  1. Bahahaha... that's what RMC should name the better/longer inverted drop element that I'm hoping for! It will be the Apple turnover!
  2. It would be cool if the inverted drop held you inverted longer down the drop... hence hangtime?
  3. Might want to try signing up for the SFMM newsletter. I get the SFNE, SFGAM, SFGADV newsletters and the ones I received yesterday had a special link for daily tickets SUMMER SALE for the next couple days bought at least 1 day in advance for pretty cheap ($34-44 depending on the park) also had flashpass discounts among other things. Might be too late now if you sign up today, I don't know. I guess I need to look at the newsletters more often. Sorry I don't get a SFMM one so I can't provide the link... provided they are even running the same deal. Edit: I stand corrected I guess you don't need a special email link... the home page for all the parks i checked have it... except SFMM...
  4. Early ride times on Sundays only... during the week I've never heard of. Maybe there was a large group there and they opened up early? No clue.
  5. At SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, at the time when I worked there, the Re-ride policy was one re-ride allowed, then go back around. Had nothing to do with counts (Manta and Kraken the controls person did counts on each exiting train... no turnstiles... and Gwazi had a turnstile but didn't seem to care that much about super accurate numbers w/ re-rides). Some nonsense about people getting sick / possible problems with the forces of the ride repeatedly acting on the rider and to give the body a 'break'. I don't remember the exact wording. Seems silly but that's what it said in the SOPs at the time. Not sure if the policy is still the same.
  6. ^ lmao. so apparently the "Raven Nut Tingle" is actually a thing and I don't need to see a doctor after all... all 9 rides, different seats... sorry for being so detailed lol!! No other ride have I experienced this. Now let's move on and never speak of this again.
  7. Robb is absolutely on point about Potter. I never saw any of the movies or read any of the books either, and I pretty much feel the same way. The technology on Forbidden Journey is awesome!! But... the story means absolutely nothing to me. Except to watch out for that damn tree (err... Whomping Willow..) that's about to smack you in the face. Why are we here, again? Oh, and now we're flying. Oh and here are some spiders. Oh and now we're playing some game on a broom. Now we're watching out for a dragon. Hey, who is this guy? Etc. I get why a Potter fan would enjoy it, but... eh. Not for me.
  8. Great report, and thanks for the laughs... though I would have to STRONGLY disagree on your opinion of Raven for sure. Like most gravity group coasters, let that baby warm up throughout the day and you'll be flying in the evening. I rode it about 9 times in a row in various seats during HWN...and while my nuts got a weird uncomfortable tingle at one point in the ride (wut?) the night rides were super intense but not rough. I love seeing all the fireflies flying by as you wizz through the woods at night. Nothing like it. 8)
  9. Nope, you can renew a platinum from any park to any park... HOWEVER... you are then 'locked' into that park for any extras you buy online for that season. For example, if you want the drink pass, or the funpix pass, you must purchase it from the park you renewed your pass at. So the last two years I had a Canada's Wonderland pass (because they charge the same price in CAD as USD for platinum!) but at the end of last season I renewed as a Cedar Point pass (wanted the free fast lane perk for Cedar Point) and even though it has Wonderland plastered all over the pass, it is actually a Cedar Point pass. The funpix and drink pass were cheaper at Wonderland, but the card is now a Cedar Point pass and I needed to buy extras at the Cedar Point prices. Next year I'll switch back to Wonderland, because I'm sure it will save me a lot of money in the long run (especially with all the new fanciness going in at CP). There was no need to go to the park you renewed at first to process, as both renewals allowed you to add a photo online and you just used your old card. So even though I now had a Cedar Point pass, I still visited Wonderland first as there was nothing to process. Make sense?
  10. Interesting, you're right. The price goes down when you add it to cart and then the tax brings it up to that price: I can't recall them charging tax INSIDE the park, though, from the advertised price... they are definitely charging it online though -- in addition to the rate posted. None of the other Cedar Fair parks charge tax on the advertised price for FastLane as far as I'm aware, like they are at Wonderland. I have bought it both online and at the park and no tax was charged at Cedar Point. Can't say for sure about the other parks in the chain. Then again, it's Canada we're talking about Good catch.
