Construction! Youg got a special chance to get a preview of what Van Pikeson Lake has in store for next season. You were able to see behind the green construction wall. They told you that they were building a childrens section for next year, including a kiddie coaster, called Snoopy's Wild Log Chase. Also, through the crowd of employees trying to block your view of it, you saw pieces of--- Oh no! :shock: Your computer crashed as soon as you were going to post what you saw! It may take days to fix your computer!

My coaster entry into this nearly completed park. Its name is Snowblind, and it is about an adventure out of New York City, to the depths of the North Pole, to find the fabled lost ship of Henry Hudson. ^I'm trying as hard as I can. I'm really not good with terrain, this is my best try yet.

Well, it seems that the park has taken advantage to Boggart's first-season breakdowns to add much more theming to it. It's looking a bit like Nemesis now, with the extreme terrain effect. Boggart is finally back up, after almost three months of being down because of an accident involving the station building. Nobody seems to want to tell you what the accident was, so it remains a mystery. You took some pictures of Boggart's new theming while at the park one day. Here they are: And finally, the full layout with the new theming. Here you can see the now famed near-miss with the mid-course brakes and the loop, and the new fire effect in the middle of the track. In this picture you can see short tunnel added on the lift hill, and some of the places where people seem to try to touch the terrain with their feet. The near-miss with the corkscrew, kind of like on Nemesis. As you can see, major theming has been done on Boggart. You can see many of the newly-added near- misses on the coaster.

*drools* Cyclone... the first time I rode this coaster, my life flashed before my eyes!

Opening Day!! Finally, after months of waiting and missing media day because of a buisness trip, you have gotten to Van Pikeson Lake to ride Boggart! You took many pictures of the event, and here are some of them: Another view of Boggart without scenery. Boggart without scenery. The queue and the station. A really good view of the layout from the trusty Sky Tower! Here you can see how close you come to the structure of Double Threat. A train coming out of the hidden barrel roll, and some of the track going over a lake of goo.

Here it is! It's name is Boggart, a B&M invert(nice guess coasterfreak), and it is a monster. You bought a poster in the gift shop that looked like this: Boggart poster!

Construction Finally, after almost a week of investigating the black trucks coming in and out of Van Pikeson Lake, you found what they were for while riding the Sky Tower observation tower. You whipped out your( fully loaded )camera, and took these pictures: An overview of the park. A nice view from the top of Xtreme Xpress. One of those black trucks, and some track!

It is between Cyclone at Astroland, or Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland. With Dragon Coaster, if you sit in the back and put your hands up, the airtime is breathtaking. But with the Cyclone, if you sit anywhere on the train, hands up or grasping white knuckel on the lap bar, awaiting the 58 degree drop ahead of you, the airtime on the drop is 2 seconds of pure bliss! Plus, the Cyclone was my first woodie.

Cool! I can't wait to see these new coasters! El Bandido sounds awesome, and with Jester coming, this park is going to be almost complete! I really can't wait!

Update! The locals to Van Pikeson, NY have started to talk about the black vans constantly coming in and out of Van Pikeson Lake theme park. You have been eyeing those vans, and have noticed the small yellow print at the bottom of the doors of the vans. It looks like a foriegn language of some sort, kind of like German or Swiss. You are beginning to suspect that the vans are from the company Bolliger and Mallibard, and also suspect that they are responsable for the many topics on the Screamscape forums titled "New coaster for VPL?" Hopefully your theories are correct.

1. It was the best pic I could find of a rocket coaster in a decent size. 2. I realized that it didn't have any theming, but that was after I had posted the pictures. So I felt I had to theme it to look like a regular rocket coaster. that's basically it.

Over the next few months, you were able to catch some of the theming work being done on 12-Guage. They have added a tunnel at the launching stretch, themed the queue to a mechanical theme, and have added extra supports on the tophat. Here are some photos: The queue and the station. Media Day! Media Day for 12-Guage was held on May 2. everybody on the TPR forums have been awaiting this day for months, and you have posted an event on the forums. You took many pictures from the top of Double Threat, the top of one of one of the buildings of Xtreme Xpress, and your house once the ERT was over and had dinner at the nearby Carrabbas with the people who came to the event. Here are some of the pictures you took: Obviously they enjoyed their ride! Robb and Elissa showed up later in the day. The twisted mass of Intamin steel that is 12-Guage! Construction has begun! Some pieces have arrived overnight, and you caught two more coming on the back of a truck from the roof of your house. Update! Van Pikeson Lake has announced the arrival of a new roller coaster for the 2006 season! All that the park has hinted is that this coaster will be manufactured by Intamin. Construction photos coming soon! This is gonna be big!
