  1. And Cedar Point it! GCI isn't known for super sizing coasters. Renegade is my favorite at Valleyfair, it's easily better than Mean Streak.
  2. I was surprised to see nobody discussing that tweet today.
  3. Same. Some of the scores have really shocked me, most were mentioned above. Edit - I actually prefer GateKeeper over Raptor slightly,. I know I'm in the minority on that one.
  4. That core will make the team title contenders right away. The only problem is defense. LBJ was terrible last year, but has shown the ability to lock down players when he wants. Kyrie was also pretty bad, and Love as well. Love is especially bad at help defense. That being said, the T-Wolves had a much better + - ratio with Love on the floor than without. The team will need growth from their young players to beat the powerhouses in the West, but I think they would instantly be favorites in the East (depending on Chicago). Especially after adding a sharp shooter to come off the bench (Mike Miller anyone?) ... on topic, I can't wait for the August announcements this year.
  5. The GM said a thrill ride for teens. Some employees have heard rumors about Mantis being turned into a floorless, and I'm almost positive a water park expansion is in the works for them as well. Are there any Thrill Rides that Cedar Point doesn't have? All I can think of is a Top Spin. Maybe a Huss Giant Jump? Your guess is as good as mine as to what they get... They certainly have a solid list of top tier flat rides; Power Tower, MaXair, Skyhawk, Windseeker... but there's a lot of neat attractions out there. Can't wait for August.

  7. I don't know what you know but I know now what you think you know ... and I hope you're right.
  8. Wild Thing cost 14 million. Talon 13 million. The park your basing your hypothesis on is about to spend 30 million on a coaster. If I were dreaming, I'd dream Intamin.
  9. You think a small B&M is expecting too much? I will respectfully disagree. A 15-20 million dollar coaster is not unrealistic, especially with the park spending very little in the 'off' years attractions wise. Cedar Fair is financially in a different place than when they bought Carowinds. Something along the lines of Talon could easily happen. If that's too expensive, I hope Valleyfair looks at Premier rides. This is all at least a couple years off anyways, so I'm not too worried about it. I actually haven't even visited Valleyfair this season
  10. Based on all I've heard, it sounds like a done deal. Carowinds has grown a lot since Cedar Fair took over, so I do think they are large enough for one. I believe it's actually $30 million and not $50 million, but $30 million should still get them a really awesome coaster. While VF could be in for something awesome in a few years, I doubt that VF would receive a giga coaster because I just don't feel that CF would invest that much money in VF, and also, they can't build that high due to Flying Cloud Airport. A decent sized B&M invert, or maybe a floorless coaster would go over pretty well in my opinion. The total investment over 2 years is 50 million, including the coaster, a water slide, and a few other things. That height restriction isn't for the entire park, so a Giga coaster could happen, at least in theory.
  11. The park has been doing really well over the last few years, I don't think the renovation of the Gemini midway means they were expecting an "off year". With the weather, Dragster being down for a while, and the whole water fiasco - there are certainly some valid excuses as to why attendence has slipped some this year. You're right, I doubt they're is much concern, if any.
  12. I've heard that rumor for years, hopefully it finally happens. Next year, visit Cedar Point with the new Mantis and new Mean Streak! Anyone else think Cedar Point is having a down year attendance wise?
  13. That's expected but I hope they don't go that route. Cedar Point can do better... Guessing this is for a new haunt.
  14. I enjoyed Dragster H20, and I'm excited about a new slide complex... Personally, I've never been on any Tornado Proslides, or any slides where the floor drops out from under you... Something along those lines are on my wish list.
  15. The thing with water slides / parks, even the bad ones are pretty fun. As someone that has never been to a good water park, I really hope Valleyfair goes all out next year.
  16. Space Spiral needed to go but even with the scratchy windows and lack of AC, it was something I had to ride once per visit. Intamin has some beautiful tower rides that would be perfect for Cedar Point.
  17. Wicked Twister was posted as an hour wait, plus we were just on a tight schedule. But thanks! Maverick ten minutes, Wicked Twister an hour...
  18. They definitely will. All the new slide complex that Cedar Fair have put in recently are very colorful.
  19. So, just because they haven't bought an Intamin coaster in the last few years, they will never buy a coaster from Intamin again? Nope... But there have been rumors that the Intaride rep and Cedar Fair management aren't on the best of terms, and haven't been for quite some time. Hopefully this isn't true, as Intamin has and will continue to make some of the greatest coasters out there. Cedar Point, especially, could use a beastly new Intamin beauty to seperate them from the Magic Mountain and Great Adventures of the world.
  20. shaka brah Love what they have done to the place since taking over.
  21. Sounds like you had a great time! Not sure how you missed Wicked Twister as it rarely has much of a wait. Dragster is one of the big 3. You need to ride that beast!! Thrillseeker - you have three days mid week, even in July you'll get plenty of rides in, especially with Fast Lane.
  22. ^^ By the time that happens Cedar Point will have added a brand new shiny epic coaster of some kind.
  23. Can't see where this goes. Haven't been excited about an addition to the park since the swing!
  24. Some unexpected expenses came up and now I won't be able to squeeze in my annual trip to the point. This has me thinking about the future. Wonder what Cedar Point (and Valleyfair) have up their sleeves for next year.
  25. Feel free to post any and all of the other changes, we promise not to complain about the length of your post!
