  1. Awesome. Can't wait for this ride. Hopefully your studies went well and your summer vacation was just that.
  2. Looking great so far! I'm still very interested in this experience. Can't wait to download this one. I'll beta-test if you need someone too. Keep it up!
  3. I'm really excited for this. Those shots look amazing and I love the interaction with the building, midways and scenery.
  4. My all-time favorite machine is Medieval Madness!
  5. I edited my post (sorry). Females only dorms are behind Corkscrew in Gold.
  6. The building behind Wildcat across the road is Cedars - an all-male dormitory. The building behind Corkscrew over near Hotel Breakers is Gold - an all-female dormitory. Off-point employee housing is located at the foot of the causeway just prior to 1st street.
  7. If they are indeed removing it, I think it would make more since to remove the queues first so you can get that crane right up there. Seeing hte queue rails still there leads me to think it's more of a "really thorough" rehab. I'll reserve any more judgement until I see more pics/confirmation from the park. ~Whatever happened to just a good old Ferris Wheel?!?
  8. It's the mechanisms under the trains that are producing the noise. Has nothing to do with the track (sans the speed/angle/etc) which will cause the anti-rollbacks to raise & lower throughout the ride.
  9. The "clicking" you hear on B&M hypers is the anti-rollbacks falling down into place. I've even heard it on stand-ups (Mantis in particular) on slower/colder days. This has nothing to do with trim brakes/boredom/etc...
  10. You're contract won't specify that you get housing unless you put in on your application. And the system won't allow you to apply if you live within that 25 mile range. I know plenty of people that drive from Bellevue daily just to work here.
  11. Yes it has happened. I've seen it. It's not pleasant! Wanna take bets that the ride hasn't been held up for someone who refuses to put there arms down. I've been there before. Actually had to back all 5 trains up and unload the gentleman who refused. The guests in line were not happy with him.
  12. The mp3 audio file is triggered each time once a train passes a proxy as it approaches the launch pad. This file is... "Keep arms down, head back and hold on..." with the continuing engine roar. This engine roar will actually time-out after about 2 minutes if the train hasn't launched. Each "arms down" after the initial spiel is generated by the ride operator responsible for launching the train (ever notice the two ride operators in the control booth). In the early days of TTD, they could press the button multiple times to create a aaa-aaa-aaa-arms down effect. It was kind of cool. They have since added a time delay so that's not possible. The launch operator also has the ability to manually disable the sound effects via a light switch. Most commonly used during the infrequent shutdowns .
  13. Pretty impressive ride for not using any tools as you say. Great job!
  14. I would like to see the ability to incorporate RCT3 files into NL2. I am excited about the possibilities I have heard for NL2.
  15. You have to have the Ultimate version of Windows to do this. It is possible to enable DreamScapes with non-Ultimate versions, however this is not the forum for that. Unless your computer is capable of handling the power required by this, it's pretty much useless, however it is nice to have some movement while doing mundane tasks in Windows (i.e. listening to music, etc...). Long videos become rather annoying btw! Simple and subtle are the way to go.
  16. Hopefully your TIVO doesn't fail as bad as mine did. For some reason, Amazing Race didn't actually start till about half-after the hour...meaning I didn't get the last 1/2 hour! Darn it...just have to scope out for the repeat!
  17. Sorry to hear about losing everything. I would suggest the Atari Forums. You can find almost anything there (or at least a link to it). Good luck!
  18. Let's see: Top Thrill Dragster - 13 Millennium Force - 12 Mantis - 10 Raptor - 9 And that's just the ones for CP that rank pretty high. I'm sure there are higher ones.
  19. MapQuest says 8 minutes, but I know I've done it in 5. Closest would be Blue Streak at Cedar Point. Unless I'm going to work and then it's Wicked Twister. Either way, it's another great day in Sandusky. Map from my house to Cedar Point.
  20. Just out of curiousity, what would you need a trainer for? Sandbox mode pretty much gives you all of that. Unless you are trying to do all of the scenarios. Personally I just mess around in Sandbox making whatever I want and not having to worry about anything financial/peep related. But I don't believe I have ever seen an RCT3 trainer. Sorry!
  21. Working at Cedar Point for 6 years, I've heard my fair share. Let's recap: ------------------------------------------------------------------ (While I was loading guests on Mantis) - "When do I sit down?" (Standing in front of Mantis) - "Does this go upside down?" (Waiting in line for Top Thrill Dragster) - "That's where it joins Iron Dragon..." (referring to the brake run) "Does Wicked Twister go upside down?" "Where's the rest of Wicked Twister's track?" "How many times does maXair go upside down?" (Standing in front of a sign that says 1/4 hour) - "Wow, it's only a 25 minute wait!" "What's that green ride? The one from Jurassic Park." "What if it stops upside-down?" (Standing near Wicked Twister) - "What ocean is that?" ------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm still partial to questions/statements regarding weather and a rides operation. It seems to me that the GP is misinformed in that certain rides have to close for rain while others do not. "Millennium Force is running, why aren't you? (referring to Wildcat) "When is the rain going to stop?" "What if it doesn't stop raining?" ------------------------------------------------------------------ Mechanical issues throw a whole new breed of questions into the mix. "Didn't someone fall out? That's why it was closed for an hour..." "Do I have to fasten my seatbelt?" "What if the lapbar comes up? "Didn't the green train on Millennium Force go into Lake Erie?" The list could go on forever! That being said, the general public is there not to analyze every sector of a rides mechanisms, but to HAVE FUN! Most could care less about some things, and unfortunately, you don't have to be a genius to get into a theme park. But I feel that a little bit of common sense goes a long way, and alot of the General Public (not just at Cedar Point) seem to lose that aspect during their trip. It's the same thing when I see a newscast on TV of a rollercoaster that was stopped. It's stopped for a mechanical issue by the SAFETY SYSTEM - not because it just wanted a ham sandwich! Most of the GP are already weary of rides, and the fears that their friends put on them only intensify these urban legends and so-called truths. But hey, that's just my two cents.
