  1. 57 inches max height, that can't be right. That is almost 4 foot 8. That doesn't make sense either.
  2. Boy does that look gorgeous. Very similar.
  3. ^Pressed the Like Button. http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbnid=6KuPRPjYi6QVkM:&imgrefurl=http://keystonethrills.megabb.com/t157p900-attraction-2012-rumor-and-news-discussion&docid=oA20yKpa0hVtiM&imgurl=http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/pimages/Kings_Dominion/Intimidator305/42.jpg&w=800&h=600&ei=2HjpTujTKOrM2AWp0qThCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=564&vpy=261&dur=3101&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=184&ty=89&sig=107066123316645215893&page=2&tbnh=134&tbnw=179&start=16&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:16 Gimme a break that looks extremely similar.
  4. I mean seriously, I don't understand why everyone is getting so defensive. I am very excited to ride Skyrush this summer, I just don't understand the whole defensive aspect on the part of the fanboys.
  5. Exactly! I just don't understand why people are getting so defensive about the ride being very similar to I305. I don't get my panties in a knot when someone says Mamba is very similar to Steel Force.
  6. Not to mention "twisty!" then random hill and twisty some more.
  7. Go Pitt! I'm dying to see more of the ride be built. I may have to swing by there when I drive cross state next week.
  8. That is like comparing apples and oranges, lordy. What are you 14? Jeez. Not when the place the cable breaks is oh, 200ft BELOW me. And another hundred feet or more from any foot traffic. There is no safety concerns from a cable lift breaking. Only concerns are on cable LAUNCHes as seen with the snaps where the people got shards. But thats a completely different type of break. MF is only going 22mph. Not 122. What about the people on the ground, the people on the CP+LE Railroad? I mean it is not enough to let me say no I am not going to ride, because MF is my favorite ride, but you don't see these sort of questionable safety issues on the B&M rides. There has not been a single safety risking malfunction on a B&M that I know about.
  9. Oh brother, can't you just say that I305 and Skyrush are similar? I mean it is basically like comparing Steel Force and Mamba plus 100 feet for I305. Can't you at least say that Skyrush is I305 inspired? They likely started designing Skyrush right after I305. The ride is very similar.
  10. Kennywood Jack Rabbit, hands down!
  11. The boomerang is a simple but effective design. The problem was with the headbanging but this has been fixed with the excellent new comfortable trains. I could ride the new trains on Sidewinder all day. Storm Runner and Maverick could use comfy trains like this, I think it would greatly improve the ride experiences. Those OTSRs are hard on the neck and shoulders and Intamin should take some notes with this new type of restraint (not sure how the new restraints on I305 have changed the experience). I was always a fan of the boomerangs, even more so with these new trains. The SLCs are a different story. I would be curious to see how the new style trains have improved the ride experience.
  12. I'd imagine you would get a decent view from that area behind in the actual town area.
  13. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Backseat%20Moderator I am pointing out differences in how there have really been no ride related safety issues in the B&Ms in large part due to their usage of decent lift chain systems as opposed to cable driven systems.
  14. You don't see any potential risk in flying high tension cables and shards of metal?
  15. Fahrenheit also has 8 or so more years of engineering evolution in it than MF. I'm all good with the chain lift, you don't have to worry about catastrophic mechanical failures like you do with the cables. Pretty much any model involving a cable with Intamin has had some sort of instance of catastrophic mechanical failure that could have possibly risked the safety of the guests. Examples, cable driven launched coasters, TTD, Kingdaka, Xcellerator (I am sure some incidents are missing here). Cable lifts, MF's cable has broken twice, possibly risking the safety of the riders. Drop towers with the the Kentucky Kingdom incident. In addition to the safety factor, the issue regarding reliability with Intamin coasters comes up as well. I am challenged to think of a mechanical failure on a B&M coaster that has resulted in major injury or death, any ideas?
  16. No more floods at Knoebel's!
  17. I think Grizzly east and Hurler aren't really rough.
  18. I'd bet liability was an issue. It is sad I always had a blast on the one that used to be at Dutch Wonderland.
  19. No Aqautrax! The Coal Cracker hydroflume is a great ride and a classic. Cannot endanger that.
  20. Didn't Zorin already destroy Silicon Valley? I don't think Great America will have a problem with those microchip manufacturers anymore.
  21. Yeah the one at Hershey though is definitely smaller than the one at Dutch Wonderland or the one in this photo. These look like the new mat racers. There had to be a bunch of these style because both Cedar Point and Dutch Wonderland had them. Some of my favorite memories early in life were riding that giant slide at Dutch Wonderland. Yuck it looks like the replaced the one at Dutch Wonderland with a 3 lane smaller slide. The original looked like this http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbnid=LNfZ9Qb1gZ9zSM:&imgrefurl=http://janeqb.tripod.com/our_family_photos/index.album/with-the-dw-gang%3Fi%3D1%26s%3D&docid=QX2G56nj-qKV2M&itg=1&imgurl=http://janeqb.tripod.com/our_family_photos/slide.jpg&w=714&h=800&ei=-HnfTpbKJanX0QHcusXIBw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=301&vpy=133&dur=643&hovh=238&hovw=212&tx=91&ty=139&sig=107066123316645215893&page=1&tbnh=146&tbnw=130&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0 . Probably about 6 lanes and huge. Good times.
  22. I always enjoyed the Tunnel on Steel Force. I feel like it adds to the intensity of the drop hearing the train roar through the tunnel. Plus it hides the sensation of blacking out, good for the GP .
  23. I saw this on the Cedar Point facebook page posted and wondered about these giant slides. The only one I have ever seen and rode is the one at Dutch Wonderland. Where else do these still exist? Does anyone know who the manufacturer was?
  24. They should tunnel the bottom of the drop, that would be intense.
  25. This is beautiful! I'll definitely be going!
