  1. Took my family to Kings Island for our first trip on Saturday. We took advantage of the morning ERT on Diamondback and The Beast. Loved them both. The floater air on DBack is fun (though the coaster was more tame than I expected), and the closing helix of Beast just rocks, especially on the night ride. Great park overall, and we will definitely be back.
  2. Best-Beast-The double-helix in the dark totally makes up for the trim brake on the hill into it. Worst-Adventure Express-Second lift hill to nowhere.
  3. Robb and Club TPR got some nice press in Chicago's Daily Herald today! http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=400921
  4. I for one say the opposite! I love Dark Knight, it's a great ride that was just marketed the wrong way. I guess I was just expecting more the first time I rode it (marketing, like you said), especially after the pre-show, which is cool. It's a fun ride, but I've never waited more than 20 minutes for it, and the theming once on the ride is pretty poor. I also get annoyed that so many people get sent into the room for the pre-show and half of them end up getting ahead of me in line when they were behind me because there's no queue in that room so people are standing in a mob. I still wouldn't wait very long in line for it. To each his own. Batman the Ride is the one I love.
  5. While you guys are heading to my home park tomorrow ( I live ten minutes away), I'm taking the family to Kings Island for the first time. Have a great day, and if the line for the Dark Knight is at all long, trust me: don't bother!
  6. Unfortunately, Batman Dark Knight at SF Great America. I did it for my kids. Before that was Batman: The Ride. I really like the newly yellow track.
  7. Hint from a local anytime you head here: Avoid the Grand Ave. entrance/ exit like the plague and take the little-used Washington St. one that goes under the Eagle on the south end of the park. They sometimes close it at night later, but if it's still open, take it! Definitely take it to enter. Takes a little more maneuvering to/from 94, but will save a ton of time either way.
  8. @alilstronger: Dude, it's just a joke (not wanting to ride that coaster after them). I use public toilets like anyone else! Thanks for the hygiene lesson, though.
  9. Saw former Chicago Bulls Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant at Great Amqerica in Gurnee before they won their first championship of the 90s.
  10. Well, that's one rollercoaster I can guarantee I'll never ride...
  11. ^Actually, I just read in local news last night that the victim's dad is actually allowing the video to be released once law enforcement are done with it, so it's inevitable, it seems.
