  1. Moar pictures! Kirnu tries to hide itself behinde the ticket sales and fails at it. Over there is the reason why we didn't ride Kieppi or Kieputin. Once that started to rain down on us, Kieppi looked more like a washing machine than Huss Booster of Death! Kehrä THROUGH THE TREES! It wasn't until this point I realised how funky that entrance looks from up here. When my friends rode the ROCKET, I decided to take some pictures while they were having fun being blasted 60 m up in the air. Anyway here is Kirnu yet again! "That's ROCKET!" "No Luigi, that's Ukko. You didn't make it." Am I trying to emphasize something here or what? What does "ruutivarasto" hold, gunpowder or rum? You decide! Ukko, Vuoristorata and ROCKET in the same picture. I have the weirdest boner right now. "LUDICOUS SPEED, GO! ...STOP THIS THING!" "WE CAN'T STOP! IT'S TOO DANGEROUS! WE HAVE TO SLOW DOWN FIRST!" "I ORDER YOU TO STOOOOOOOP!" And with that painful Spaceballs reference I conclude this TR. Hope you guys enjoyed it! If you have anything to say about the park or this TR, please tell your opinion!
  2. Hi everyone! I am here once again bringing you guys some more pictures from Finnish theme parks, this time from Linnanmäki! Me and couple of my friends decided to celebrate the incoming summer vacation by spending the last schooldays afternoon in Linnanmäki. Since we arrived there afternoon, the lines really weren't that long and we managed to get a couple of rides in Salama, Kirnu, Vuoristorata and Linnunrata. Speaking of coasters... Salama: Really fun spinning coaster but not really long and thrilling with the exception being the second drop. Tulireki: Still the worst coaster in the park. It has a good concept with the tilting car, but it really doesn't do anything with it. Not to mention it is very short and uncomfortable to ride. We skipped Vonkaputous, so yeah... Kirnu: Brilliant. Since it it the prototype version of the ZacSpin, it is not quite as intense like its cousin Insane in Gröna Lund, but it is still very fun ride with many OMFG moments. Vuoristorata Nostalgia boner. One of my all-time favorite coasters with Särkänniemi's Tornado. One of the longest coasters you will find in Finland and also one of the only coasters in Finland that has any sort of airtime in it! Ukko: The most intense coaster in Finland bar none. Even though X-car really isn't all that comfortable, speed, height and g-forces certainly make up for it. Linnunrata: Last but not the least, Linnunrata is an alright family coaster. Not much to say about it really. But enough of my rambling, LET'S. GET. MOVING! ...to the pictures! What a way to start my report by showing a pointless kiddie ride! Hurjakuru and Pikajuna. How exciting. Themeing for Salama. Now I know why everybody in this forum thinks of food everytime somone mentions this coaster, even though Salama means "Lightning"... Ball. That sprays water and shoots fire. NERDSHOT Skulls? In my Hurjakuru? This ride has some BALLS (no pun intended)! See? I guess this is where all staff sleeps after work. Ferris wheel. You can get some darn good pictures from it as you will see later in this TR. BURN, BURN, BURN TO THE GROUND! This park also had some very aggressive birds. I guess this is where Rovio got their idea for Angry Birds! More pictures coming after brake!
  3. Uhh... Tornado was my first Intamin-coaster I rode and I haven't rode any B&M coasters yet. And I wouldn't say Jet Star is really bad, it's just that turn after the first drop that whacks my skull.
