  1. ^Lets see how Helix at Liseberg will turn out and how it will compare to Intamin offerings like Cheetah Hunt. But still Intamin will have its airtime machines to offer... Currently my still active coaster maker is still Intamin while my all.time fav keeps to be Schwarzkopf.
  2. ^Most Schwarzkopf flats proved to be very reliable in the long run but most are now 30+ years old - some even around 40 years now. I did not know that SF has another Enterprise after they sold the Wheelie to Fun Spot. The only one I know near me is the Enterprise at Slagharen in the Netherlands. Hansa-Park removed the Dschunke - which was rarely found to begin with - this season. As of last notice there is only one around on the France/Benelux carnival circuit.
  3. If a park wants to keep their Arrow Looper or Suspended they can always knock at Vekoma's door for parts or trains - think they are happy to deliver. The same is - gladly - true for Schwarzkopf Loopers were a park has multiple companies to choose from like Gerstlauer, Maurer-Söhne or SAT-Rides. I am personally more concerned about Schwarzkopf flats like Monster, Enterprise, Calypso or Orbiter - only very few numbers around except for the Monster were there are still some on the German carnivals. But overall I think the clock for Schwarzkopf flats is ticking down fast...
  4. Coasters - and also flats - were you need a partner to ride and cannot go single. Generally also name Stand-Up. As I do parks mostly in a trip as an office worker my feet normally kill me after 3-4 days and Stand-Up coasters just add insult to injury.
  5. How was the overall feel behind the border? While it is deemed safe to go to the capital our government websites still have security warnings for the "US/Mexican border area" at the Mexico entry. Aside from that it is a real hassle to visit Mexico from the US if on a Visa Waifer. That entry portal to Mexico looks like the entry to some kind of prison...
  6. ^Honestly I have never seen those test seats being used for its intended purpose here in Europe. On the other hand I would guess that 99,9+% of poeple who choose to ride here fit into the seats without problems.
  7. ^I guess the manufacturer had not started the construction of the coaster intended for Holiday Park and sold them the finished product at a bargain - plus maybe charging contract penalties from the Chinese park. ^^As they opened their log flume in 1992 Mack also delivered the same year a log-flume to showmen Löwenthal also featuring two turntables and a backwards drop. It is still the biggest portable logflume. Wildwasser 3 - ride-index.de
  8. EP is mostly a family friendly park with an according ride selection. It was a kind of revolution when they added Blue Fire as first High Thrill attraction. But I mostly still miss another High Thrill flat as most other parks have at least a TopSpin (Phantasia, Heide), Ranger (Hansa) or MegaDance (Tivoli).
  9. Another cool one is the Zierer Star Shape which are overall seldom found. There is one on the carnivals, one a Sklyine Park (Bavaria) and one newly built for Vialand (Turkey).
  10. Does Mexico City Fair has any kind of website? Would be cool to plan a trip when its on so to get both parks plus a fair...
  11. I know Afterburner from our carnivals - and they are neither slow to load nor offering slow/boring programs... Swinging high at the carnival
  12. ^this machines can pull some good forces....
  13. ^Still remember the weird looks at Disney when I got my drink at the fountain with no ice. It only got worse as I mixed Coke with Fanta....
  14. I guess not if you do not buy a drink. Here still many poeple - including me - prefer their drinks chilled but without ice cubes. I for one do not like it if my Coke or other drink gets watered by them.
  15. ^Here in Germany they would tell you to drink from the water faucet at the toilet. Needless to say all water here is drinking water.
  16. Just seeing the facts this could be a contender for the Mega-Lite - but doubt that Mack will do such agressive airtime....
  17. Looks like you had an amazing trip. The fair looks great, too. Nice to see a Huss Enterprise and Mack Himalaya - fun fact that the latter stands in the Spanish section at Europa-Park under the name "La Feria". And next to that the rides look well-mantained.
  18. Just love this thread so I post my No.2-4... So you do not have to scroll up my frist was Dreier-Looping - now Montana Infinitum - then at Hamburg DOM. Others I rode but cannot place in exact order: Olympia-Looping, the smaller coaster at Phantasialand before it burnt down ,Thunder-Loop (Slagharen), Teststrecke, Jet-Star (Särkeniemmi), Jetline (Gröna-Lund), Lisebergbanan (Liseberg), Montezoomas Revenge (KBF), Revolution (SFMM). My second Schwarzkopf was the amazing and still kicking Alpina-Bahn - also Hamburg DOM No.3: Nessie at Hansa-Park My fourth was the - soon to be home again - Thriller. The most amazing looper ever!
  19. Thanks for the pics! What do you guys and gals recommend? One or better two days at Hersheypark? Planning to go May/June...
  20. Today major storm Xaver hits Hamburg with a 6+ meter flood over normal high tide and winds up to 180 kph. So far all levees and floodgates are holding without problems. So far the whole of nothern Germany but also surrounding countries in general and Hamburg in special have no floodings and no victims - fire departments even reported a "quite quiet" night with mostly toppled trees as the worst effects. So far also no major damage reports from the DOM or northern theme parks. The DOM was closed last evening and will most likely be this Friday but hope to do some last rides during the weekend. Some pictures from the city during the storm on the Radio Hamburg site.
  21. ^that Walzerfahrt is located at Tripsdrill - Liseberg has another.
  22. Funtime because it is a real chain swing.
  23. Mexicans seem to have a thing for German coasters and flats that are phased out of German carnivals. Very nice of them to keep all those classic rides warm for us...
