Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT) Discussion Thread
XYZ replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would rather have seen the amazement of Chute Out falling on top of Flashback and smashing it to the ground than having it relocated to Saint Louis, but oh well. -
I moved to Southern California this summer from the Bay Area and I've got to say this area has a lot of fun stuff to do and that there is always something to do. I went to SFMM for the first time in years in late August and I wasn't very impressed with the coasters. I did like how there was a good quantity as I was used to SFDK (w/o Superman) & CGA with only 1 very good coaster in each park. However, I expected a little more quality with their coasters from a park with so many coasters, though I wasn't dissapointed as my expectations weren't that high. Technically, SFMM is my home park until January when my pass runs out of time and I wished that Full Throttle would've been like Helix as I would've re-newed my pass as there would be another noteworthy coaster. SFMM prefers quantity over quality, something I do not agree with.

This is amazing, I'm glad New York recieved a ferris wheel as I always thought it would be nice to go on an observatory without going on top of a building (Empire State, 30 Rock). I think this Staten Island location is really good as it has the best views of New York Harbor with the Lower Manhattan skyline in the back. Also, this will probably put Staten Island back on the map and to have Staten Island residents be able to be proud of something in their burough.

Legoland California Discussion Thread
XYZ replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm surprised to see that the hotel was painted very quickly over the last two weeks. I'll post a picture in a few days. It probably will be very expensive as: 1. It is in Carlsbad, a very popular tourist destination. 2. It is in Legoland, so it will have a premium in its price because of its location. 3. It has lego themed rooms, so it will probably be pricy. Brick or Treat was pretty good, I got free candy without waiting that much. Also, you forgot to mention you saw me. -
Was Six Flags Amercia a bad idea?

All I hope for is at least a worthy replacement for Perilous Plunge. I'm wondering if Perilous Plunge was taken out because it was going to be replaced by something big or that Knott's just wanted to get rid of a headache. Since KBF doesn't have much space for thrilling rides to not disturb Ghost Town, Perilous Plunge is a very valuable spot in Knott's to put something with a good size there. From the Screamscape rumors, it seems like a large park version of the mouse plus a few flat rides including the Scrambler would replace Perilous Plunge. Now, if this would happen word for word, I do hope that the flat ride(s) other than the Scrambler would be something good like a large park version of a Screamin' Swing, a Gerstlauer Sky Fly, or even a Larson Flying Scooters. Now, of course rumors very rarely go word by word, of course there's a small chance that there will be a wild mouse coaster that is a clone of the one in LLC, though I expect Knott's to get something maybe a bit better. I hope for an El Loco or a Eurofighter as they can be advertised about how it is the steepest coaster in CA and they generally aren't very expensive as Rock Bottom Plunge costed $3 million (according to RCDB) and Typhoon costed $5 million euros (RCDB, $6.5 million US).

biosciking's So Cal Thread

Amazing Photo TR as usual. I always like how you get straight to the point and that you're focused on giving your opinions of the rides. Hopefully I'll go to SWSD sometime in the future as I live in San Diego County. Also, about the wettest water ride in So Cal, I would expect it to be Pirate Reef (Legoland California). Look it up and you'll see how you get drenched on it.