  11. All-season fast lane is back up for sale... for $199. I believe it was significantly less at the beginning of the season when it first came out ($129? $149? I can't remember.) but now is your chance to pick it up again if you missed out before...
  12. B&M rattle is out... B&M bounce is in! Please don't make this a thing. If it doesn't affect the enjoyability of the ride does it need to be brought up? *shrug*
  13. Magic Mountain offers an all season gold flash pass for $499 USD; at least they are open the entire year, and they charge more for their flash pass on a single given day ($70-$90), so it makes more sense. But I still don't understand the logic for Wonderland especially this late in the season. I'm curious how many they will end up selling.
  14. I think the problem is that they only charge $69 (CAD) for FL+ on the busiest days, and only $50 on the less crowded days, so for it to be worth it you need to visit a **LOT**. Especially for only half a season with no Haunt. For Cedar point they charge over $100 for single day FL+ during the crowded season and that pricing would make more sense. Just crazy pricing IMO. I would say 4x-5x the single day Fast Lane on the busiest tier would make sense (so $349 Canadian). For the smaller parks they didn't charge 8x the cost of a single Fast Lane to break even. I doubt they will sell many. And the people who do buy it probably don't realize they need to visit at least 8 times for it to be cost effective.
  15. ^ I like this theory. It also goes along with the tire marks. Sorry, I just don't see a single rail RMC going here. A ride similar to sky rocket would be a perfect fit... knowing the limited knowledge I have about this park...
  16. I've used it at 3 parks so far this year. Straight from the official Valleyfair website: Edit: Did you already purchase the pass and attach it to the card? You have to BUY it from the park your pass is from. Granted you can do that online and put in your barcode. You wouldn't be able to purchase it from a different park. Does that make sense? I would contact them again and tell them the hassle you went through. That way both parks can get the proper training. They are usually good at making things right for your time, too. We had a little snafu the first or second weekend at one park, only one time, they claimed we had the bottle not the pass but went to guest relations and confirmed we didn't have the bottle on file and they messed up. But other than that we've had no issues.
  17. Great report / photos! Tend not to hear much about the animal stuff at SFDK and interested to see how Six Flags 'does' animals and animal shows, compared to say SeaWorld. I'll be visiting in a few short months!
  18. Ridiculous. I've never been on Lake Compounce's chair lift (closed for Halloween) but the whole situation is stupid to me. If they are worried of something possibly happening wouldn't they have to close all their rides? People have died on river raft rides, scramblers, etc. you wouldn't want that kind of publicity either. -- I hope they would reconsider after things calm down a bit. These rides have been operating for how long and just now they are an issue?
  19. I was going to comment back with something obnoxious about how we got a beer that wasn't complete sh*t, but I can't make fun of you for drinking Angry Orchard when this same report has a picture of us with juice boxes. lol... love the juicebox photo. The expression on your face... Anyway, awesome report, Boldikus! Glad you had an awesome time. No shame in Angry Orchard, that's what I would be drinking too. 8)
  20. It could still be called Red Baron without the Snoopy theme. -- And if it was Six Flags it would be presented by Red Baron pizza. Has Cedar Fair ever had a ride sponsored by a product? Out of curiosity.
  21. Awesome report! You need to bring back the blue filter, though -- your reaction to Wicked Cyclone was exactly like mine (my first RMC as well) and I am looking forward to Supes now that it's not running sluggish like it has been the last few years. Keep it up! Just made plans to visit next month and this makes me more excited. 8)
  22. You can figure out which tier a park is in by counting the number of tears shed in each park thread when rides are announced each year...
  23. Not to be a Debbie Downer, just an FYI. I know you probably didn't take the footage personally, but whomever did shouldn't have done it. This was clearly taken from above the park, not just the perimeter. So unless the park released it...
