  2. I don't think it's a snake. Snakes don't blink do they? I'm thinking a dinosaur. T-rex or Velociraptor?
  3. I was by no means crapping on Cincy. I'm just saying that the Greyhound/Amtrak takes you downtown, not straight to KI (obviously). Therefore, with limited funds (as I imagine they have), it could get add up to do all the additional fees and routes. It's not too hard, but also, not easy. The Greyhound station isn't too far from the Metro station, but it's not the best area to walk thru.. Probably a 15 min walk though. From the Union Terminal, the walk would be much longer. The Metro is probably the best option though once in Cincy.
  4. I realize you said "near" but Chicago isn't all that near KI (5 hours in my opinion isn't even "near"). But as a suggestion for transportation, I know Greyhound runs cheap routes to Cincinnati. Also, Amtrak runs a line from Cincy to Chicago. Only downside, both of these will put you in downtown Cincinnati. Which is about 20 minutes (20 mins. is in good traffic, in bad traffic much higher) down I-71 from Kings Island. So you would then have to travel up 71 to Kings Island.
  5. I have to agree with you on the enforcement of line jumpers... I was overjoyed when 2 guys cut (to get in line with girls they knew in front of us) in front of my friend and I in the line for Maverick and something was done about it. One of the 2 workers at the entrance came over and told them to go back all the way out, and get back in line after everyone they cut. Best of all, he kept a keen eye on them, only to watch them attempt again to cut in line with the girls.. He came over yet again and said "alright I gave you a chance, now get out of line and don't get back inline. And don't think it will be soon, because I'm out front here for quite a while." Man, I was happy to see someone take such initiative. I saw similar events and enforcement happen in line for Millennium. Thank you CP
  6. It's already been decided that the 4200' length was measured in 2D, and thus doesn't measure the vertical changes. It should be easily over 5000' assuming this...
  7. Here is a few of the different signs up (cred goes to topgun1993, kicentral.com)
  8. 2 identical signs popped up on the construction fence around swan lake today (I believe) (Credit goes to derek9312, kiextreme.com)
  9. As of the other day, stakes are now all over the clearing. Rebar in footer shape has shown up, and lots of other building materials are everywhere: Credit goes to Ryan Suhr, kicentral.com And someone noticed on some of the rebar laying around behind The Crypt, that it says "Load/Unloading Station": Credit goes to welchce, kicentral.com Things are getting more and more interesting.....!
  10. From the looks of the track pix, it appears to be normal Hyper coaster gauge. Dive Machine track tends to have ties that are straight across the inside of the track http://www.rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=64 Also, look at the layout of Nitro, and tell me that this coaster isn't going to have a similar layout. Nitro's helix may stick out a little more, and KI's looks like it'll have a splashdown, and KI looks like it is utilizing the ravine. But overall similar to Nitro: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1106.htm?picture=12 You can't really see in those pix, but the ravine cleared out is quite large. I think the rumor of 2nd larger drop could be possible.
  11. He wasn't saying that a putt putt course is going in near SOB.. The clearing by SOB is supposedly where they took some dirt to fill and level swan lake. He ws saying the putt putt is going into an area near Great Wolf Lodge. GWL is adding their own.
  12. That's kind of interesting that it's uncomfortably bumpy in other than the front seat. Of sat in just about every row on TTD, and it's nothing but smooth. Why such a difference?
  13. Skramp, since the Dive Machine track is all around much larger, I can only imagine, that the trough needed for such track would be larger. I can't see why hyper track wouldn't fit perfectly in there. And who said the lake had to be overly deep to get the scoops throwing the water around? Also, it appears as though there is footings in the trough just like SheiKra, again slightly smaller.. but still. What else could this be? I see no other explanation, unless it's something we haven't seen before.
  14. SheiKra under construction: (credt goes to John Wiencek) KI's new construction: (credit goes to Dane Thomas, kicentral.com) I think they look almost exactly the same, excluding the size. Obviously, SheiKra's is much wider having to fit dive track in there. But it seems slightly deceiving in the pix... this construction at KI could easily fit regular B&M track in there.
  15. Ok, may be an off the wall question here, but I've always wondered this... B&M has never built a flying coaster with a normal loop, but the vekoma's do have them. My question is, is why don't the go through the loop BELOW the track, like an inverted coaster? All the vekoma's roll over onto the back before entering a loop. I think itd be insane to be in the flying position, going through a loop like an inverted coaster. Why hasn't this been attempted?
