Judge has taken over the job of "Paint Shaker The Ride" from Texas Gaint quite well, If you look you can see were they have started retracking, so far it only gose from the station up to the lift and in a few other spots. Im gald to hear every one got a ride on, Paper Clip the Ride "Mr Freeze". I wasent able to make it out to sandy lake but being another park I have grown up with I cant wait to see the photos. -
For those of you who still do not know what a SFOT spelunker is here is a photo, during the Q&A it was said that this ride might be coming back in the near future. these creepy little guys are what horrified most kids, caused the rides changing over to Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure. photo via parktimes.com The New Texas Giant completely awesome and SFOT did a great job of hosting the event, I only wish that they could find a in between of stapling you to the seat and safety, on a few rides I was stapled to the point it was pain full just to sit in the seat and I'm a skinny guy. other than that the ride is a complete win for six flags, my only other wish is that we could have gotten the Shock Wave ERT moved over to "Paper Clip the Ride".

I wish I could be there but I have to work today, got to go play on this thing, "maybe some one could come visit me?" don't you love old stuffs I hope we can see some more photos of the ride, hopefully the wait of doom doesn't kill any one, also try to ride in all of the trains each is quite different ride delivery "and license plates" Blue was hauling the most @$$ yesterday in my opinion.

Don't be going too hard on superman they have been having compressor problems since last season, so much to the point that they had to take the drop cycle out, two years ago It was awesome but with only two compressors it just cant put out the power, especially on days were they have all 3 towers running at once such as yesterday. Also flume #1 is the first log flume ever built, it is only operated on special occasions or extremely busy days, and any hot day in Texas is A very busy day for the log flume. But it is still a rare treat to see it running "It is definitely the better of the two".

NTG is my new #2 "Shock Wave will always be #1" favorite, the back seat is pure joygasm and the front is just amazing. The park was fairly crowded today by the time I got there but the Line never got more than a hour and half wait so I managed to get six rides in before I left, theme on NTG is quite well done and I hope every one will make it out to ride this beast at the bash or any other time, well any ways on to the Pictographs! lines Did Manage to fill the que house but never got much further than that. I love the Tool box themed control panel NTG and all her first drop awesomeness! for some reason this sign makes me horny "bad pun?" Off on another ride of awesome. but the best new of the day was that flume one was open! and this one just made my day! a little honk every time a train leaves
-
NTG may not have lived up 100% to what we were hoping for but by the way the reviews sound its about 92% to 96% of what we were expecting, now remember this is the first coaster of its type in the world with this track system "and I still think they should be called Iron Horses" just Imagine what will happen If they were to take Mean Streak and rebuild it like this, with what they have learned from NTG, the tweaks that will with out a a doubt happen in the design/designing will make a absolutely insane coaster. As with any thing as you gain more experience things only get better! Cant Wait to See and meet yall at Texas Giant Bash and probably some of you tomorrow.

Can we get some New Texas giant seeds or perhaps Texas cyclone seeds? -
I made a trip Out to Six Flags over Texas for Latino Day and to check out Progress on the Texas Giant "and boy she looks nice". It was a beautiful day but it was miserable for me because I love Tex Mex food and it was every where. Even with the festival the park was fairly slow today and almost all of the rides were walk straight on and all of the cars around the park were quite nice to look at anyways. Onto to the Pointillism's! Only 12 more days till NTG Opens. I wonder how many kitty's are hiding in that cake? Lets start off the day with some cars for you classic car lovers. Howdy to you too. And now something for you less classic car lovers, there were cars every where today. This photo was taken while I was trying to figure out how to smuggle this out of the park. I cant find the New Texas Giant on this map or Titan! Run Little Girl your head looks like a Dot! Luckily for Kid Tums SFoT doesn't allow children to get eaten any more. Titan was running amazing today and it was walk on all day. I spy cup new Holders on Titan this will be great for... my new 50th anniversary unlimited year long free refill Cup, I put my name on it to keep any one who is not named Stephen G form taking it from one of those new cup holders. I have found the company that makes that blur paint we always see on coasters these days. The best news of the day was that Flume #1 was open! I have a feeling that I will be having Lunch in this pavilion some time soon. Dose Club TPR membership come with dental care from this Guy? see, cars every wear. For Latino day they had low rider car demonstrations. It was actually fairly interesting with all of the random guys walking around, also I spy the painted layout of the haunt I worked in over fright fest. Shock Waves track is complete once more but... She is still closed. Ahh, the incredibly sexy Texas giant Trains. The Station is looking good with some much needed TLC. I love that SFoT is putting in even the smallest detail into this ride, such as this Rock retaining wall Obligatory NTG awesomeness photo I found Dan, he got trapped in this little boat and starved due to fear of water. they had all of these different Latin American themed shows around the park. we did find a bit of Texas Giant memorabilia in the Park. I want to know if I can get Prince Desmond in a can. we were going to finish off the day with the Judge Roy Scream, but he was out of court today so... you will have to settle for Mr. Freeze instead. this wall was painted with some of that blur paint. with it starting to get hot and storms on the way it was time to leave. but we did see Mr. Six and a clown dancing on the way out. Don't worry you will, you will. I almost for got to add with all the Mine Train discussion. According to the Dipping Dots Guy the Mini Mine train is as wild as a half acre of snakes. How could I for get you Mr Awesome S&S Combo, Superman tower of power is like the oil derrick but with a lot more power!

ooh Im happy! -
I would doubt excessive speed was the cause, after working on miniature railroads for a number of years, Almost all of them are geared to the point that they will stay under a certain speed. These trains were built by Allan Herschell in the mid fifty's, these engines can only achieve 8 to 12 mph depending on how many cars/weight you are pulling, unlike a roller coaster all that holds these on the track is there weight, sadly many states only have regulations on the engines/cars them selves and not the track work "Imagine only inspecting the coaster train and none of the other features on a ride" although this system appears to be kept to class 1 standards and that is most likely no the case my guess would be a flange failure of the lead truck on the engine due to metal fatigue or something such as a rock or other object on the track. this is sad to hear and I hope better regulations will come from this across the country.

What is up with the shockwave at SFOT
Stephen G replied to Luxas Surta's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Its has out lived its life expectancy and Jonson creek floods on a regular basis "almost every heavy rain fall" which takes a toll on the footers and supports, Its nice to see though that SFoT is taking care of one of the best rides in the park. A couple of years ago they had several sections of the final turn into the break run taken out to smooth out the curve and refurbish the support structure.
