  1. Loni: https://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/article/Life-After-Burt-Reynolds-Loni-Anderson-says-he-3020185.php the late Judy Carne documents it in her book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2016473.Laughing_on_the_Outside_Crying_on_the_Inside
  2. Thanks. . it really was an incredible experience (tho wow, was it hot back there out in the sun) . and 100% agreed, how great it is that Robb and Elissa can make cool "bonus" experiences like that happen! BTW. . working on next installment (Six Flags America). . hope to have that up some time tomorrow afternoon.
  3. ^^ & ^he was a wife-beater. (both Judy Carne, and 2nd wife Loni Anderson were/are on record accusing him). glad you enjoyed his films, and as an actor I suppose he was ok. as a human being? he was a piece of garbage. and I'll bet very few of the obits are going to mention this. and sorry to be negative in the RIP thread.. there are a handful of Celebrities that would elicit the same reaction from me.
  4. great report on Hershey, tho sad so many of the food options were closed (that bubbles place was open when we were there w/ TPR, but I don't recall seeing many people getting them. . .the giant shake place tho, had a line every time). glad to see someone else took time from park to do ZooAmerica, as my TPR group did too. . I also loved it, and have tons of pics to share too when my TR gets to that point. I did skip power surge at Knoebel's tho. . now I wish I had tried it at least.. .but I did get to ride Downdraft. keep up the great TR. . very much enjoying reading it!
  5. Labor Day Sat at SFoT was bat-guano crazy. . but the next day was DEAD. . . .all luck of the draw, I suppose
  6. perfect placement . . but does that mean the destruction of the giant head
  7. OMG. . I love this, and wanna ride it right now! is that a larva riding a hot-dog? I WANNA RIDE this Carousel!
  8. correct. . was asked to remove them while in the train queue up on the station.
  9. during the day, i was asked to put my glasses in zippered pocket on TC. not sure if that's standard or not, but they asked me.
  10. the original is a classic, and I'm sure they kept the "bones" of the story for the remake. SPOILER - I guess. . tho the film has been out for decades. short version: American girl goes to the Black Forest in Germany to attend a famous Ballet School. Odd things happen, and it's revealed the school is run by a coven of witches. Susperia is one of Argento's "3 Mothers" films. . each focusing on a different grand witch (the 3 mothers). Susperia features the Mother of Sighs Inferno features the Mother of Darkness and Mother of Tears features .. the Mother of Tears Wiki has a good write up on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Mothers
  11. Goblin (who still tours with one (or two) of the original members), did soundtracks to several of Dario Argento's most famous horror films. the music is as much of a character in the films. There are several "greatest" hits compilations available, and I highly recommend. -- if you enjoyed the title track from Suspiria, you'll like most of their stuff. . in particular the "Demons" stuff is great too: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] (and here it is live from a few years ago): [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  12. hey AJ, I wore my sunglasses (with strap) on everything except Twisted Cyclone. Scorcher, and Goliath both had rental "you know what's" at the ride entrances tho.. so I wouldn't bother with all day, unless you absolutely WANT to rent one.
  13. not the same as TT's if I'm recalling correctly. . . these are more like joysticks (like the top of a ski pole grip), and they are something you can grab on to on either side close to the "shin-guard" on the restraint. here's a pic from Robb's media report, before they updated the restraints.. they put the "joysticks" close to where the "handle" is, but there are two on each seat.
  14. Rai Fox -- the cave tour looks fantastic, and I had absolutely no idea that was even there! the next time we plan a trip thru Pennsylvania (and we will do that again in the future), we're gonna do multi days at Knoebels and do the cave too! wonderful pics.
  15. Larry. . have you met "people" the odds of correctly spelling Cottage and Knoebels are about the same as spelling out "SteVen"
  16. ^ nope. . nope. . (puts on Goblin and pretends they didn't even attempt this horrible thing they are doing) [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  17. thanks for posting this report! the cottages are *way* nicer than I had been expecting them to be, what a pleasant surprise. I too, would prefer a less-Jesus-y clock. . but I absolutely adore the Gran'ma decor. a perfect fit for the place. How long did you say you stayed there? a full week?
