  1. Roughest coasters I've ridden. Wood: Son of Beast (KI) Gwazi (BGT) Wildcat (HP) Georgia Cyclone (SFOG) Voyage (Holiday World)-This one's hard for me to admit since it's still my favorite wood coaster, but I can't deny it. Steel: NYNY Roller Coaster (Las Vegas) Ninja (SFOG) Desperado (Buffalo Bills)
  2. Haha the rest of the park looks completely dead!!
  3. No big loss here. I've had some pretty fun rides and some pretty painful rides on Giraffica. By painful, I mean sitting in the back, hitting the splash pool, and the whole backside of the boat lurched in the air and came down with a hard thud that went right through my spine. Man that hurt. It was a cool concept, but that space can be utilized for something much better. Holiday World's first major steel coaster perhaps?
  4. Wow! Banshee and Action Zone look great! It's great to hear all the positive feedback for the ride! I can't wait to head up there in a few weeks!
  5. Those photos are gorgeous! I especially loved your shots of Incredible Hulk, but then again it is my favorite B&M aesthetically haha.
  6. Going off topic a little bit here, but the tent structure appears to be complete.
  7. Pleasant surprise for me: GhostRider Yes, as crazy as it sounds, I really enjoyed my one ride on this infamous woodie last year. I was even in the very back seat and trust me. I was prepared for the worst, but what I got was a decent mid-sized woodie with some good airtime here and there and an overall nice ride. Any roughness somehow went unnoticed with me. Either that, or I must have a back of steel haha. Of course, coming to a dead stop on the MCBR was a sad reminder of what the ride used to be, but then again, maybe the slower speed helped with the roughness. I must have caught it on a really good day.
  8. Just caught The Bat in action! Check out those new train colors!
  9. I've never had a big problem with B&M's new designs. I like them all, old and new. I really like the feeling of flying, and that is something that Banshee appears to do really well. Going away from Banshee for a minute, I found this cool picture from Greg Scheid's Twitter. According to him, this is a new patio area near the back door of the FestHaus. Looks pretty nice to me!
  10. Just like Ninja, GA Cyclone's best spot is the first row of the last car. You get all the awesome airtime with minimal roughness.
  11. This thing looks absolutely insane. Yet another park to add to my list of European parks to visit.
  12. From Greg Scheid's Twitter "Walkway into the queue being poured this morning. No sign of Eve (our Banshee) yet. #KIBanshee" We have a name for the Banshee! The entrance sign says "Haunted Hill" (At first I thought it said Haunted Hell haha.)
  13. ^Glad to hear you enjoyed the park! It is definitely one of the best parks in the chain. Of course, I grew up going there, so it will always be special to me. If you didn't catch Monster Mansion on your visit, make sure you hit it next time! It is the park's true hidden gem: one of the quirkiest dark rides around! I have a feeling the long wait to get in the park was partly because of the new season pass system being a finger-print scanner and all.
  14. I WAS planning on visiting the Dells for the first time this summer, but now I think I'll just stay at Six Flags Great America. Seriously, though, the fact that it was the park's fault is really scary. Whoever is on maintenance management should be fired. Heck, the WHOLE PARK probably needs new management! At least Mt. Olympus has the sense to take Opa out.
  15. The Beast may not be the best coaster in the park, but it is my personal favorite. There is SO much history in the ride. The significance it has in the industry is huge since it shattered all records of the time for height, speed, most importantly, length. Every time I ride it, I can feel the almost special quality the ride has since it is so unique. Now that being said, I do have a few gripes. The train's seat dividers kill my shoulders, and the only trim brake that bothers me is the covered brake section since it builds so much speed then loses it in about 20 feet of track. I would've put that brakes much farther up the track and spread them out so the speed reduction isn't as abrupt. When it comes to updating The Beast, I feel like you could change things up a bit, but only if they kept to the spirit of the original.
  16. If you can't help but perk up whenever you hear somebody use the phrase "life's been a roller coaster," or "it's been an emotional roller coaster" etc.
  17. ^I'm pretty sure it does get pretty low to the ground in that spot, give or take a few feet.
  18. I agree 110%. Kings Island got screwed out of their 40th. A new wave pool and yet another water park rebranding seems lame compared to what KD is doing. BTW, the singing mushrooms look great and sound awesome. They have a chance to redeem themselves on their 45th, which will be 2017. Also, seeing the new red white and blue paint on Rebel Yell makes me so happy!! Kings Island, pay attention!! The Racer needs help!
  19. Looking good! I dig the grave stones!
  20. BIG update! I've added some trees around the areas of Voyage that are completely finished. Overview of Legend Here's the "rip-you-from-your-seat" double helix. Here's part of the finale. Legend was probably the most fun of the three coasters to build. Now let's head over to Raven. Lift hill and first drop. Yes, I know this turn should be over water. This turn is above sea level, and I don't know how to raise the water level for this particular spot if there is a way. If anyone wants to chime in and help me here, I would greatly appreciate it. Finally, the most frustrating of the three. (You can see at the 3rd 90 degree turn where I haven't done supports yet.) Building Voyage has been the first time I REALLY got to put all of NL2's fabulous new tools to the test, and boy do they help!! It probably would've taken me twice as long to try and build a coaster like this in NL1. Not to mention that Voyage is HUGE, and would not have fit properly in the NL1 building space. Here you can see some of my support work. The new beam node absolutely saved me a TON of work here. Man, these new graphics are beautiful! Trick track! That's all for now. I'm working on the supports in the spaghetti bowl right now. I can't decide whether I want to build custom stations or not. I'm not very good with 3d modelling, so I try to build everything within NL2. I'm really happy with how everything is turning out, though!
  21. It doesn't necessarily have to be "halloween" themed. It could be just a general spooky theme. I could see the area being called something like "the cemetery" or "haunted grounds" or something along those lines.
  22. Hello, everybody! I'd like to announce my current big project I'm working on in NoLimits 2. I've always been a big fan of Holiday World's wood coasters, so I decided to build all of them for all of you to enjoy! I started this project around early February, and I've been putting it off a lot because of school, but here's the progress so far. The Raven and The Legend were fairly easy to build. Lots of straight track and uniform turns. I think it took me around one to two weeks to finish each coaster, so those two rides are done. Then I got to The Voyage, which is a beautifully modern design that basically has no stretch of straight track on it minus the lift and the MCBR. The track alone took me around three weeks to build. I had to rebuild the spaghetti bowl a couple of times as it was REALLY tricky to get right. I thank the NL developers so much for the de-pumping tool! Anyways, I've been having to manually delete the wood beams in the structure and use the remaining nodes to add the steel lattice structure, and I'm building the wide supports completely from scratch. This is where I stand now. The project has really tested my patience, but I'm slowly getting there. Here are a few teaser shots. Raven looking good. Legend also looking good. Here's Voyage before I started the support work. And here's where my progress stands currently. Finally, here's a beauty shot.
  23. It will be really refreshing to ride a coaster that purely simplistic in its design. No gimmicks, no big marketing ploys, no big stand-out elements. Just a quintessential modern roller coaster that has a good variety of elements that all string together to make a good, fun thrill ride. That to me is the best part of Lightning Run, at least on paper. It's coasters like this that I love to ride again and again, and I'm really looking forward to this one.
