  1. That's too bad about the Geebras causing trouble although I'm not surprised since the herd looked very large in your photos. A smaller group of 3-4 would be more appropriate. Hope the folks at AK can get it sorted!
  2. Loving the latest Animal Kingdom installments! AK is my fav. Disney park. When I was there about 5 years ago I spent 2 whole days there riding the Safari and Everest! The Safari is so much fun, I am an animal lover and each ride was so different with the animals walking around. I just couldn't get enough of it! We got really close to the giraffes on one of the rides and also had ostriches and some sort of oxen blocking the road. The new zebras are really great and look to be a nice addition to the experience. Looking forward to riding it again in the future and hearing the new spiel as well - I never cared for the Red/poacher storyline.
  3. Chuck, could you describe how Nemesis compares to Alpengeist at BGW or Great Bear at HP? I've never ridden it but have taken numerous spins on Alpengeist and Great Bear. Alpengeist is very strong and quick and I enjoy it up until the mid-brake but then the zippy twists get to me and I have to spend the next 2 hours on a bench in the shade sipping a frozen lemonade. I cannot ride it more than once a day, and the past few years I haven't ridden it at all. Great Bear I can ride several times without getting sick and I don't leave feeling like my head just got jack hammered. Just wondering how Nemesis relates to them. Thanks for the insight!
  4. Pizza for brunch? Sign me up!! Seriously, everything looked DELICIOUS at Palo this time around. I remember your other TR when you went there for dinner and the pictures didn't even look that great so I'm sure the food was so-so. Of course, I'm reading this right before bed and now am craving the most delicious pizza and chocolates and mickey bars and so on I have cruised twice before: once on Radisson Seven Seas, which is now called Regent, and once on Princess. Radisson was outstanding and by far the most amazing experience of my life. Everything was included in the price of the cruise and catered to individual needs. Definitely a once in a lifetime trip! Princess was quite different, it was OK but the food overall was not great. I'm not a super picky eater but nothing was fresh and it just was sort of bland. The Disney cruise food certainly seems a lot better. Now for my question: Do you have to pay per meal on Disney? If so, is there a cost difference when you eat at Animator's Pal. vs. Enchanted Garden? When you order 2 appetizers, are you charged for both? Or are all meals included in the cost of the cruise (minus upcharges like Palo) and you only have to pay extra for specialty drinks? I'm just curious how that works.
  5. Loving the short Vine video clips inserted into the boards! Robb, that clip of GateKeeper visibly slowing down was wild! I never would have considered that the wind may play a part in things but I guess CP is right on the water so it makes sense. I would much rather have a vest restraint constrict a little bit during the ride than potentially have my head slammed into an old school OTSR during a corkscrew, which hurts like hell and causes a massive headache for the rest of the day.
  6. Stunning photos! They are exquisite and I really love the use of light to highlight parts of track, trains, etc. You definitely have an eye for this kind of stuff. The shots of the train going through the twists makes them look sort of Transformer-futuristic in a way. Thanks for posting, really enjoyed!
  7. Thanks for the easy to read summary of your recent visit to the park. I am super relieved and excited to hear about the l0cker codes being personalized! I may or may not have had a momentary breakdown during a crowded 100+ deg Saturday in July last year after our l0cker code receipt got soaking wet and disintegrated after a ride on the log flume. Heat does funny things to people sometimes haha. I got myself composed and an attendant helped us retrieve our belongings. Crisis averted!
  8. Great report, I knew BGW had a half day tour but didn't know they had an 8 hour one as well. The LS deal sounds really neat and I would definitely like to buy a couple tickets for this. Would you be able to PM me a link?
