  1. Two hours for Apocalypse at SFMM at the last WCB. And to think the ride op told me the wait was only 75 minutes! At least this time, they had a reason for only running one train.
  2. I was at SFMM last week, when I took this picture. Has everyone already seen this? Obviously, Green Lantern is not the only coaster to begin vertical construction.
  3. Is it just me, or does that commercial sound like something out of the 80's? At least they actually marketed it as a family coaster. (Did you hear that, Alton Towers!?) The actual ride experience seems to be like a "wood Revenge of the Mummy." It looks to be an overall gentle ride, but packs in quite a few small pops of airtime.
  4. Intamin. 15 years ago, I would have said B&M. However, while Intamin rides seem to develop and get more thrilling over time, B&M's tend to grow less intense. The last "good" B&M was Katun in 2000, and since we have been stuck with less intense costers. Intaimin, however, still designs some of the most intense looping, hyper, and shuttle coasters around.
  5. ^Yeah, I agree the Timberliners don't look the best, but we will have to wait and see how they ride. (I am not a big fan of Millennium Flyers either, and think PTC trains have a much more "classic" feel. PTC's don't really ride the best, though.) However, I can truly say that I have never been so excited for a kiddie woodie, or kiddie coaster for that matter. This looks like the best on a family coaster you are likely to get!
  6. Looks like the element might be a unique experience, but c'mon. You all know Fuji Q Highland has GOT to find a way to make this suck. That is just what they do.
  7. Senic railway looks like fun! Although, I do wonder, how does it compare with the ones at parks such as Tivoli or Bakken? This one looks longer, but slower with less airtime.
  8. Paramount Parks is to be reborn! I'd like to see how long this park stays open before being sold to Cedar Fair.
  9. A Silver Bullet train was taken apart? Did this mean Knott's was running one train on SB, since I can see another one in the transfer shed?
  10. Before reading any further, I must clarify one thing... The images are extremely small! I am currently working on increasing their sizes. However, now you will just have to deal with them. Driving up to the park. I see you X2. Goliath, Colossus, and Superman. (Too bad Colossus never opened...)\ I see you Superman! Hi Tatsu and Revolution! we will be riding you later\ A very similar picture, but with more Tatsu. Thom...I mean Whistlestop Park Construction update anyone? 1st ride of the day, with no line! (Why didn't you go to WCB)? Parking Lot: The Ride ERT The vertical loop on Parking Lot: The Rids What? No! It is not "Scream!" It is Parking Lot: The Ride. Close up of Parking Lot: The Ride. How come there have been no trains in these photos? There we go! The dive loop on Parking Lot:The Ride. are you tired of me making this joke yet? This was just a little weird. Within minutes of ERT starting, the Goliath train got stuck on the lift! Good thing it got fixed pretty quickly. This Zero-g roll can only mean one thing... Batman ERT! That twisted mess that IS Batman: The Ride This picture can only mean one thing... Riddler's ERT! We can ride Riddler's Revenge as many times as we want. The last corkscrew ????Riddle?me?this????Riddle?me?that???? Dive loop shot! I see you Gold Rusher! Tatsu ERT! Tatsu, through the trees! The worst part of the ride Good thing we had ERT, since the ride is down to one train to to maintenance . Gotta love that flying position. Tired of Tatsu pictures yet? Just one more picture before... X2 ERT! We only had to wait like, 5 minutes for X2. It's time for the Bite II haunted mansion walk through tour! If there is ever a fire in Bite II, now you know where to go! The camo room. Some weird, scary, awesome stuff! Anyone know what these are for? (If you already know, no cheating!) This weird little room... Even more weird, scary, awesome stuff! Ditto. Noted! Time for some rides on Ninja! Superman was kicka$$! Line was not. You go up so much higher now than before. At least in the line for Superman you can get some really awesome through the trees shots of Gold Rusher. Ditto Ditto x2 Ditto x3 Oh yeah, you could also get some awesome shots of Riddler's as well. Riddler's Revenge, through the trees! Drop off the MCBR. I think you can get on this