^ Very nice! Thanks for doing that, Alpenguy! Now it's time for me to get to work doing an AutoCAD version. I think I'll add arrows to assist in following the layout. Eric
  6. There are Matterhorn stories in David Koenig's Mouse Tales: A Behind-the-Ears Look at Disneyland. "Dolly's Dip" was mentioned in the book; that's how I learned of it, but I never knew exactly which part of the ride it was. Koenig wrote a second book, More Mouse Tales. I don't recall if the second title is the exact one, but either book shouldn't be hard to find. EDIT: Another thing, about the construction of the mountain itself...the cement work was done from top to bottom so that any spilled concrete wouldn't spoil what was already finished. Eric
  7. ^ Heavy in the head. < Used to be heavy (210 lb., now 160) V Used to be smart, now light in the head!
  8. ^ Those play in the Sky Tower Museum. Just the other day I watched the ones for the Revolution. LOL!!! "It'll knock your socks flat off!!!" Eric
  9. SFMM got the Sarajevo Bobsleds in 1984. And I believe one or two others opened that same year at other Six Flags parks. Eric
  10. I have no issues with this as long as readable license plates and recognizable faces are obscured. Otherwise, it's a great tool for checking out an area before you go. Eric
  11. I remember seeing something about the Arrow Flying Turns back in the early '80s. Not long after that, SFMM got the Sarajevo Bobsleds. At the time, I was not aware that Intamin was developing a version, so I thought that SFMM got the Arrow version. It is too bad that the Pipeline never got past the prototype stage. Imagine what they could have done with that! Eric
  12. This topic inspired me---I just got back from the Oxnard Chick-Fil-A. Good stuff! Eric
  13. I've seen those frozen White Castle burgers in the market when I go, and I've been tempted... But for whatever reason, I've resisted. Maybe that's smart! Eric
  14. I was still asleep when the last three posts were made. Eric
  15. "Is it called "The Colossus" or just "Colossus"?" (montezooma) Colossus. No "The" in it, like most newer rides. But it really bugs me when people say "The Colossus," "The Ninja," "The Viper," etc. Eric
  16. ^^ How could Montezooma's Revenge smack you in the head? Unlike its cousin 50 miles north in Valencia, there aren't any OTSRs on it. Eric "Rode Monte in 1978 when it opened" L.
  17. "I wish they would start popping up on the west coast like "Chick Fil A" is." (JimmyBo) Actually, in the early '80s, there was a chain called WestCastle out here in the L.A. area, which was actually the same thing. Back then, we stopped in there on a regular basis (maybe that's what kept us regular! ). But that chain was short-lived. Obviously, we "health conscious" Californians didn't take to it very well. There's a Chick-Fil-A in Oxnard in---surprise!---a former Krispy Kreme location. I eat there on a regular basis. To me, it's honestly a good product. Eric
  18. I've only ridden Florida's and California's. California's is smooth, but mostly right hand turns. Florida's has gotten rough, but I like its layout better. Eric
  19. "Must be for a Hannah Montana ride then." (Robb) Robb, you're coming over to my house and getting the Diet Coke off of my screen... Eric
  20. I'll bet that many honorary type plaques are tagged on a regular basis, be it at historical sites or wherever. Regardless, it gets old. I'm not sure why that particular segment of our population has such a need to put their names on public property. Eric
  21. I don't know whatever possessed me to be in the chat here for two hours earlier tonight. It went by so fast that I didn't realize I was in there that long. Eric
  22. ^^ Nice start, Alpenguy. I'm looking forward to the finished product. Eric
  23. I did get it back, but I figured if I brought it there again, I might lose it again! That would be my luck! And another thing: Superman was running both sides today. I don't know if they did at the same time (didn't ride it), but I saw cars going up the tower on both tracks, sort of intermittently. Eric
  24. And this is DCody's topic, so if we talk about stuff she likes, then we're still on topic! Eric