  9. Some of the pictures in these recent updates are top notch! Especially the one of the lifeguard chair and through the brown palm tree. I can't believe the last picture is of Claire in the pirate costume from years ago - she is so grown up now! She sure knows how to strike a pose, guess she learned it young. As you know, I've been a fan of your TRs and check weekly for updates. I've been looking in the forum and haven't seen anything since the beginning of March and this weekend became really concerned that maybe something happened to you. A week or two between updates is normal, but over a month? No way. Well evidently I totally missed your updates and imagine my surprise when I figured out last night I had 2 full pages to catch up on, LOL! I should probably see about subscribing for updates so that doesn't happen again. Thought you'd get a chuckle out of that!
  10. Wow, this looks amazing! Very, very cool effects. Can someone explain a bit more about the trackless system? I've never been on one. About half way through the video 2 other ride vehicles (one in front and one behind) are seen. Is the ride dispatched in groups - say, 3 cars to a group, and you all view the same show approx 2 seconds behind one another? Or how is it done?
  11. Weekdays would be a bit tougher for me to schedule but with Robb's fantastic advanced notice, changes in work shifts could be made. The day after a bash event I am completely dead and can barely function at all so if a bash were to happen it would be better if it were on a Friday when I could have the weekend to recover. Not sure about everyone else but between the intense heat and insane jam-packed day of fun activities I need as much rest as possible afterwards! Looking forward to seeing what TPR has coming up
  12. Yowza, that train really flies over the track!! Very cool footage and photos, thanks Robb for posting them. Looks like a really fun ride!
  13. Haven't been down to FL to ride it so I'm curious: does Sheikra almost come to a complete stop at the midbrake the way Griffon does? That really kills it for me.
  14. I haven't kept up with the Gatekeeper build but these recent pics look really great! I love the look of the trains, the lights are a nice touch and I LOVE the restraints. I rode in them on Sidewinder at Hersheypark last year and they were very comfy.
  15. Williamsburg is a lot of fun! Lots of different historical places, Busch Gardens, Great Wolf Lodge, outlet shops, etc. We always visit Sno-2-Go which is a fun little snowcone stand. Definitely take notes and post a TR!
  16. Sad to see your trip come to an end but it looked like a really fun time! I love all the photos (although sometimes my computer takes ages to load them all) and your detailed captions are always funny and/or interesting. What trips are in the works for 2013??
  17. Cool pics, looks like a lot of fun in 2 short days. It was in March, right? What was the weather like? How does Formula Rossa's launch compare to Storm Runner's launch? I was wondering recently if there had been a Photo TR posted yet of the Dubai trip from last year! Maybe after Robb gets back from Mexico? (Hint hint!)
  18. Beautiful park and very cool photos! Is it correct to assume that the funicular show is something related to 20,000 Leagues?
  19. Continuing to follow along and enjoy reading about your travels. The ruins are neat to see and the iguanas looked intimidating!
  20. Very cool pictures, the very last one of the castle at nighttime is just beautiful! Elissa, is Splash Mountain at TDS a clone of the one in Orlando?
  21. What a surprise, that is a great view from your balcony! Do you happen to know what the approximate price difference is between a standard room and a comparable one with an "actual" view?
  22. Interesting tour, I wonder how big the Snoopy fountain will be. Do you happen to know what they do with the dinosaurs from Dinosaurs Alive for the winter? I know they all have skins that easily come off but I imagine dismantling the cables/hydraulic things that control the dinos would be a lot of work and they couldn't be left outside all winter. Some of those dinos were enormous and in my head they're all sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Just curious!
  23. I've never stayed at AKL but have always wanted to, so I am really enjoying your photos of the place! I'm dying to know, once you got back home did Claire approve of the water slide photos you took of her? Or was she over it by then and forgot about them?
  24. A hair dryer?! Interesting! Looks kind of like a jetpack thing. Thanks for the details.
  25. I have stalked all your past trip reports and finally decided I need to start commenting because I really enjoy your updates! I love the photos and abundance of details. What in the world is in the picture of the bathroom in your room on the left hand side of the sink? It looks like a white vacuum hose thing on the wall.