  4. So this is my very first TR at Särkänniemi. I was excited to ride Half-Pipe and Tornado for the first time, and they both were really great coasters, especially Tornado, which now ranks as my number 1 coaster in Finland. Anyhoo, enjoy the pictures! Here we are at Särkänniemi, Tampere, Finland! Up the tower we go! This was my first Half-Pipe coaster, and it was awesome! Scary, but awesome! Koskiseikkailu was a fun rapids ride as always, but you don't get really wet in this. You can pretty much see the whole park from Näsinneula Observation Tower. The Finnish army is occupying Särkänniemi! Run away! If you look closely to that coaster, you will see people screaming in pain. We didn't ride Motogee this time due to absurdly long lines, but I can say it's a fun coaster. TWISTY! Ludicrous Speed! GO! This ride is surprisingly gentle but random at the same time. I like it. Tukkijoki is my favorite water ride in Finland. SKLOOSH! TakeOff is the best flat ride of the park. I would say it's not as insane as Kieppi from Linnanmäki but it's also not as painful. Here's the Jet Star. I'm sorry guys, but this was rather rough coaster, and I got a bad headache from first drop. Also, I think there's a star in this coaster's name. Troika has operated since the park's opening, and is still going strong. Oh crap, what I see behind that flat ride? I learned my lesson from Jet Star and decided not to ride Trombi. I think I chose well. Tyrsky had some wierd problems this time. In middle of the trak there's a small jump which this time bursted my marbles. Pretty hard. But now it's time for the best coaster in Finland, Tornado! More Intamin twisty goodness! Wave Swinger was renamed as Ilmaveivi, which is the name of the infamous ice hockey goal scored by Mikael Granlund. I end my first TR to this picture of Tornado and this some sort of magical pipe! Hope you enjoyed!
  5. Not being able to leave your house. What''s worse than running away from dogs that shoot bees from their mouths?
  6. This is our six years old Bernese Mountain Dog, Koda. It is rather lazy as you can see!
  7. Yes! Have you ever rode a smooth Vekoma coaster?
  8. Getting in a traffic jam on the way out from amusement park. What's worse than getting hit by a lighting?
  9. Getting disqualified from a contest. What's worse than falling from space?
  10. To me, Skyloop looks very intimidating and minimal safety restraints don't help at all! But once I rode it, it wasn't that bad afterwards.
  11. Being on a ferry that's going up. What's worse than being chased by your evil doppelgänger?
  12. £/$ 1 billion The Simpsons or Family Guy?
  13. Nice Scott Pilgrim reference there. And these updates are really great!
  14. Being locked in a cell with a bloodthirsty hound. What's worse than Soviet Russia jokes?
  15. Everything in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. "Kick her in the balls!"
  16. Breaking your head. What's worse than losing pants?
  17. Today multiple medias in Finland have reported about bad working conditions at Linnanmäki, reasons being long working hours, little to none rest breaks and bad salary (7,50 €/h), even eating candy at wrong place. The bomb was dropped by the president of Linnanmäki, Risto Räikkönen, who got angry when he was asked about the working conditions, and he quited the interview. Later he was interwieved again, this time knowing the questions, but quited again when he was told how better salary was in local McDonald's. Older workers told Yle's A-studio, that they were almost always alone at workstations, working hours being more than 12 hours and having only one or two toilet breaks, which were held the same time as lunch was.Workers could not even speak about working conditions in internet or media whatsoever. There was also one person, who got fired after he was late about a minute from work and was playing amusement park game... during his spare time! Has anything like this happened in US parks? What kind of conditions theme parks usually have in America? Discuss!
  18. Greetings to everyone! My name is Atte and I live in Porvoo, Finland, about half an hour drive from Helsinki to east. I have only recently started to ride more thrilling rides such as Skyloop or HUSS Booster. Number of coasters I've rode is only 12, but I have visited only about 5 theme parks in my life, such as Särkänniemi, Ocean Park Hong Kong and SFNE. My homepark is Linnanmäki. I usually spend my time playing video games, usually a Sonic game, but I also enjoy Mega Man and Pokemon games, not to mention NHL Slapshot. I first found TPR when I was surfing in YouTube and I was looking for videos about Särkänniemi, which was the first TPR video I ever saw. About a year later I discovered TPR's channel and website, leading to me writing this post. As Forrest Gump would say: "That's all I got to say about that."
  19. I've heard rumors that Ville Leino could be traded somewhere. At least Toronto, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Carolina, Colorado, Boston, NY Rangers and LA are willing to get him.
  20. Worst ending to me is Tulireki (Linnanmäki), because you usually faceplant to seat in front of you, creamed with *bonk* sound effect.
  21. Would someone please tear down the most pointless ride ever, Tulireki?
  22. Crush 40 - Live Life Just amazing and touching song from already awesome rock band.