drop if you are lucky. Some very corkscrewy goodness Noted! The new Fortress of solitude. (Doesn't this just look the same as the old one with my camera flash on?) Tatsu, through the trees! Tatsu and Revolution Revolution from under the loop! Revolution through the loop! Revolution through the trees! We got to walk on the Tatsu service road, and get up close to Tatsu and Revolution! (Why do all my posts end in exclamation points?!) Hi Tatsu. Who invented liquid soap and why? You cannot get this shot if you are a normal visitor. Don't even try. Take as many damn pictures of Tatsu you want. Helixes on flying coasters are just so kicka$$. GRR...Stupid trim. Pretzel loop is still awesome, though! The final inversion. Brakes make coaster go slow. Woo! Thanks Tatsu crew for not stacking the trains! (Wait a minute...there is only one.) We see you Orient Express car! The transfer shed. this is where the other two trains are sleeping. Hay! I've got an idea! Take a photo of the photo machine. The end of the Tatsu service road. Why can't Vekoma make a coaster that can be open half the time? Termin...I mean Apocalypse New sign looking spiffy! Presentation at Magic Moments theater! New Revolution restraints are demonstrated. I wonder if they will actually add these to the ride soon. The Q&A session. I asked if SFMM had ever considered building Mega Lite. "What is that?" was the response. Apocalator!Did I mention how awesome it was running today? although one-train operations were not! Random theming in the queue! I had plenty of time to take pictures in the 120 minute line! Why would I wait 120 minutes for a GCI you ask? Because the ride op told me the wait was 75 minutes! Seriously. To be off by a few minutes is reasonable. However, this ride op told me the line wait was 45 minutes shorter than it actually was! (He must have been talking to Fuji-Q Highland). Random truck! I will be fair, though. Despite the stupid ride op, dispatch rates were actually pretty decent for one train. It's time for night-time ERT! Tatsu station! At night! Fountain! Sorry about the shortage of nighttime photos. Very few of them turned out to be even visible. Also I was too distracted by the awesomeness of night-time ERT. If do not already know, they adding fog and lights to Scream and Batman, plus a new X2 soundtrack. Unfortualtly, it was raining quite hard, so Superman could not remain open for evening ERT. Hope you enjoyed this update!
  11. Although the ride looks cool, the coolest thing seems to be the restraints. I really hope B&M chooses to use these on their future looping coasters. these things would be qwesome on a Dive Machine!!
  12. Senic World looks like a fun little place! Only, would you consider Senic Railway to be a credit? This park sems to need one, considering Orphan Rocker has never opened.
  13. ^Yeah, but honestly, the park needs it. No bay area park has receieved a "big" coaster in the past 10 years. I really hope I can somehow be able to attend this event, considering the random removal of Invertigo. CF claims they will replace the ride, but how can you possibly fit a nice coaster into that space . (Unless you are talking a ZacSpin)
  14. Really? That seems odd to me. Whenever I ride it, it seems the worst part is the first turn, the left turn at the bottom of the first drop. It seems it would take Rocky Mountain track to fix that part of the ride. Overall, though Ghostrider is still a great woodie, and it really is the only ride in California to deliver good .
  15. Yeah, I learned that the hard way. I lost my season pass cupon book on X2. Good thing the actual season pass stayed inside my pockets!
  16. Speaking of Superman opening, does this open up the opportunity to add it to ERT? If not, then I will probably get a spot in line for it just after the end of ERT time, before the park opens.
  17. While I am glad Six Flags is starting to use Rocky Mountain track, I would be even more so to see Cedar Fair use this. Knott's has GhostRider, Dorney has Thunderhawk, Cedar Point has Mean Streak. All 3 of these rides could use Rocky Mountain track. (P.S., what is with Cedar Fair parks and rough woodys anyway?)
  18. This seems like great news! Although, considering this ride's reputation, I am kind of surprised they did not place the track on the whole ride. I hope Six Flags plans to do this on more of their rides in the future.
