  1. ^That would fit in the Splashwater Falls area with no problem, especially if the cars are removed. Makes sense for that space. Low capacity though, I'm assuming.
  2. Just went to NU for the first time (saw Camp Snoopy 8 years ago) yesterday with my family and had a great time. SBRBP was my first Euro-fighter and was great, and I was pleasantly surprised by how thrilling Orange Streak and Family Odd Coaster were. I missed the Avatar Airbender credit, but my wife and daughter got on it. The log flume was amazing! Seven hours in the park, and we still missed riding 3 rides! Glad I got my coaster fix after 5 months off. I can't believe they got all this into the mall.
  3. ^Maybe it was just me, then. Nothing horrible, but I just thought the loops banged my head a little more than normal, but I've been riding the thing for 23 years now, so maybe I'm just looking for something to complain about. Now Iron Wolf, that thing is uncomfortable to the point I usually skip it. Used to be much smoother.
  4. If they removed Demon there would be a buttload of space (combined with Splashwater Falls / Antique Cars area). I know it's not likely to happen - especially since Iron Wolf is a far better candidate for removal. Should be an exciting few years, though! Cameron. Yep, I've noticed the space taking out Demon would leave there too, but I don't see it coming down, as rough as it is.
  5. ^I have only heard speculation about this. I hope their park map will be up soon to confirm.
  6. ^The park used to put in first of its kind/world's tallest/fastest coasters, so something fairly unique would be cool. V2 is low capacity, so while it's an issue to consider, I don't know if it will stop SF.
  7. ^I'm thinking the Eurofighter as well. I'd be satisfied with that, since realistically, there just isn't room for a megacoaster in the park unless they some removed rides, and I don't think SF is going to fork out the cash for anything huge in the short term.
  8. Sundays are much less crowded than Saturdays. You might not need the Flashpass if can get there early. Probably won't get busy until afternoon.
  9. We are heading there for the first time this year too. Unfortunately, I just can't stand the spinning rides anymore, but my daughters said they'll ride. I would probably freak out on it anyway.
  10. Based on the info at http://www.rideaccidents.com the ride operator definitely appears negligent, expecting the riders to confirm they're secure because they're grownups and not even watching the ride's operation. Sounds like the rider was too big to ride also.
  11. ^That's what your typical theme park Facebook page looks like (see the GP thread for more examples). Someone literally has done a study proving that visiting Facebook lowers people's intelligence. I firmly believe it.
  12. ^ You mean like this little nugget I just read on the SF GAm Facebook page? "quick question why dont you have fright fest evry year soooooo many more people would come." As several replies pointed out, they have had FF for almost 20 years. I was in high school when it started. And then there was the one the other day on the same page about SF GAv currently erecting a Shockwave clone. Thankfully, someone had pointed out they just tore it down. I feel dumber every time I leave that page.
  13. The park is small, so don't worry about the walking. Everyone wants the cut-through path, which I understand, but you walk a lot more in big parks. The waterpark is good there, and Timbers is great,
  14. My family and I enjoyed our day there two years ago. No crowds at all in early June, which was a nice break from our home park, SFGAm. Great prices, too.
  15. Oh, I agree. I've been on their hypers, stand-ups, flyers, and inverteds, and B:TR is the one with non-stop intensity after the lift. I was just saying I'm surprised I've never grayed or blacked out on it because of that fact.
  16. I've never even so much as grayed out on B:TR at SF GAm despite its intensity, which is one reason I love it. I'm surprised I haven't, reading these posts. I used to gray or blackout on the old Shockwave there every time I rode it. Maybe I've gotten better at handling the forces as I get older.
  17. Overheard last weekend will entering the Raging Bull queue at SFGAm: "It says you have to be 54" to ride. He's not 5 foot 4." The teen who said this to his dad about his little brother looked about 17, at least.
  18. ^Plus, the pass is good at all SF parks. St. Louis is only 6 hours away. We have used our passes at Fright Fest 7 times already this month. It's nice to not have to stay all day each time.
  19. Six Flags Great America Fright Fest. Been there 5 times so far this month, going again tomorrow night and Sunday.
  20. I just read this week she's heading home. She can't walk yet, but there is hope she may because she stretched her spinal cord but didn't sever it. It's amazing that she survived.
  21. My motion sickness hit in adulthood, so you youngins might still get it one day. Dramamine gets me through the day at a park fine, but I avoid the rapidly spinning flat rides. Carousels and slower flat rides, I'm usually okay.
  22. Went to Fright Fest today and got our 2011 passes processed. The crowds were very light for several hours but increased a bit later in the afternoon. Lines were almost non-existent on most rides. My 2-year old son added the Spacely and Little Dipper coasters to his credits. We'll be back tomorrow for more!
  23. ^Yep, my 8-year-old daughter was so freaked out by the second lift theming she wouldn't ride it a second time that day. This, from a girl who loved three rides each on Diamondback and The Beast during the day and will ride anything without fear (usually).
  24. ^Is that such a bad thing, though? The extra screen real estate makes it a lot better to use than the Touch, which my wife owns, and the iPhone, which I used to own. There will be a better one coming, but that's technology. My only real beef is the lack of Flash, which keeps some sites from working. I know Jobs hates Flash, but Flash isn't dead quite yet.