  18. I had an "iHoB" burger on Sat. . and yes, I took a pic of it. LOL. .will post in this thread when I get that off the phone
  19. Oh, I'm sure that's absolutely true too. I *definitely* will be riding SV if/when I make it back to CP in the future. I came in with a disadvantage on my visit because it was the tail end of a 2 week trip, and I was already pretty badly injured before we even got to CP (that's because of MY choice to get on Skyrush, knowing I was still pretty bruised from TT). LOL.. some of my tripmates were giving me crap for not riding SV on the 1st night of ERT - until I showed them a picture of my bruising (I'll share it in my TR when I get to CP), and then - seriously - the person who was giving me the most grief took one look at it, and said: you get a pass, don't ride it. I DID ride it the 2nd night of ERT, just once, and thank goodness rode it with Chase, who had ridden it so many times, he offered to ride it with me and was able to warn me where to brace. . so it wasn't too awful, tho I was only able to ride it once (and skipped Magnum completely on this trip, as i was already having trouble walking). but was able to ride Maverick 6 times during final night ERT. . so anything without the restraints hitting in that spot on my thigh was A-OK (tho bending my leg to get in and out of the Maverick trains that final night was graceful (like a deer with an arrow thru it's head). . but luckily the Station guy didn't make me switch seats every time, so got to ride twice each time I got in the train. . LOL oh, and don't get me wrong. . I am absolutely *not* complaining.. just explaining. If I get the opportunity to travel w/ TPR again, I'll absolutely do it, and make sure to bring my compression wrap for my Quads
  20. I think Celtic Fyre has ended for the season (the theatre was closed last weekend). They use that space for Fiends during Howl-o-Scream, so they're probably setting up for that show. ah, makes sense. It's my favorite show there, tho. . unless you count visiting the Clydesdales. Bruhaus to wait out any rain is my best suggestion then
  21. I really, absolutely, think its' the design of the restraints/trains tho. at least for me. I mean, Magnum has a ton of bucking, and it's never really caused me to get off it hurting. and tho I agree with you on Texas Giant (which I just rode for the 1st time three days ago, and found the 2nd half of the ride to be slow and meandering). . it and iron Rattler have the older version of the restraints (yeah, I realize a different train manufacturer too), but the restraints don't bother me at all.
  22. it's hard to NOT have a good time at BGW. . . but if you get a lot of rain during your day, there's always the following indoor shows as options: -- the British "hits" one in the front section (tho honestly, I didn't think it was great, and didn't bother with it this past visit) -- Celtic Fyre in Ireland, which is very good (especially if you enjoy Irish Step Dancing). and it's right across the walkway from the Irish Pub, with a great selection of on tap options, including a fantastic Blackberry Cider, and frozen Blue Hawaiians. -- the Brewhaus in Germany.. which besides food (and beer) options, has a HUGE seating capacity, and a stage in the middle for "theater in the round".. you can wait out rain there and enjoy the food, drink, and pay attention (or not) to the show... we couldn't figure out the plot, but it was something to look at. . LOL
  23. thanks, Andrew! It was so cool to be so close to it, because it really hauls butt. just zooms by. and Bill. . now be nice these two ladies were wonderful, and I enjoyed chatting with them during our backstage tour!
  24. I liked Riddler, but since I rode it the first time just after Skyscreamer, it didn't seem that high. But I LOVED Harley (riding on the outermost seat, it feels like you're gonna hit the beams as it twirls. . going Single Rider line is the way to go. . ended up in outermost seats on both of my Sunday rides). and I think I liked Catwoman slightly better too. and FINALLY after 9 years, got to get a ride on Mr. Freeze (it broke down while I was in line for it Sat, but waited it out, and got a back seat ride). it broke down while i was in line for it on Sunday too. .but they cleared the line in that case and wouldn't let us wait it out, so went to Batman instead. and by the way, Wendi. . thank you SO much for your help while we were in Arlington. TPR folks really are the best
  25. as promised the other day, here are the pics from our "Behind the Scenes" Intimidator 305 tour at Kings Dominion Wish I could recall the 2nd lady's name who was with us as park reps (tho the Maintenance guys were the ones leading the tour). I can see Danielle's name tag on the right, but cannot recall the lady on the left! Hopefully Robb, or someone who was with us recalls. . I really owe them for the recommendation of Orange train near the front for Grizzly -- it really was a tip that worked out! thru the magic gate into the backstage area looking up at Anaconda's lift hill Anaconda . artsy photo but here's the star! we get pretty close, actually! turning back around to Anaconda LOL. . was taking pic of Drop Tower going up, I think part of Racer 75 thru the trees artsy I305 pic Racer 75's turn around, both trains are there, but can only see right side and there's left zoom zoom Racer 75, and I305's leg whee! shot thru the trees while walking around the coaster ?? and Danielle on far side of the ride, looking back towards park oh Volcano. . .why must you tease us. the exiting magic gate, to lead us back into the general park population but not before turning around to get a few more pics!
