  1. Here is a cool photo showing off the costumes that will be featured in our new iLuminate show coming in May!
  2. I don't have that info just yet... generally maintenance projects like this have to be approved each year.
  3. Here is a quick update to the Georgia Cyclone re-tracking with Topper Track. From what I understand, the new topper track will be used to rebuild the first drop, the first turn-around and the second drop. Here are some pictures of the current work (as of 1/25):
  4. We have not "officially" made an announcement regarding this, but SFOG is bringing iLuminate to the park for an all-new show featuring the amazing light-up costume technology. The show will run from May 26-August 12 at the park inside the Crystal Pistol Music Hall. We will release some more details as we get a bit closer to the summer season.
  5. The 2012 operating schedule has been posted to our website: Six Flags Over Georgia. Before anyone freaks out, the October/Fright Fest schedule is still TBD and will be posted soon!
  6. Oh, yeah, if it's the same pack we got from SFMM (which it looks like it is), it's the big "wall maps" from ALL of the Six Flags parks! (or all of the parks at the time the map pack was put together!) Yeup, these are the souvenir park maps (that were provided to guests at the parking toll plazas) from the 2007 season, the company's 45th year. It should feature every theme park that the company owned/operated that year. I have a few of these hanging in my office as well
  7. With the park's offices closed for the 2-week holiday break, I was excited to receive my secret Santa package in the mail today. Thank you to whomever for the amount of awesomeness in the package... it truly made my day! The zombie theme continues... This book is seriously going on my desk (and I have a feeling this might inspire a few ideas...) Pure awesomeness (that is already hanging in the shower ready for the morning)... A group shot of the contents awaiting me this afternoon... Again, thanks to Brandy and my secret Santa for this cool exchange. Can't wait to see everyone again at Deep South Bash 2012! -Brad (SFOG)
  8. At least you didn't have to pay international shipping to Brazil!
  9. I'm in... and I promise I will not send a Mind Bender restraint (unless that can fit in a flat rate box???)
  10. ^^What Eric said... google "Rocky Mountain Construction Group" and they do a great job explaining what Topper Track is (vs. the Iron Horse track that the NTG received).
  11. Yep! I'm personally excited to see how this turns out. Cyclone can be an incredible ride (if you catch it on a good day).
  12. Thought I would share a few photos taken at SFOG today... You may notice that a good portion of track has been removed from the Georgia Cyclone since the park closed in October. Approximately 30-35% of the coaster's track will be replaced with Topper Track, resulting in a better experience on this awesome wooden coaster for 2012! Notice something missing after the lift? That turnaround looks a bit strange without track!
  13. Did anyone get a chance to check out the system at Six Flags White Water this year? It really is an awesome way to be able to enjoy a full-day at a water park, no matter what day you have to visit.
  14. There are a few things that could alter those plans (these are rather large pieces of machinery), but if all goes well with the maintenance/part replacements, both Batman and DDD should be open this weekend.
  15. You are quite welcome. The research was rather tiresome, but I feel that we landed on a good one.
  16. Thanks again to TPR for covering the event... we are very excited about the re-vamped Fright Fest product. Awesome TR!
  17. On behalf of the park, I wanted to thank everyone that made it out for the first ever Deep South Bash! The park's management team was talking today about how great the event was and how personable and appreciative everyone was on Saturday. We have truly been blown away by the comments you guys have sent to us, posted on the forums and left on the park's Facebook page. It was great to meet everyone at the pre-DSB dinner and at the park on Saturday! We can't wait to host everyone again in 2012! -Brad
  18. ^There is a Wendy's and a waffle house (not recommended) on the same exit as the hotel... but I'd recommend going 1 exit west on I-20 to Thornton Road for some fast food or to exit 36 (Chapel Hill Road) for nicer sit-down places. Hard to beat the weather forecast for Saturday! SFOG weather forecast for Saturday, September 17
  19. Only a few more days... working out the final details for what is shaping up to be an awesome event! I hope everyone is ready! Official event lanyards!
  20. I'm really interested to see if ANY water comes back in the cups... should be rather hilarious!
  21. Hey guys... we have launched a cool Fright Fest mini-site to highlight the event this year... just went live this morning: frightfest.sixflags.com/overgeorgia
  22. ^yeah, you can find a few places to watch the games on Thornton Road (but more likely in the bars at places like Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays). Down a few exits (36) in Douglasville are better options (Buffalo Wild Wings to be precise).
